Ok make I go read am |
Oga Demdem, are you insinuating that the three gentlemen you mentioned above were innocent at the time of their incaceration by Buhari? |
All this madness go end in 6 days' time make we fit hear word! |
Exactly! |
I thought basically, INEC was supposed to be an INDEPENDENT body funded by the government and guided by certain constitution. How come this setback is blamed on the administration of one of the candidates? |
@ efisher I can understand with the BB followers; many Nigerians have gone through a lot of pain through most of the 12 years of democracy, of which PDP had been the ruling party. But still, this BB thing is not the way. It's just a campaign driven largely by emotion and sentiment. Apart from 'removing the PDP', what else is there to achieve? I and many well-meaning Nigerians on ground (and not on the internet pls) refuse to be taken away by this online 'wildfire' of display of tantrums and sentiments. What I will support and be part of is a credible and formidable opposition built up not months toward elections, but from day 1 of inaugration of President GEJ, regardless of his efforts in the following 4 years, with the sole aim of achieving the Best for my country, my generation, for me. For BB supporters, you all know within your hearts that the sole reason you support Buhari s because you want a political party (PDP) out of power ( Understandable ), and you know your CPC candidate is not the candidate we (Nigerians) sought for. This is not a game of football. This is your future! I try to imagine a Buhari-led gov't, sincerely, I see no difference. It might even get worse. Pls support your Buhari to the polls. But I advise you, from the moment the results are announced, make up your mind to begin the build-up of a formidable and credible opposition, driven by true and selfless passion, being represnted by true individuals with the interest of our nation as a whole at heart. |
Well, from what I can see there are a lot of links/references to show that Buhari made such a statement in 2008. All the newspapers just couldn't gang up to publish lies against him. But think deeply for a while here pls; It is said that Buhari is a very principled person who would not want to associate himself with any form of corruption and many of his supporters date this attribute from when he was a military ruler. The Question: Why did he decide to be part of Abacha's government despite his strict principles? No, seriously, we all know how Abacha's gov't was. So gist like the gov't wasn't corrupt shouldn't even come up. And one more tthing, if Buhari could say allegations of Abacha's looting were not backed by facts, I really wonder what sort of war on corruption he would embark upon when given a slight opportunity to be president; at least, from past records we would expect it to look something like his executed PTF projects. Won't we? |
This is one of the biggest problems we have in this country - our attitude to doing the right things at the right time, esp with these 'old people' wey no wan change. This Jega and his Inec people forgot that today was the 1st election day or what? After all these months of preparation he can still open his mouth to say voting materials had not reached some states. Wetin they dey use transport am - Albasa airline? We just hope we won't hear another gist on Monday. |
Sontin dey worry all of una o! Ok! Fresh Air! Una no go kill pesin wit laff. Chei! |

@Sibe007, GBAM GBAM GBAM! Are the PDP members not Nigerians? I always ask this question. Maybe through some mysterious way a large group of villains from the underworld gathered to form PDP. As if everyone outside the PDP is pure. I don't love or hate the PDP, but change of political party is very unlikely to change much as some people insinuate here. I hope Nigerians will vote based on the individual from the available candidates. |
Quote from Eko Ile Why is it paining you? Are you feeling unintelligent?^^^ If you had some SA friends, I bet they'd have been laughing their a.sses off! What sort of response was that? I made an observation and advised insults to be reduced here, and you're asking why it's 'paining' me. Errmm nothing is 'paining' me eh. |
Which kind arguments some people dey come make for here sef? Some people really need to tone down on their insults here. I see no reason why someone would be insulting Nigerians as a whole as 'unintelligent', 'unpatriotic', 'dunces', 'daft', 'cretins', just because they do not share the same views with you or as for a certain individual, his SA friends are always laughing at him. Some have even started following the spelling ability of others and in the process, exposing themselves. You should understand some people use devices that have small buttons and they try to reply certain comments hastily. Abeg whether you're in space at the moment, pls endeavor to participate in this forum like civilised people, not coming here to practise use of insults you probably 'learnt' from wherever you are. |
As Seun rightly said @ the OP, it's very likely that the story isn't true. But if by chance it is, then there is a part missing by either the narrator (Pastor Bakare) or the journalist was just another quack: Since P. Bakare claimed he sought for the opportunity to leave Nigerian politics and such an opportunity (for him and for his very beloved country) for a vibrant candidate to take the position of VP came along, WHAT WAS HIS RESPONSE TO BUHARI WHO ASKED HIM WHETHER HE WAS READY TO DO JUST THAT? Secondly, isn't Okonjo-Iweala a Nigerian and a person of her own? If Obj/Ibb or whoever recommended her, so what? Was she qualified? Wasn't it a great opportunity for Buhari to demonstrate to Nigerians that the end to political 'godfatherism' had arrived and ensuring that Obj and co. would have no influence on individuals appointed to any office? With his 'anticorruption stance', I don't even think anybody recommended by the 'devil' go wan enta office mess up! |
So what was the reason for Buhari, Ribadu and Shekarau not coming for the debate? This would have been the opportunity for them to show their stuff! Other Presidential candidates that were invited throughout the whole exercise honoured the invitation. Or is it because the President did not attend an earlier arranged debate, they too decided to miss this widely broadcast one? |
Which kind beer parlour story be this one? Let's see whether their 'expo' go match. Before you know dem go talk say na type 'B' questions the panel comot give Jonah, while na type 'A' leak comot. Abeg johhhhhhh! |
Quote from Pharoh We cannot have them in power because we are hypocrites, people were condemning BON as a debate that was not credible but it was the only platform where utomi was finally heard. The same people clamoring for change are the same people who did not see anything wrong for NN24 picking the top 4 candidate that excluded utomi. The election is between cpc and pdp forget acn and anpp because just like utomi if you do not contest on the platform of the big parties. Look at the people praising utomi and check their signature to know who they are actually supporting. Shekarau performed well in the debate but people will still vote buhari and ribadu over him. That is why i am just laughing at some people shouting change on the internet. If the progressives cannot support a person like pat utomi or donald duke then they blew it.You just said the simple truth my brother! |
Because not everybody does the right things at certain times. |
Of course, recording by cameras/phones of the voting process of individuals (i.e recording who you or any other person voted for while casting his vote) should not be tolerated. Monitoring of the whole process should be organised and respect the privacy of individual voters. |
I don't think such a suggestion will ever be taken seriously. Haba! People will simply not come out to vote! The whole exercise is even supposed to be aired on State Tvs. |
I have not travelled to the South. But I've heard from peeps that have gone there that those roads are terrible. And it has been so for decades. Fact: Most good roads that were built in the North were done during Abacha's regime by PTF. And I think a better and faster job was done than what we've seen throughout this democratic dispensation. Always heard from peeps (Northern and Southern), since I was young then, that the roads toward the South had been really bad; so I don't think it has anything to do with weather. There are also really harsh weather conditions esp. In the N/E. |
O these PDP bloodsuckin' . . .oops! ![]() |
Which kind poll result be this? |
^^^ Very True talk |
Maybe we should wait for a response from NTA, to know the actual contents of the ad. |
Haba guy! Donate kidney? Sharp sharp, I no go even think am nah!I can do anything for anyone I love, so far it's beneficial for at least both of us! even though they may not understand at the time. |
That has actually been found out scientifically. Naturally, the human brain would like to relate itself with something generally pleasing to the senses. But Generally, everyone is potentailly beautiful/attractive; just depends on on how one takes care of and carries his/her self. |
