Barbiturate: This job is just too demeaning! Bn waiting for this small boy for over 20 mins. He came out, asked me to open boot, then put his things and said I should give him another 5/10 mins that he's waiting for somebody. I just tried to tell him that I've been waiting for over 20 mins, Omo this boy said I should open boot, that he wants to cancel. I just weak! That's how two days ago after hustle I got a trip on indrive like 10km drive for 5k and it was towards my house Rider called immediately that I should wait at so so junction Got there and called that I'm there he said he's coming Omo his coming took over like 40mins I was patient Finally he came, put some stuffs in the trunk and said I should wait small for his friends that they're coming on bike After like 10mins they arrived While on the way they made some stops, immediately I clear the guy say na indrive trip and I don't entertain stops but he said make I no worry dem go sort me so i chill and when I arrived at the final destination they said I should take them back to where I picked them. Omo I just tire. The trip lasted like 2hr 30mins When we finally got to their final destination the amount dem transfer shock me. I wonder how bolt makes money in this town sha... I get your point boss But the reason why your experience was so was because the drivers themselves no longer deem it fit to offer the services which makes it luxury No driver will buy fuel 1300 and carry trip of 15km for 2800 and be happy |

Omoapena: Bros, I can bet it that you didn't use 20k fuel which is roughly 22liters to gross 80k online...
Send the trip details where it's showing the distance and the amount of the whole trips that gives you 80k and I will tell you, you didn't use 20k fuel to gross 80k now...
The offline trip I did on Monday that gave me 36k, I used about 13 litres of fuel which was mushin to Thomas estate and Abraham adesanya to airport.
So, if I'm using 13litres for that far distance to get 36k which was the fare bolt charged online and they both even tipped me 1500 collectively, tell me how you will now use 22litres to gross 80k on bolt now.
Pearl, I just believe now that you're a chronic liar...
Or, let's use Barbiturate case for instance, he did addo road to airport for 18500, let's even say he uses 6litre of fuel which is never possible but let's assume he used 6litre, how many times can we get 6litre from 22litres, that will be 3 and half times right?
And, Barbiturate did 18500 using 6litres, so, let's say he was lucky to be getting that same trip with same distance and amount for 3 and half times using 6litres for each trip.
So, that means 18500 multiply by 3 and half that will give us 64750.
Remember he uses 6litre to cover distance that will give him 18500, so 20k fuel which is 22litres will give him 64750 of same trip and same amount.
I believe addo road to airport is way more than 50km And there's no way 6litre can cover such distance but I just pegged it at 6litres to go with your imaginary 10km/l and I'm still not getting 80k with that calculation. @the bolded, you forgot to add gross And it wasn't 20k fuel he used to gross 80k it was 10k actually Let's keep whining ourselves |

Pearl1910: U are drawing impossible assumptions. Until u have agreed that increased price means low number of trips, then u will not see the implication. Bolt income is fixed at 25% of X If X used to be N100m daily before, now it's down to N40m. X has also reduced This definitely means Bolt income has dropped. You as a driver if currently u are grossing N80k daily and ur profit is 40k after deducting fuel 20k and commission 20k And u say this 40k is not enough, bolt should increase price, now Bolt increases the fare and u can only Gross 50k with 10k fuel and 12k commission. Now your take home is less than 30k. Pls which do u prefer? I want to believe the bolded is just an assumption |

Pearl1910: To an extent you are right. But I rather be a cowbell that sells cheap small small and has turnover and makes millions daily than be a peak milk that is expensive and has limited customers who only patronize them ones in a while. This links back to our previous argument, we all observed that when the price was increased, patronage reduced. So what do u think will happen if the price is set at that luxurious amount u are expecting? U will buy fuel and put and be set to work but u will not see the trip. Do u really think there are no alternatives to ehailing? Please tell us the alternative to ehailing that will carry riders from their house to their destination |

Pearl1910: I never said so. XGhost is using Volvo and has told u his margins, Barbiturate uses Muscle has told us he buys 20k fuel to make 40k Net. Accord and Muscle are same. So all things being equal Volvo, Camry and Accord users are still making profit.
So u which car are u using that u are not making profit? Next question, whose fault is it if you aren't making profit?? I never said I'm not making profit bro My argument is the profit margin has decreased significantly For example if I get a 15k long trip from my house, when I get to the destination, I will now have to wait for long hours for something juicy to pop up or opt to join them doing fastest fingers and be burning fuel with little profit just to meet up? |

Pearl1910: So whose fault is it if you use V6 engine to do transportation business?
I will gladly do a 20k trip for 2hrs. So if I work 10hrs I make 100k. Even if I use 30k fuel (which is very unlike) and pay commission 25k I go home with 45k.
However u want to twist it, 18k for Addo to Airport is not bad at all. Sometimes we suppose dey ask ourselves shey I fit pay this money wey I dey demand from other people However, if the ehailing coys wants to continue with their present pricing template then maybe they should create a category for riders to choose from A: Cars without AC, Bluetooth, no preference to dents whose duty is just to move from point a to b for these current prices. There will be no complain everybody is happy B: Cars that properly fit into the ehailing concept AC, Bluetooth and neat, option for number of riders or riders with loads with commensurate prices In these cases, riders can now pay for what they get Remember ehailing is supposed to be a luxury service. |

Nobody is saying because fuel went up 3X so fares should go up triple too
But remember there was a time 2k fuel will net 8k comfortably (profit is x4 of running cost).
When fuel rose to 500+, 10k fuel gives 25k net (that's X2.5 of running cost)
Now fuel is 950/l, 10k fuel gives 20k net. (that's X2 of running cost) Can you see the steady dwindle in profit on the same hustle using the same tool??
Just imagine when fuel hits 1400 or 1500 maybe then 10k fuel will give you 15k net. That's 5k profit excluding fuel and commission |

IFSHR: My brother I understand.. probably from my experience.. I rather just cherry pick, cos the trauma is always their in my case..
It’s just sad that it’s getting worse day by day.. the story of ehailing is quiet different here.. I have the opportunity of speaking to two or three of them.. same positive story, they make like 3k pounds monthly after paying commission, (average : 9-5 work) still have Health discount from Uber, discounted cards for Amazon and other. The last time I worked was on Sunday. My only problem is the insignificant increase in ride fares. When fuel rose to 500plus the price on bolt to vi from my axis was 10k-11k without surge o formerly it was like 7-8k Now fuel is now almost 1000/l, I was so surprised when that same Sunday I did a trip from my area to ikate on the island for 13k on bolt. And that was the damn estimate it showed when the trip showed on my phone and this was a trip I wanted to convert to offline but since it was an elderly woman I didn't have strength to start explaining what i mean by offline et al It was after we started moving the woman said I thought you will do it offline and I asked why, she said that's what almost all drivers that carries her asks cos of the fuel increase |

IFSHR: When did doing the right thing become wrong.. coupled with high rate of insecurity in the nation.. so many things can wrong on an offline trip, and it might not even be of your own doing….
I picked up a lady from a guy house one day like that, not knowing the idiot boyfriend already used abortion pill for the lady, the lady was bleeding in my car and fainted at the back, when I got to the destination, (I am not the chatty type of driver) so I didn’t know what was going on at the back till I got to destination), Me: I will be ending the trip now ? No response.
To cut the story shot, I had to drive the girls brother back to the guy House,( they pounced on me with emotion at first, my app saved me ) he was arrested, proceed to police station for reports, before I was allowed to leave.. imagine it the other way round. It's not a case of doing the right thing Nobody like to convert a trip to offline but the situation has forced our hands Imagine someone here (can't remember the moniker) did a trip from a whole addo to airport 18500(that a whole lot of money), his running cost (fuel and commission) is already like14-15k, his profit on that trip is not up to 4k and remember that trip would have lasted like 2hrs or more. These days I don't buy full tank cos to make that money back with profit may seem difficult Like pearl rightly said: We are just collecting big big money but our profit no increase. |
