We understand you love Gyokeres, but the bitter truth is he didn't have an excellent season like you want to paint things now.

Most of us don't have any love for Havertz to make us defend him for anything, but while he was injured we kind of wished he was available to give Gyokeres some real competition cos at that point Gyokeres wasn't living up to everyone's expectations. Gyokeres and his teammates have learnt to play to each other's strength and that's what we should celebrate not try to pull down Havertz who has played his own little part in the club's fairy tale since he came back from injury.

It's okay to celebrate Gyokeres improved performance towards the end of the season that has seen us in the Champions league final and 3 wins away from EPL trophy, but don't make it seem like Gyokeres has been that shining light for Arsenal all season cos he's not.

Referring us to Youtube for his Sweden and Sporting highlights won't erase some of the not-so-good performance he had at the first half of the season at Arsenal.

If our highest Goalscorer didn't have a good season, to me that's an inference that solidifies the stance of those that preferred the team played to his strength since he arrived. For that, i raise my hands in surrender like Sabinus.

And yeah, i cant deny the fact that he had terrible games this season. playing to his strength is one thing, holding his own against epl defenders is another. We can argue that the team wasn't playing to his strength but we can't deny that his hold up and link up play which has nothing to do with playing to his strength has Improved. The Gyokeres of past months, would get to the ball and then lose it to defenders, or his touch would be too much, his heading of the ball used to be very bad, but now all of that has changed from what we see in recent outings. I just want him to continue being involved in general play and really create chances for others even when he doesn't score. He picked up at the right time, and with his clinicality level above Havertz, I wouldn't mind seeing kai on the bench all through the rest of the games.

Tbh Gyokeres really struggled earlier in the season but that can be attributed to him not being part of the preseason and aslo jesus and kai's injury that forced him to play every match from the beginning without much understanding of our game play. It's because Gyokeres was underwhelming at the earlier part of the season. His touches were heavy, his positioning was questionable and some of his misses leaves not much to be desired.

Yesterday's match was arguably his best game in an Arsenal jersey. The Fulham match too he had a great performance , but in the earlier part of the season he struggled to gel with the team.

As for the subs, it looked early and off. But i noticed the style changed to more long balls and also Simeone removed 3 of his attacking guys. I dunno of he sensed simeone might do something sha but the Noni came on to do absolutely nothing significant. We also changed the defending and started from the front. They didn't have a dueler up front for their long balls. Gabu and Saliba winning every duel.

When people were piling on him earlier on, I preached patience.

Can you imagine what a full preseason will do for him?

We needed lethal and physical upfront as the final jigsaw piece. Someone that defenders are scared or will be worried about when it came to 1v1 duels.


Nobody with experience in ucl will see Kai or Jesus and be scared. It's just never part of their highest contribution to team success. They could never be beasts when that was needed up front.

This guy gave their entire backline big big problems enough to ginger both his manager and teammates. Unlucky the Hincapie cross ended up inches off the mark.
