Let favor be shown to the wicked, yet will they not learn righteousness, in the land of the upright they will still deal wickedly
Hence there is no amount of reasoning or proof you can give to that will make many of those blaspheming to have a re-think

But these people mock and curse the things they do not understand. Like animals, they do whatever their instincts tell them, and they bring about their own destruction. 11 How terrible it will be for them! For they follow the evil example of Cain, who killed his brother. Like Balaam, they will do anything for money. And like Korah, they will perish because of their rebellion.

Because we serve a God on whose behalf, we are not permitted to take up the sword to fight and kill, For the sake of your servants who are severely maligned in judgement by people You have not given such rights to and for the sake of Millions who are constantly misinformed and led astray by ungodly threads on this forum, Lord Almighty Arise and Let every mocker on this forum know that you are God and You are the Lord who calls. So be it!

There was a time when I stopped posting on NL because I saw in several cases a total disregard for decorum, respect and valuable intelligent contributions and fools are rather made to dominate Threads but I had to quickly send in a reply when I saw someone was about to be misled into heresy. And I think, it's time for sensible and intelligent folks to show all this Godless and NL rascals that enough is enough.

Iam even surprised this is just making frontpage, probably the mods didnt get enuf of their bashing companions to reply so far. At times I just wonder how some people find it so easy to abuse and make all manner of derogatory remark against people who are 1. old enough to be their Fathers, if not Grandfathers in a properly cultured African Society. 2. have contributed immensely to the growth and well being of the country, that even this mockers and co can never achieve just 10% of what this people have done in their entire life time and more importantly 3. Men of God who hav been serving God and are accountable to God. it is especially so dis-heartening that NL is now a forum where respected men of God are given unprintable names and ridiculed simply because manners-deficient individuals can hide behind Pen names and the internet to hurl insults they should have given to their parents back home. it so sad sad

morning. . .how's work?

when did you start your program? they say they designed it to take 3- 4 years, do you plan to finish it faster? Really nice idea sha, puts you in a very good position for when the management contractors come. I like the CPD option better though, maybe when i can afford it i'll take the market econs module(cant remember the exact name though). Are you coren certified?
fine,
you are allowed to finish within five years, but realy it takes 3yrs to complete with all the necessary residential schools, if you are going for the M.Sc. If you stop at PGD you may not need the 3rd residential, which is basocally for you to defend your project.
the CPD option is easier wrt funding.
yes Iam coren registered

Iam directly under a the sub-region linked to  Osogbo and may not realy know those guys xcept ur man  Engr Nwachukwu who is now the RTM, Osogbo, the SCADA people have undergone a lot of transformation with new people lately. I'd remember to give you a call when next I come to ABJ.

@Chapi
During my time HND holders wrote the NSE graduation Exams (a two-part exam run annualy). it had the similar sylabus with most PGD in Engineering in Nigerian University, only that it was an external exam model and lot of people then hardly scaled through. On succesful completeion, one is awarded 'graduate engineer' then you apply for corporate membership, take the oral and written tests and if sucessful, you are taken in as a member.
However, Iam aware the NSEGE has been stopped, so you will need a PGD before applying for corporate membership of NSE and to be a Registered Engineer with Coren

I've read some of your post and discovered you've been here before but I cant say if our paths av realy crossed. Iam presently under Osogbo region carved out from Lagos. yes a couple of our guys are into SCADA, but the major work is still currently being handled by contractors especially Siemens. Bath runs a distance learning M.sc in Power systems, you only get to travel for residential schools thrice (each lasting five days).I believe Siemens Nigeria will soon begin training course specially tailored for the power sector. Thanks too

I want to realy commend you on a good job you are doing here and realy netotse and others have been sharing wonderful post too. I almost quit nairaland somrtimes back cos of some abuses and lack of decorum I find on most threads, but this section endeared me more to the site, so that even when I stopped posting messages, i always checked on this section as a guest. Pls continue to make this thread unique!
Iam an Electrical Engr. in the nation's main power sector industry (Transmission sector), had HND Electrical (Power &machines),2000; Nigerian society of Engineers Graduateship Exam, 2003 and a corporate member of NSE. Have been working in PHCN since 2001 (had some stint in the distribution sector, Grid metering now Market operations Hq and am presently in systems operations and by the side also working with the protection & control crew.
I have just completed a certificate course in Power systems protections from EIT/IDC south africa (e-learning) and am currently enrolled for the M.Sc Electrical power system by distance learning from the University of Bath.
Iam targetting specialization in Substation automation because we are gradually moving to the boom of the power sector and one must be well positioned for this.
it's not been easy running some of the programmes I've done so far but the fact that all our institution of learning in the country are realy not prepared for the training of engineers in the current emerging technologies, every engineer worth his salt must in nigeria must go an extra mile in order to stay relevant. this is my brief. thanks

PoliticsRe: Who Is Afraid Of Phcn Privatisation? by dave07(op): 2:27pm On Oct 30, 2010
its true na.

If not, all of you selling generators will come back here to blame government on loss of job.
so they are also afraid of improvement in the power sector, having enjoyed the boom from the sector's decadence all this year at the expense of the masses.
then it must also be true that they contributed greatly to the inefficiency of nepa/phcn. if they are not 'settled' like Mr speaker hinted, will the power sector reform survive?
PoliticsWho Is Afraid Of Phcn Privatisation? by dave07(op): 2:08pm On Oct 30, 2010
For long and even in recent times, many have labeeled the staff labor Unions in PHCN as saboteurs and enemies of stable power supply in the country, but what do we make out of the report below courtesy of Guardian Newspaper
Govt seeks N135b to pay off PHCN workers
THE Presidential Task Force on Power yesterday informed the National Assembly that the sum of $900 million (N135 billion) was being packaged as severance pay for some 50,000 workers of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) and other related firms in the power sector that would be affected by the privatisation programme in that sector.
During a meeting with Speaker, House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, at the National Assembly, Presidential Adviser on Power Sector, and chairman of the task force, Prof. Bart Nnaji, disclosed that the PHCN, as currently constituted, would be replaced by over 18 firms next year when the privatisation programme would start off.
But Bankole, in a swift response, urged the task force to accommodate the interests of generator and diesel dealers in the power sector reforms to ensure that their businesses, which he described as “multi-billion dollars per annum,” were not lost. Nnaji listed the challenges faced by the PHCN to include huge debts, saying: “There is a high operating cost in the company, gulping over N8 billion yearly, in which workers’ salaries and pension take 80 per cent of it.”
Lamented that 70 per cent of the cost of running the sector was incurred at the distribution business level, Nnaji stressed that “the whole idea for the future of the sector is to cut a good deal for the workers for a more efficient power output for the country. When the workers would have been laid off, we would enter into an agreement with the new owners of the companies to absorb them. There is no way the new owners would work without trained and experienced workers. So, most of the workers would be fully re-engaged after entering into a new contract with the new owners.”
On the severance deal in the works for the PHCN workers, the presidential adviser declared: “We are already working out a $900 million (N135 billion) severance package for them with the CBN for appropriation in the next budget.”
Nnaji also disclosed said that several foreign investors had already shown great interest in Nigerian power sector with a view to buying in to the proposed reforms.
http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=27389:govt-seeks-n135b-to-pay-off-phcn-workers&catid=1:national&Itemid=559

so the interest of generator/diesel should be pursued still, if we are to enjoy power supply?

Beloved, no issue is difficult to fathom, you dont even need to try explaining. it either you accept the Prophecy and act as instructed or reject it and deal with consequences.
i cant add further comment to this issue cos NL really analysed it all
but wat i can say is this, many people make predictions n they too dont come thru, phaps he was trying to say all in all we should pray more cos do believe me a natural disaster can hit 9ja
NL has no business analysing the prophecy and has even done nothing near that. What you have seen so far is an abuse of the forum by some people who think they know all, but hardly know a thing. Let them keep on insulting men of God as they deem fit, there is always a reward. Let Seun and his moderators continue to also profanity and direct insults while deleting other posts they consider 'offensive' but which are nothing in comparision with the blasphemy that goes on unhindered on NL.
Jessefly, when God sent JOnah to Nineveh to warn the city on an impending destruction and God later rescinded that decision after the people repented and prayed, did that decision make Jonah a false prophet?
When Moses picked a non-isreali wife contrary to God's laid down principle on marriage among Isrealites. Miriam and Aaron kicked, but do you know they were punished by God, Even when it seems they were fighting God's cause against the Man of God.
Anyone who is not truely a child of God will never see or Understand this truth, because Scriptural truths can Only BE UNDERSTOOD BY SPIRITUALY SOUND MINDS.
Pls dont be dissuaded by ungodly counsels on NL.

"However, while the President completes his recuperation, Vice President Jonathan will continue to oversee the affairs of state," the statement said.

1. disagree with this manner of power transfer cos it's unconstitutional
2.make the FEC meeting of Wednesday do the right thing, i.e declare the President incapacitated
3. withdraw all those money wasting ventures to see Yaradua by house of rep and instead encourage NASS send team of doctors to saudi in line with the constitution
4. wait for the NASS to act based on 2-3 above
5. Fire aondoaka and request NJC or whosoever to pls remove that SAN title he has.

PoliticsPhcn Reverses Power Rationing Arrangement by dave07(op): 12:21pm On Sep 10, 2008
Punch newspaper today 10th september, 2008
The Management of Power Holding Company of Nigeria Plc has announced a reversal of the current 12-hourly nationwide power rationing arrangement.

In a statement on Tuesday the PHCN said rotational rationing from 12 midnight to 12 noon and 12 noon to 12 midnight, the schedule will be reversed starting from Thursday September 11, 2008.

The statement said, “Zones that had hitherto enjoyed power supply predominantly in the day time would now have it at night and vice-versa. This is to ensure even distribution of the limited generation out-put from functioning power plants.

“While Management sincerely thank its esteemed customers for their understanding and co-operation since the commencement of the nationwide 12-hourly zonal power rotational rationing on July 4, 2008, it re-assures that everything possible is being done to sustain the improvement in power supply.”

Recent estimate indicate that power supply have risen above the 3,000 megawatts mark largely on account of improved water sypply to the hrdro stations.
how have you been enjoying the 12 hour 'uninterrupted' supply in your area?
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Signs Nuclear Agreement With Iran by dave07(m): 6:18pm On Aug 29, 2008
@papa_dims
do we really need nuclear for power generation? YES, since since our current policies failed to deliver.
It is an indisputable fact that Nigeria has abundant gas reserve, part of which are being wasted in gas flaring but which ought to be channeled into useful venture like electricity generation. ever wondered how mobil, chevron, etc are so self sufficient in Electricity generation and supply for their businesses? the raw material for electricity is abundant here in Nigeria.

There is a  long standing study which shows tha the mambilla fall in Plateau can conveniently produce 10000MW but the IBB went on then to build a 600MW hydro station in shiroro.

Solar resources in nigeria far outweighs what is obtainable in most part of the west where solar energy is employed to give Electicity.
So I still insist That No we do not require niuclear for our electricity generation

can we manage this nuclear plants? YES, we can train qualified candidates for the job.
how many people have been trained so far in modern day electricity generation, transmission and distribution. just look at what is obtainable in present day engineering works and you will be appalled by the old and out-dated equipment and staff we have in our system compared to other nations. how far has the local content policy in the oil sector gone? major works are still being done by expatriates. those you even refer to as being 'qualified' ultimately end up unemployed.

are we informed and equipped on how to manage mishap? we can be taught and learn.
who will do the teaching and the learning. NOA, NTA or key government agencies who themselves do not realy understand anything related to this.

on policies, is it when we have failed to encourage private-public partnership in previous and present attempts at revamping the power sector with the knowledge of known variables (gas, water, sunlight), that we will now get our policy right with unknown and controversial variable(nuclear)?
I am not against change, but I feel we must pursue needed changes more truthfully. The Nuclear thing is not religious, nor etnic but another misinformed decision steathly brought up to create another drainpipe for wasteful venture all at the expense of tax payers and oil
producing
polluted states
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Signs Nuclear Agreement With Iran by dave07(m): 4:47pm On Aug 29, 2008
Let's face the issue squarely and put out sentiments and religious bias.

do we realy need nuclear for power generation? - no
can we manage nuclear plants in the country?- no
are nigerians informed enough and better equipped for any nuclear mishap?- no
can the present govt tenure outlast the completion of a nuclear facility in the country?-no
is a nuclear power station construction cost effective compared to our other facilities?- no

so what are we talking about. pls lets drop this unreasonable jabbings and look at the issues, objectively and more  reasonably.

Is that agreement a Nigerian decision in favour of nigerian masses and will it favour the cause of the nigerian nation?
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Signs Nuclear Agreement With Iran by dave07(m): 3:47pm On Aug 29, 2008
Is it this same Nigerian nation that has been unable so far to use her own safe, naturally endowed and abundant resources of water, gas and sunlight to produce at least 10,000MW of electricity?
Is it the same nation that now wants to partner with Iran for the highly risky nuclear reactors that even Iran and mighty russia have only been able to tame just to get out 1000MW.
Wetin be the problem of our leaders and policy makers, abi should we privatize government too before we begin to get reasonable and common sense decisions and policies
