PoliticsRe: How Chinese Firm Sabotages Power Supply – Fg by dave07(m): 11:44pm On Aug 22, 2011
Most times I laugh @ comments made on NL.
Nigerians and their excuses!
Manuals are written in Chinese so the World has ended?
So if you are the CEO of your own company, you will give out a contract of 220M dollars, only to have the contractor give you manuals written in chinese because that is his language not minding the fact that Chinese is never taught in your country?

Those PHCN staff have just been plain incompetent as usual.
yes, yet they have able to mantain your major power and transmissions systems all this years, whereas your chinese friend could not even mantain units they built for a year. there are PHCN staff who labor in day and night in power and transmission stations, making sure that what we have can be sustained, these are staff working in very hazardous areas yet not well renumerated and are not known as much as the meter readers and Nepa 2 you commonly find on the streets or offices or why couldnt the Army Engineers take over the running of power station as threatened sometimes last year.
Where is AES today, pls be better informed before making general statements.
i really agree with you, its the same lazy bone ineptitude that pervades anything that has to do with government in this country. If this same power plant was dashed out to this same ceo would he have sat down on his lazy bum all this years making excuses while the demand for power kept on increasing?

They all went to china, none of them was smart enough to learn the language?, o i forgot they were too busy spending our estacode! Bunch of I.D.I.O.T.S!
What manner of people benefitted from the trip and for how long was the trip? is it a trip that is determined by quota system, minstry of power interest or one that involves an assemblage of young, hungry for challenges and qualified technical personnel.
oh some think the fact of a unit that was repaired by PHCN engineers at Egbin as a 'publicity stunt'. but this act alone saved the country N100M, thank God your leaders didnt carry out the job with their chinese, japanese and india conspirators.

Bart Nnaji better not entertain these incompetent liars at the PHCN. They are mostly products of corruption, corrupt hiring, bad education and a terrible civil service culture, more importantly, the contractors colluding with these fools should all be tried and jailed with them. Until we start punishing people we won't get results.

Chinese manuals my assss, na so dem talk with the Ajaokuta steel mill, blaming Russian manuals. Who accepted the manuals in the first place? Chinese people tie dem brains? Buncha incompetent idiooooootas!!

If you buy that excuse, you are a certified Idioooot.
So it's the PHCN staff that award contract of that magnitude! for your information, the CEO of PHCN has a limit when it comes to award of contract, until some years back when british power was invited for consultancy towards privitization,I doubt if he could spend beyond N5M without the minister of power's approval. how many career staff were found culpable during the last power probe charade.

Bad education/ civil service nke? I bet you will hide your cv when you see some academic ane technical qualifications amongst people working very hard at turbines and control systems in the PS.

Iam so glad Prof is going round and is speaking up. I just hope he will not be {if he has not been} cautioned because this same SEEPCO at Olorunsogo was commended by the former minister of state for power barely six months ago when the station was unceremoniously handed over

@ Dave07 Am seriously interested in the M.SC program with University of Bath. I would love to know more about the course based on your personal experience. though, i have browsed their site. Again, wont the certificate they will issue after the program show it was by distant learning? Again, is it not possible for one to conclude the program in three yrs including the dissertation? i observed that its been long Dave07 came on this thread. so pls anybody here that has dave07 contact shld help me out. one love
Hi, Yes i have been off NL though i still manage to run thru at times without signing in. I have a certificate from EIT Australia for a power protection course I did online last year and it has no reference to distance or online learning. Bath's programmes are subjected to the same standards applicable to programmes in the Uk. Yes it is possible to complete the programme in 3 yrs. it's just a matter of completing 4 modules per year (2 during the spring Semester, March the other 2 during the Summer, September) and spending the third year up till June on your dissertation plus the fact that you will have to attend (5 days each)throughout the 3 years residential school 1-3 at Bath as these are part of the assesments.
The Course modules are quite challenging and up to date and the far better than what obtains here. You can get me on 08121635648

Moderators, isnt it so disheartening that you've allowed exam malpratices to flourish on NL? How do you explain the existence of that shameful thread on leaked WAEC papers enjoying viewing thus far https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-663775.0.html. . this thread out to be locked if not entirely deleted by now

Whats TVC, Abeg make I call my family to confirm jare.

Before we see Abracadabra
TVC is TV continental, a local TV station not listed on DSTV. I can confirm to you that I watched the REC (a former UI VC) hand over the results to party agent and officially declare Ajimobi Winner. No more Abracada.
Let Akala impose all the curfew he likes till May 28th. Another person is taking over. Good riddance!

Governor Gbenga Daniel's exceptionally bad performance has made people hate PDP in Ogun State.
True talk and 101% correct

What do people think about GEJ in Ogun State? Is it likely the governor's bad performance will affect him much.
Not realy, the presidential election is a different ball game entirely, many who voted for ACN will rather go for Jonathan in the next election!

I found this resource today. it helps you to know your senatorial district, Federal Areas, contestant and their profile. It works well especially when you have a voters card as it shows you your polling unit and collating centres. try it out, even if you dont have a voters card, at least you will know the people contesting huh

PoliticsRe: Who Is To Blame For Cancelled Election? Govt Or Inec by dave07(m): 5:57pm On Apr 04, 2011
Agreed Jega is to be blamed and he already accepted responsibility for the flop. Move on and thank God for a man who had to courage to say 'Iam sorry' and let him do the right thing.
BTW How many of you went out to vote on saturday?
PoliticsRe: INEC Postpones Parliamentary Elections Till Saturday April 9 2011 by dave07(m): 8:52pm On Apr 03, 2011
I was at the polling booth where more than 900people registered and less than 200 showed up for accreditation b4 the polls cancellation. from my observation most of the people were elderlyand brought by party agent who believed they had succeded iin buying voters. At the end however it was very clear that most of the people only took money from the agents and voted otherwise.
If the election had been allowed to go on there would have been very rude shockers for some prominent parties.
My question still is this, where are all the energetic young men and women analysers on NL during the election? Now that we are starting afresh, are we going to continue passing insults online or we go out to vote?
I believe so much in RSVP, I dont care who your candidate is or the party your allegience lies. What I saw yesterday gave me hope for Nigeria. Jega must be commended, agreed he faltered now, but he will get it right by God's grace.
Stop ranting on NL, COME OUT TO VOTE.
God bless Nigeria

Arm chair critic plenty for nairaland. Somebody for once decided to stop when he discovered that  the electoral process was going the usual  abnormal way, you castigate him. He's had the opportunity to consider the complaint of all stake-holder, you call him mumu. Most of you who enjoy all this name calling sef, are yet to even achieve 10% of what the people you abuse have achieved.
BTW, how many of you realy went out to vote yesterday in the first instance? Or you think all your 'talk' on NL, FB and twitter will amount to anything
PoliticsRe: The Official People's Democratic Party Presidential Primaries Thread by dave07(m): 12:23am On Jan 14, 2011
Yes Jason that was for Bauchi and GEJ won.
I think I love this counting being done per State.
Counting order now changed. Thank God it's a new Nigeria where people are voting based on reasoning and not some primitive zoning arguement.
I'd get the landslide victory figures tomorrow.
Goodnite all and Goodluck

@netotse
Happy new year my brother, we thank God and we are expecting greater things this year.
@axeman85, dont be discouraged by the present remuneration, but just try and learn all that you can for now. Presently in the nation's power sector sector, we are still way back technologically compared to what is obtainable in developing economies around the world. we are still battling with 'Quantity' and are yet to start discusing quality, standards and power industry best practices.
Brush up on your Electronics too cos today's power industry goes along with electronics and computing. Wishing you all the best. Cheers

GEJ has shown maturity over Atiku tonight, even offered an handshake after the speech

Isnt Atiku contesting against two people, or has Atiku written off Sarah Jubril as if she was never there? Why all this roundabout, I thought the court order has been vacated, Abeg let GEJ sspeak and let's see if he will also disgrace himself like Atiku. Funny enough PDP is pretending to be law abiding
