A lot has occurred with the backline this 2024. See what i mean.

We are 1st, but we aren't in top 7 so far this year. Imagine that!!! It means we faced 80% of shots in 1st half of season for us to still be 1st. Lol.

That their strike, no 18 na clown. See 1v1 wey she dey miss. All pace no finishing. That 1st goal by Joe, i imagined Rinsola giving Joe similar pass vs SA.

Deltamani:
Any duo of Ucheibe, Ayinde and Abiodun can start and disrupt the SA midfield flow, Echegini can start ahead of Payne too behind the strikers as she’s the most capable to strike at goal from any distance/angle..

Bring in Babajide in 2nd half to cause troubles with her crosses..

Linda is good but can’t play well in aggressive and high temple games, that’s where our double pivots comes in.. If she receives a body check from Ucheibe or Abiodun body go tell her but again she makes up for it with her Skills and excellent passes just like Okobi.
Rinsola is so hot now and i expect she starts one of the two legs. I prefer the Away for her. I dunno if Onyi will start away sha. Randy like Payne. Let's see anyway.

Regardless of the outcome, NOTHING will piss me off that these ladies not shooting at least 7 shots at SA goal if na Swart dey post.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by daveP(m): 3:38pm On Mar 30, 2024
Put Abiodun on Linda and leave Ohale with Jermaine/Thembi. Let Ayinde dictate from deep in possession but Deborah must be ready to power shots at Swart. Joe and Ajibade and Rinsola should be ready to stretch that defence so Okoronkwo can do what she loves.

If possible, Ucheibe comes in 2nd half and rough tackles them hard while watching out for rebounds. Major play should be one that reduces the need to run too much. Leave the running for Abuja atmosphere.

I too respect Linda. What she did in that wafcon game shows she's the engineer. Hamper her and watch as half their firepower folds up. It will now be left to us to be sensitive and not waste chances.

Onumonu right now have lost her spot and she’s currently 3rd on the log going by the No.9 position.

Asisat Oshoala
Esther Okoronkwo
Ifeoma Onumonu..

Payne haven’t been explosive for us on the Flank, Randy should keep her in AM let her battle with Echegini for who to start, No need trying to create space for her on the flank when she’s already doing well in Midfield and average at best playing on the Wing for the SuperFalcons… T Payne and Onyi Echegini battling for one spot in Midfield is certainly going to be a tough one as anyone of them can do the magic. It’s left for Randy to start whosoever that delivers!
They should just bin experimenting Toni abeg. Allow her enjoy her centre game. Rather they should give Alozie that wing instead and slot Nicole or Okeke behind her. At least till we find Ordega successor.

Which 30k spectators?? Na Merlin Magic you wan use!!

Ucheibe, Abiodun, Echegini, Okoronkwo, Babajide didn’t play a part the last time we played the SA Ladies.. I think our midfield is a lot better now considering the likes of Sloppy Rita Chikwelu leading the midfield then and the poor combination of Randy in midfield.

Nnadozie

Plumptre
Ebi
Ohale
Alozie

Chikwelu
Ayinde
Ajibade

Payne
Onumonu
Oshoala
Now that one looks at the lineup, based on what we have now, that was a weak lineup. Midfield especially. Our RW gave them problems. But Toni payne and Ajibade swap for make sense.

I dunno o. But I don't see Onumonu playing anytime soon.

There are better ways to bring down a man and not that nonsense i just read. Why can't that one write about how thin his cv is to start with? These backstagers go hamper this team soon. See since Afcon 2020, the way they've been going for courses and all, you'll think they wantu compete with Sarina for a job. The men are sitting and expecting to be picked cos of Enyimba, Tanzania and u17 and Kano Pillars. If na by NPFL levels sef, there are more seasoned managers doing tactical exploits in that league right now and I'll take them over these comfy legends,if that's the metric to get the job.

It pisses me off. You'll look at Nsien and Egbo cv and compare and you'll be wondering why these ones feel so entitled. That's why i said many of them are best as Assistants. At least the nostalgia on them will be helpful with these players that were kids or not yet born when they were all balling those years. For now, na dem sabi.

Grasp it.

We were doing National team football with Rorh and Peseiro and we did not grow.

Which one is not a superior system. All coaches have studied it and made adaptations to it because of it's superiority. Manchester City just one the treble and won the EPL title multiple times.

Give the team time to develop. There is no quick fix.
🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️

You're back to the Man City example again. Can you help it really? We did well under Rohr until we couldn't. Same way there are many managers that used superior system until they were hacked to shreds. Madrid had a system till Chelsea hacked it.

The plea is stop using club examples for this National team football abeg. They are miles apart to start with and secondly, both Do not have the same luxury of time. Especially with NFF and such a overall setup. Hence, be realistic.

Which one is ITK? The point is simple. Keep building the team and with time result will come in our favour. Give coaches time to get the team playing well. Short cut syndrome has kept us in the same position for decades.

It takes time to get things clicking.

I wonder why such a simple point has turned to it.
You need to actually be open to seeing other POV and understanding the points being made. This is basic now!! National team football we talking about here. Is that hard to grasp? That is the lens through which most of us opine here. Abi you think we don't want something like Pep ball too. But where's the time? Besides, we realize it's not the superior system like before. Chai

The Mali team has been training and improving. We have been parking bus since Rohr and not developing our midfield. It will prove difficult to dominate a team like Mali in just two games and few sessions.
TGJ, the fact is you won't accept that this was a mess by Finidi. A tactical one. He doesn't need to be given time on this kinda scenario. This is a show what you got so we consider you. Trust me, if any tikitaka manager is under that kind of scenario, will you be begging for time for them?? They need how many matches to be considered at National team football level when over a dozen more managers can do it way better than both manager and the system of play?? Be realistic abeg.

Besides the answer you gave has over a dozen Afcon evidence to prove that this is merely flimsy excuse given by you. I don't need to mention them. This football thing is not Guava and Mango abeg. 2games and he needs more time? See his sub management?

The 2games was to prove that he should be prioritized for the job. The other managers didn't have that chance. A sensible coach would be very very careful to do exactly what is right. You saw the way that midfield was playing and didn't bother doing anything different. Tella come warm bench. Moses injured and no instant tactical tweak to sustain attack mode. Malians didn't even need tweak anything until 75th min and it led to goal. We are AFCON finalists. They aren't. What are we talking about sef.
