ChildOfDoom: As harsh as what i am about to say might sound, there is no cure. Even if you work, you will dupe your employers to gamble. Use your salary too. You will drop out of school, steal to gamble, sell your properties and that of family members & friends, just to play bet9ja virtual. No amount of advice or prayer from an elder, priest or pastor will make you stop. Even beating from community boys or arrest, won't work. It's just one year you started. You should rather be scared of your future misfortunes, not small 300k. By 2022, your debts/troubles will be worse. People should avoid any financial dealings with you for their own good. I am speaking as a bet9ja addict too. Since 2015. I am miserable and unfortunate in life. The earlier the govt sees bet9ja as the new enemy of the youths, the better No matter how worse it may sound to you, God can reposition your destiny, trust me on this. Your 360% turnaround is possible if YOU BELIEVE!!! |

extol1: I have forgotten that Nigeria has a Senate president just like the vice president as well. I only know of the president and his cabals. I don't think you have much to say regarding this, Mr rubber stamp. I thought people were saying Saraki as at the Senate president was the one drawing Nigeria progress backwards, this present one will be worst. Former Senate president is the best SP we ever had since 1999.The eight Senate passed the highest number of bills, they were resolute in making drastic important decisions to salvage the country from the executive. This present Senate is in a mess, am sorry to say!!!! |

superlanny: This is the height of gross misconduct, how can a wife be so lazy, that she can't exercise and look sexy for her husband. Do you know how many times the sight of those stretch marks will have wanted to make him vomit, this is one of the reasons why mean cheat, I mean if dem give you nkwobi mixed with goat meat or ordinary soup with dried fish, which one will you choose. Women need to step up their game, the ladies outside are like wolves waiting to pounce on prey. Better find correct anti stretch marks cream or something, and do some exercise. That man, for me o, is a Hero. For loving his wife so much, still cohabiting with her. Puke....puke...puke.... Ladies up your game o, so you won't end up on nairaland front page. What are you saying? What her husband did was totally wrong and uncalled for please |

doitforyou: They should just scrap “for better for worse” in the marriage wows of a Nigerian wedding.
Husbands are justified in dissolving a marriage because the woman is infertile. We are now justifying husbands being inhuman and cruel to their spouse because of the wife’s diagnosis.
Indeed we can’t force your husband to be loving and compassionate to you when you need him most. I am sorry OP but your husband doesn’t love you, what kind of love changes or become cruel at the first sign of trouble? You don’t only love and support someone when everything is copacetic. Even if he couldn’t handle your illness, the way he treated you when you were down is very cruel and not human. Marriages are really solely for reproduction.
Hypocritically, a woman is expected to stand by her husband through thick and thin.
OP, I rarely tell people to leave their spouses but I want you to use this episode as an eye opener and go back with your head, now you know what time it is with your husband. Personally, he’s dead to me. Thank you for this rare advice. please, think my sister, am sorry, your husband is not a man at all. After two kids andhe's behaving like this.Brace up, keep going cos your kids look up to you. |

Family › Re: My Friend's Wife Keeps Disturbing Me For Money by Davefate: 10:38am On Dec 28, 2019 |
You are to be very careful in this issue. Firstly, is there any secret feelings, relationship between both of you, may be in the past? If no, well, how come the woman was making such move all time and you obliged by giving her without informing her husband who's your friend about her request? Call your friend, meet with him one on one, show proofs of what has been going on, let him realise you have good intention towards his family but you find it shameful to continue in that regards without informing him. Any decision he takes, accept it, if it's ugly or negative, deal with it, learn from it and let it go. Thanks |

A lot of Nigerians don't understand what it takes to become army officers talk less of war general like our president. This man sowore will see another side of the army general. I went to command school, I have related with army officers before, they are the list people on earth to convince about anything. Once they determine to do anything, it will take God and their superiors to stop them.Sowore was instrumental to this administration in 2015, you reap what you sow. Prison is loading for him based on what we saw in court today oh!!!! |

Bro, don't tell her by yourself, be wise please. You must open up, don't start your life's journey on a wrong path.but tell someone she respects a lot about it, her devilish friend may come after you later, never trust some devilish friend who doesn't like any good thing happening to their friends or family. The deed had already been done, open up and this sense of guilt will disappear.nothing set free like truth, pray she forgives and forget soon enough. |
Politics › Re: Darkness pervades the country as national grid collapses again by Davefate: 11:41am On Nov 09, 2019 |
Kanade21: The problem with power is that we need at least $100billion to fully replace and upgrade the grid., and even more hundreds of billions to improve generation as well. Especially since the grid is in a mess. And cannot even carry the power safely.
That's why power was privatised in 2014, so as to bring in funding for the sector. The problem is, most Nigerians don't pay for the little power they use. Then the law setting up the privatisation does not allow DISCOS to set the price...driving away foreign investors (and if the govewrnment revokes the law,and prices go up, people will shout opression), the banks don;t want to lend because they know they won't see their cash, and so on.
So far, all we have is the government plan to improve generation to 11000mw...which isn't enough anyway. And to be frank, we need power at 40000 MW before we even start seeing improvements. Lagos needs 10000mw for 24 hour light.
Yes, government has failed...but, without defending APC , PDP too has no answer to the power problem. Nor do any of the parties. Even if your Atiku took over, the sector is still going to face the issues I have enumerated.
It is either Nigerians are ready to face the truth and pay for improved power...government and people, or we forget about it, and keep on using generators.
And yes, before you shout...that is how some of us used to bash PDP until 2013...when this privatisation thing came up, and some of us had to do some reading and face the harsh truth and realise the problem is beyond PDP and APC. Nigeria needs a lot of money, possibly beyond what we have to fix power. Time we faced the truth. The problem we are currently facing as a nation in the power sector is a self-caused problem. As an engineer, nothing stop us to generate minimim5000 megawatt every year but some powerful people will make sure it does not happen. We have the money, we can hire expatraite with our own engineers to generate and have well structured orgnisation that will put the nail on the coffin for black out in this country but the demons will not allow that to happen. Can you what dangote is doing in his refinery, if it federal govt doing that, it will not see the light of the day till now, my God help us oh! |
