beaf common grow up that article was written in 2001. dont come as if yor man is saint jonathan.
2001, just barely a year after 3000 people (official report o!) lost their lives in the very same State.
He came out again, was it in 2003? and vomited 'Muslims should vote only for Muslims'.
Contrary to his stupid beliefs, most Muslims in Nigeria are actually level-headed human beings. As usual, he lost.
Is this what you call a politician?

In 2007, he assumed his normal position.

Now, 2011, he don change party, come keep quiet; make e no worry, e know im normal position.
If he like make e use walking stick come contest, e know im place.

I don't have much to say.
PoliticsRe: Northern Governors Are Traitors –kaita, Yakassai by Dave6: 1:54pm On Jan 16, 2011
Everyone is free to vote whoever he feels he should vote for.
Please, ethnic or religious bias will take us nowhere, but only backward. We've achieved one great thing in this country that has not been done in most countries, even in those that accuse ours of massive corruption - a truly transparent election and we hope we maintain this during the elections in April.
PoliticsRe: Northern Governors Are Traitors –kaita, Yakassai by Dave6: 1:41pm On Jan 16, 2011
Those two old fools no go siddon make peace reign? Why is it that in Nigeria we have enough elderly people that lack common sense? Was the election supposed to be a North/South affair? These things will just go out talking rubbish; how many people here in the North would in their normal senses vote Atiku? Please keep tribal/ethnic sentiments aside. Most of my peeps here (Northerners; Muslim or Christian) no send Atiku. And Most people in the north don't care who leads, so far s/he's competent and we see positive changes. The election exercise was carried out b/4 our very eyes; it was free and transparent. Which one is all this illitrate talk?
PoliticsRe: Presidential Debate - Battle Of The Campaigners by Dave6: 1:21am On Jan 16, 2011
Quote from Kobojunkie
Why take a risk with a government and party that in the last  12  years has shown you, clear as day, that it does not have  your good at heart and will throw you the occassional bone to appease you so it can continue to enrich itself at your own  detriment?  Why sign over another 4  years of your life, your children's  future, to the same confirmed evil? Why pin it all on HOPE,  which has so far not panned out for you, when you can change things now for your own GOOD?  You point out that someone like Ribadu will need a relatively  stable political atmosphere to perform but you forget that the same applies to Jonathan in this. These two men apply have  some sort of dependence on their BABYSITTERS(corrupt/cabal)  in order to gain or stay in office and probably will have to  check with their BABYSITTER to decide what they can  accomplish and what they can't.   So far, after 8  months, Jonathan has yet to PERFORM. No sign  of any attempts by the current administration to fight  corruption at any level, you want to think of. Even the security situation in the country seems to have worsened in that  period. How do we interprete that?
My Sis you're very right; I agree with you. But we are dealing with the final candidates available for the elections in April. For me, GJ would be a more logical choice at the moment. Our children would still not forgive us if we vote in another fresh set of cabals that will hold us ransom for their own 12 years. We still have such people in the other parties; its's just that they've not entered aso rock.
What the country needs is a set of truly dedicated persons who will work selflessly for progress even without declaring any ambition for political posts. Not when election period approaches, one dude would just appear from nowhere hollaring: this sector, in shambles; that one, a shame; disgrace this disgrace that. Meanwhile, they were part of the whole problems at some point.
What we need is a change in attitude as a people in this country, not a change of political party.

Quote from Jason123
Tinubu has no power over Ribadu (atleast, when he gets there, he would have no power). Moreover, a vote for GJ is a vote for  ObJ, IBB and the rest of the cabal.
Why did you just assume that? How are you not sure that the country would be in the same predicament it's in now (same toilet, different sh.it) + why do you think GJ won't do what you assumed above in due time?
Do you think that when Ribadu assumes the no.1 position he would just immediately ignore or get rid of his corrupt party members/cabals?

I've looked critically at the two most tangible candidates GJ and Ribadu. Initially I hoped for the latter to contest for presido, but you have to realise something -
1. he can't be a one-man gang; there are corrupt people in all the parties, whether pdp or acn.
2. Jonathan is a product of obj? Ribadu is also a product of obj!
3. GJ at least has 8 months experience as the president; Mr Ribadu is a fresher to politics (forget efcc)

Let's just take this last risk with a government that's just about to get on its feet with the Hope for a better and permanent change; cos someone like Ribadu would need a relatively stable political atmosphere to perform and sincerely we as a country can't afford going backward due to an inexperienced leader; besides one problem we've always had in this country is lack of continuity (once one gov't finishes with its party problems and from the drawing board, it's out without effective (if any) implementation and another gov't comes in and goes to its own drawing board)

Quote from Jason123
My brothers and sisters, the messiah has come. He has come  to replace our corrupt mentality with hard work. He has come  to fish out our corrupt leader and hold them accountable. He  has come to lead us to a brighter and better Nigeria.  His  name is Buhari!!!
Quote from Jason 123
Fellow Nigerians, what has Jonathan done that is worthy of  praise?  He has had his "test-run" as the president of  our great nation and what has he achieved, if not  more anarchy, chaos and disorder . He is in a party that  has brought unimaginable suffering to us, to the ordinary  Nigerian citizens. Do we have to continue electing this evil  party into power? PDP has spent over 11  years in power and  yet they have not achieved anything, infact, the political party  almost split the country into two. A party that her members  threatens the unity of this country. Is that what you all want? Meanwhile, we have another option and it is ACN. You have all seen ACN's achievements in Lagos and Edo state. Do you not  want all that to be in your states? My people, RIBADU is the  change.
Pls Jason123 Who exactly are you advocating for?

Atiku would give everything for a second chance. He must  have realized belatedly that his speech was just ideal for the  National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, convention, not a presidential convention.

Quote from Kredo

After 9  months in office in which Jonathan failed to achieve  much, he comes to a convention where his records are  questioned and he sidesteps them because he has no record  to defend and some people call that maturity? Well Nigeria will not get better anytime soon.
I'm not a pdp member, but let's be realistic; how much do you expect him to achieve?
Considering how he got to be the president and the existing political atmosphere in Nigeria, what wonders do you expect him to perform?
Where I may agree he was too cool was on the issue of security - where perpetrators of those crimes have not been brought to justice. But it could be viewed as a strategic move to be patient to win the votes of most delegates and getting into power following the elections under his own ticket as the President. Then, will you see the action you've been waiting for.
I will vote the best candidate regardless of party or any sentiments; as for pdp, out of their 3 aspirants GEJ seems to make sense.
As for the other parties, most of them are just the same old peeps - na by force to dey gov't? They seem rather
desperate always making noises; must they enter the presidency before they can make positive change to their country?

PoliticsRe: PDP Convention: Live Report by Dave6: 8:22pm On Jan 13, 2011
From all that has occurred today it is obvious Jonathan is much more refined and matured than Atiku.
He touched on senstive and important issues from healthcare to security to fuel to power/energy supply and also gave firm reassurance of progress and transformation in his administration.
This was more of what reasonable citizens would want to hear.
Sincerely, Atiku basically did nothing on stage but claim what he never did when in gov't and even spoke words that contradicted his lawless attitude when he was the vp. Condemning actions which he was no. 1 at perpetrating. The most irritating part is that he was busy threatening chaos on that stage and literally throwing insults at the president; definitely not the kind of virtue we would want in our president.
