Onyi Echegini have done well even though she has lost some share of possessions! She have created few chances but again
Our double pivots behind her are too far away because of defensive duties, Maybe one of Debbie/Ayinde need to be a little be offensive. But again we have done well…

If Asisat Oshoala is to come in she need to do the pressing Job Ihezuo is doing at least so that they won’t be able to play from Behind…

Again where is Thembi Kgatlana??
sA are too bold to attempt playing her alone upfront asif she's some Osimhen of sort. Smh.

I dunno why i feel the press will drop if zee comes on. Let's see how the midfielders rotate joining attack sha. Cos for now that means 6 defending against the 4 playing in our half.

I think the plan is for both Ayinde and Debbie to sit. If that's the case I'll rather play Toni Payne who can move the ball better than dribble. She's the most skilled to do that.
The good part of making one of them join her is that the 3 midfielders in yellow are not helping their so called DM that keeps marking Joe. If one of them join Joe, it becomes an overload that just needs one-two passes and a shot. Let's see how far. They seem so intentional on Alozie wing. Perhaps the average performance in 1st leg has gingered them to face her. We need that midfield working together to get a goal. Unless ajibade simply leaves that LW and joins joe in centre for a while.

Kanu is worse in this case!

Randy should know that Ajibade need to be touchable in his starting 11 so that she can as well sit-up!
Rinsola will be more effective than Kanu. So sad to see RW wey go make Kanu sit up no dey.

Summary of the first half is Randy Waldrum outplays Desiree Ellis.

We've been the better of both teams, totally making them clueless offensively. The best midfield play I've seen in a while.

I think we've been suspect a few times with decision making. JOE has been the most culprit.

I notice the pitch is also bouncing the ball funny or is it just me?

Hopefully we clean up offensively and put this game to rest.
It's more or less like whenever Joe has the ball, she's almost alone with none of Ayinde or Debbie in sight. Most of her contact has been with the marked Ajibade. Debbie or Ayinde need to get more involved in attack so she can make things work before they dispossess her.

This swart no sabi. Who go fire shot now?
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by daveP(m): 7:25pm On Apr 09, 2024
Kanu seeing the chances but unable to bury them as usual. She should be selfless when approaching their box abeg. I love both our press and block. Only problem is we seem not to be stringing quality passes once we reach their box. Deborah is a machine. Nerdie find her one alias abeg.

One thing that has worried me about Odegaard as engine room is that i fear experienced teams will get the better of him. But I've come to realize that Odegaard is one of the hardest Midfielders to mark. He's not even aggressive or physical enough but it's very hard to put someone on him to kill our game. He moves between lines and pops up in strangest of places that would make a marker worry more about the empty space than about Odegaard. The only manager i fear that can eliminate Odegaard effect is Mourinho. And he's not anywhere here. If that man plans for your best player, just forget about it.

Again, the current structure is the way it is because of government funding. That automatically changes with private sector funds. For instance the club chairmen in the EPL make up their league board. The current NFF baord is largely made up of state chairmen. A lot of these will change as private money comes in. Billionaires won't but their money except their a total overhaul in policy.
Even some of the private ones still do magomago well.
Attitude 1st else, na whirlwind those billions go go. Besides, they shouldn't be begging them to buy. Potential should be detected 1st. Problems too much.

Those terrible chairmen sef. Lol. One day sha.

Not sure what your preference will be. That we maintain status quo?

Even with how bad things are in Nigeria, we have historical precedence to show that things get significantly better when government divest from it. From entertainment to banking to telecommunications, we are where we are today because the government left the field for the private sector. So while not a reality yet is something to be excited about and a step in the right direction.

As we speak, the best run NPFL clubs are privately owned. Remo Stars and Sporting Lagos are blazing the trails. These 2 owners also have clubs in Europe. So we have a foretaste of what is to come.

The problem you highlighted are also due to governmental interference. Once that changes the entire ecosystem will change to reflect new ownership. Referees for instance will be better trainined and of course better paid.
While i agree and love how the private guys are running theirs, I'll say the problem is way beyond just govt interference. We have many archaic thinkers as administrators. Many bereft of even the rules of the game off and on pitch. From organization to Coverage to Basics and most especially, discipline.

We need a serious overhaul. With a database in place as well. Till then...

Good one. Now do 100× of such good things, Soludo.

We also need the Federal Govt to ban Saturday and Sunday lectures in tertiary institutions.

Also bring the hammer down on banks insisting Saturdays as work days. Let People have time for themselves.

This Slaver's Bay Mode is counterproductive.

Maybe just maybe football in Nigeria is about to experience change.

I hope this pulls through
This doesn't sound great an achievement to me. Why? Cos in the long run, if progress is not made, typical businessman will do the necessary. Besides, the patience required to be at the top of Continental football and be consistent.

Even if they're running like a modern football club, let's not forget how terrible off field administration is from refereeing to rules to travel arrangements and most importantly, database.

None exist to even make a nobody visit a url and check up records that make the league marketable. This one na pity-ness.

You're right. We are difficult to score against on the road. The City gate proved that. Let's see how many we take from 21points. 19 or more? 21 will make us unbearable for opponents 😂😂😂😂😂

Kiwior Vs Zinchenko
Which do you think makes us more
1. Effective in attack
2. Effective in defense
3. Probable of winning a match
Despite the obvious answers to this, the more appropriate question should be which will weaken Bayern Munich if he starts. Between the two, Kiwior, obviously.

Which will help attack more is Zinny. We should not forget the pacy prowess of Bayern through the wings. Infact 10-2 history is one of Wingers prowess.

Diff approach for different opponents it is for ke as I've always opined. Not just us preparing for our own strengths but preparing to frustrate the strength of our opponents. Kiwior>>>

Why do i have this feeling that Saka may miss the 1st leg. I think that injury might be on management level. It's b2b games where Nelli experimenting on the RW just to make Jesus play LW cos of Kai.

Inference, Arteta has accepted playing GJ as 9 is unfruitful. I sha know he'll play 9 at Old Trafford 😂😂😂😂

based on the training that i saw Kiwior going through, he might have had some little issue but is very okay now. I've been saying since 3 weeks that he'll start the Bayern game. He was fit to start Brighton game but Arteta must have really calculated his gameplan with Kiwior in it. LB get too much options. I want that for Saka next season. It will shock all of us how a well rested Saka can start giving GA above what we're currently used to. Guy is too tired mehn.

The more reason why a striker will come in summer too. A fearful CF that will further sharpen our opposition box stats with both aerial and finisher presence. 1. Not all teams play the same pattern.
2. All the 'big scorers' as well as Saka have different skillsets and attributes.
Saka is not a wide forward, he is a proper winger. He is quite flexible.
And if you want him to have less defensive work, that means we must dominate from the first till the last minute which is quite impossible.
Just highlighting two common qualities among the top scorers this season. Ollie in particular.

Nothing is impossible sha. We can only desire more considering how we getting much better
