Wouldn't it be better for houses in Nigeria to disconnect from NEPA or whatever name it's been called, and get connected to generator,at least one will be sure of electricity once your tank is full,I often wonder what Nigerian are waiting for!it's glaring and crystal clear that the politicians have failed the people,it's high time people rise up and demand a change!

an avenue to embezzle some money again!,who will save Nigeria from this mess, absolute lack of direction and focus, this is unbelievable.
Politics / Re: Is This For Real ? by darren20(m): 5:16pm On Mar 22, 2008
I hate to say that Nigeria as a nation is under a curse,Imagine a nation where there is no electricity, and other basic infrastructures and the Representatives having to start raising money for obama's campaign,it's unthinkable, have they tried to raise money for the failing education sector?or other sector of the economy in their domain that are not working, the more I think about Nigeria, the more I realize how hopeless the situation of a common man is.This cannot happen in a civilised society,Imagine some local MP in Britain raising money for Hilary Clinton or John McCain!
Business / Re: Who Is Currently The Richest Man In Nigeria? by darren20(m): 12:33pm On Mar 19, 2008
Hi All,
Chief Harry Akande of AIC INC,is probably the richest Nigerian alive, authoritatively, forbes could not ascertain his wealth because though he's a Nigerian,he's also a US citizen,he also hold citizenship of Bahamas in the carribeans, where he operates his business interests His companies are also registered there because of tax purposes.Akande owns investments in various blue chip companies all around the world, and he's reputed to be worth in the region of $10b.He could not be graded with Nigerian businessmen because though He's a Nigerian,He does not not operate from Nigeria. and also because of his citizenship and also His ability to cover his networth due to tax purposes.Akande own substantial shares with the world reknown Paramount Pictures,He also own a University in Antigua,He also own  an airline that operates from the carribeans, because of his love for aircraft and its acquistion,Airbus named a particular fleet after him, this can be verified from their website.
Akande owns  consulta international consultant based in Germany,He also own Engineering and power development consultants,The construction arm of his businesses was reputed to have done businesses within Africa and the middle east to the tune of $45b.

Politics / Re: Ribadu Fired! by darren20(m): 1:59pm On Dec 31, 2007
@iyke-D.I quite agree with you,
I've just realize that majority of Nigerian problems lies in the fact most of it's citizens are naive, they can't see handwritings behind the wall,Having gone through responses relating to this case I sure can see why Nigeria needs real help! and I do ask myself why do people think this way,it doesn't take for one to be intellectual to know that this is a plot judging from the actions of the AGF,Intellectuals like Wole Soyinka,Kanu Agabi etc have spoken concerning this issues,The questions that should be asked concerning ribadu's case are:why this time when he still has 3 more years left on his contract?won't it be better if the course was schedule for after at the end of he's contract?(rule of law indeed).Has he done anything wrong?i.e stolen some money etc,:the reason for his removal, was it really justified? The implications of this guy's removal are:Re-awakening of 419 and other fraudlent activities, thereby scoring the country low on transparency international and international communities, absence of foreign investments and the one available leaving,:Nigerians abroad have just started enjoying some level of trust within their communities this decision will completely negates whatever improvements that has been recorded,i.e back to square one:etc.
Nigerians needs to wake up and realize that Yar'adua has no plan for Nigeria except policy reversal ,after 7months a responsible govt must've by now have direction, there is a need for Nigerians to liberate themselves free from this oligachy bent of killing off Nigeria, the earlier this is done the better for the country called Nigeria!. with more than $400b stolen already and more still being stolen everyday ,I dare ask wither Nigeria!
Politics / Re: Ribadu Fired! by darren20(m): 1:15pm On Dec 29, 2007
Nigerians need to realize that that they've been held hostage by some group of individuals who are bent on doing things their own way, imposing their surrogates to be in power, and doing whatever they like, until an ordinary Nigerian realizes this truth and begin to systematically find a way out of their grip, the cycle continues,I heard some Military guys are already disgruntled about what is happening in Nigeria,Don't forget as Former US secretary of state for Africa once said 'Nigeria is a country where anything can happen!'We'll be waiting to see as recent events is unfolding
Politics / Re: The Intellectual Shallowness Of Our Leaders by darren20(m): 10:57am On Dec 29, 2007
It's quite unfortunate that we're still being ruled by sycophants who only mind their pockets,I will continue to emphasize on the fact that until Nigerians decides on a change,a change we so much desire may not be in view, until Nigerians says in one voice enough is enough,it will still be business as usual,Nigerians needs to rise up and stop all this nemesis going on,I forsee a country where there is plenty,a country where there is constant light and electricity,I could see a new Nigeria, where there is free education for all,a country where there is no difference between the north and south and west.I know Nigeria will get there,we sure will, but not until Nigerians rise up and demand a change,God bless Nigeria!
Politics / Re: Ribadu Fired! by darren20(m): 12:34pm On Dec 28, 2007
Who will save Nigeria from this thieves who are bent on milking the country dry!Power to change is in the hand of Nigerians, unless we rise up and demand accountability, end to corruption, nothing changes!I pity Nigeria.
Politics / Re: Iyabo Obasanjo In Contract Scandal by darren20(m): 11:31am On Dec 20, 2007
Who will save Nigeria?is there any hope for Nigeria? How long will it continued to be ruled by thugs,thieves,419 etc,a great country like Nigeria deserve better, a nation that has produced intellectuals like Prof Wole Soyinka etc and what are Nigerians citizen doing in the wake of this indictments, something must be done,Nigeria will be great again,if and if we determine to make the change.
Politics / Re: 3 Suggestion For The Nigerian Project by darren20(m): 12:10pm On Dec 14, 2007
Corruption is the bane of our problem in Nigeria, until this enemy is completely erased out,the struggles will still continue, come to think of it why is light not working, what contribute to the depreciating infrastructures, why are the roads bad, what is killing our schools, hospitals etc, everything can be traceable to corruption, until this is totally eradicated, there can never be any meaningful change in Nigeria.
Politics / Re: Yaradua Is Confused? by darren20(m): 12:02pm On Dec 14, 2007
You should've known by now that the man has no plan for Nigeria,He was'nt interested in becoming the President in the first place,I've tried to understudy the man and his achievements when he was governor of katsina state, the only thing he did was to abstain from corruption(not totally proven though).and you can judge a man by his history,i don't see any change during his tenure, is just business as usual, who will save Nigeria?
Politics / Re: The Toothless General Ibb by darren20(m): 10:19pm On Dec 11, 2007
@depilot,Liberia has gone through a transition phase, same with Ghana,Nigeria is yet to,It will definitely go through it's own because without transition there cannot be a meaningful change, people like Babangida are the enemy of the masses preventing this change by the immense wealth the'yve looted while in power, but we all know for a fact that change is inevitable,it will come no matter how long it will surely come and Nigeria the giant of Africa will be great again!
Politics / An Open Letter To The Attorney Gen.dr Michael Aondoakaa. by darren20(m): 10:05pm On Dec 11, 2007
Sir,
Permit me to congratulate you on your recent appointment as the attorney general and minister of justice,it is indeed a great honour,However there has been some issues that I want to bring to your notice,I know that though you may not be a nairalander, but I know you will have children who might be members and they will surely bring this letter to your notice.
I will first and foremost remind you that this great country belong to all of us,and having been given the opportunity to serve is a great honour, looking back at our country Nigeria in the 70's ,nobody would've predicted that we could ever be in this mess we are, unemployment, corruption etc but here we are,the purpose of record is for history, and no matter what you do,you will always be remembered for your part, history will always judge for no one can run away from history.
Since the inception of this government, there has been particular emphasis on the rule of law, this is a welcome development especially from what we've witnessed in the past governments, however sir, your conducts especially as it relates to corruption has been surprising, starting with the case of the EFCC,it is worthy of note that this agency which everyone knows that you have an issue with before becoming a minister was your first victim ,I believe this was not handled maturely, though EFCC might not be operating in an acceptable manner but your modus operandi to this effect is quite disgraceful you should've known that there are better ways to handle cases than on the front pages of newspaper, another case point is concerning the corrupt governors,it quite disheartening to know that you will be standing against the possible prosecution of this governors knowing fully well that they used to be your clients,By your actions especially in the area of corruption,Nigeria has not ceased to be laughing stock of the international community as a corrupt nation, your utterances to the press have been unbelievably incoherent ,and your style of administration has been less fashionable,I wonder what the future hold in stock for the youths if newbreeds are preforming this way, who's interests are you serving?
you wonder why people are asking for your removal, you will definitely serve your term, you will not be sacked, and Nigeria will bounce back, but what will the history write about you?what will the generations unborn know about aondoakaa?what legacy are you leaving behind?
I hope this write up will bring you back into reality.remember history will judge and Nigeria the giant of Africa will be great again!
Thanks for your time and God bless you.

Politics / Re: James Ibori And The People Of Delta 35 Billion . by darren20(m): 11:04am On Oct 07, 2007
for sometime now I've been studying the personality of Pres.Yar'adua, and it's most disheartning to know that this gentleman has no plan for Nigeria,He was n't interested in the first place,Iwatched his interview on CNN recently, and I was proved right, for the next few years of his reigh over Nigeria,it's going to be business as usual, this is clearly exemplified in the case of AGF versus Ibori, for the purpose of clarity check the man's background when he was the governor of katsina state,He was one of the most inactive governors,it's a pity that Nigeria is once again saddle with the responsibility of being rule by this man,I still pray for Nigeria hopefully things will change for better.
