Remove Akor Adams for Dele Bashiru
This Coach won't do anything until Morocco scores
Same mistake he made with Mali at the last Afcon

This players are tired
Akor is the disconnect so far. He kills these sweet number advantage counters with terrible passes so far. I dunno if coach go wan comot am sha.

Norice how he was smiling on the touchline during the extra 3 mins? Seems this is his game plan. We've barely attacked or ran distances tonight compared to Morocco.

On Morrocco's case, include their home advantage. The massive support they get from their fans intriguing. Though we can turn it to pressure for them
That too.

Im pissed at how CAF allowed this ticket hoarding go for senegal and Nigerian fans, and at large, the entire tournament.

In 2013

We actually feared CIV cos of what they did to us in 2006. We were good too but they had Drogba, Tiote, Toure, Buka Bari and Grrvinho.

2026

We actually feared Algeria cos of the 2019 PTSD freekick by Mahrez

2026

We are doing same with Morocco. Not cos of any previous outcome that gave us PTSD but because of their WC semifinals pedigree.

They're the most organized among these 3 opponents so far. I can't forget El Hadji though.

Let's avoid

Fouls 30yrds near our goal
Time wasting from Nwabali
Them having the ball early and making us run.
Hakimi crosses

We good to go.

Out marking Diaz will make them tensed and seek new options. If they outmark Akor and Iwobi, Lookman and Osimhen dey. If they focus on Osimhen, pk fit comot. If Iwobi, Onyedika is there. Our backline has not faced an overwhelming attack like Morroco's so far. Will be a true test for them. They may get the Algerian treatment though. Algeria did all balls to Mahrez and it failed including their defensive setup. I hope the defense steps up. Good luck to the Super Eagles.

Amuneke remains my top pick but I won't run down Finidi. With time we would have had a brilliant team with him. I have no shred of doubt.

Sometimes good things require patience.
There's nothing that will wash him from the terrible job he did. Doing that in wcq again? No pr or whitewashing will be convincing cos we've NEVER extended such privileges to previous saboteurs. We roasted Oliseh for s terrible job but na Finidi we go kon pat rub? No be SE he go use do redemption. Let him do redemption elsewhere and convince us he is indeed different. undecided

Will Diaz score before Osimhen in this encounter?

If we mark out that guy(put onyeka/bassey on him) he will tiring out.

If Bruno+Lookman however attack his flank well, that guy might be forced to defend for most of the game. That morrocan defense has nothing to stop Osimhen right now. I want Iwobi to shoot if he sees the chance. I expect a goal from him.

Ejuke might come in useful in the 2nd half.

TheGoodJoe:
Actually, the leak did not come from Finidi's staff but from the NFF. It was after a meeting with the NFF, that an NFF staff made a false impression about Finidi to Osimhen. So I think that is a clear misconception.

I still believe with time, we would have had a wonderful team under Finidi. His calmness was so impressive.
Calmness ke? Lars Lagerback is the calmest coach the super eagles ever had. We know how it ended. No be by calm pls o. Lol

Aside that one, his on pitch ideas and decisions were terrible ones.

With time we'll need better coaches not giving mediocrity 2nd chances, esp when we can't see any significant upgrade from that person as well.

I'll rather give Amuneke if it came down to the two

TheSuperNerd:
On this, you said all the ex-players and local coaches but I disagree. It is not exactly all.

Late Stephen Keshi was assistant manager to Jo Bonfrere at Afcon 2000 and he went on to Coach Mali, Togo (qualified them to the 2006 WC), before eventually coaching the Super Eagles.

Note that same Keshi also coached the U20 Flying Eagles in 2001 after Afcon 2000 and didnt exactly get it right. Infact that was the worst U20 set we ever paraded at an U20 Afcon but it was a genuine moulding experience for Keshi who also assisted Late Coach Amodu Shuaibu at some point.

His coaching journey will help forge his philosophy as a manager and eventually morph him into the Winning Manager he became as Super Eagles Coach. A legend forever he is and one of our greatest coaches of all time.

Another is Samson Siasia. He assisted Austin Eguavoen at some point before he would take up the reins himself later. Siasia's best coaching exploits as you already know are with Nigeria's U20 and U23 Teams.
Gold at 2005 U20 Afcon.
Silver at 2005 U20 WC.
Silver at 2008 Olympics.
Gold at 2015 U23 Afcon.
Bronze at 2016 Olympics.

Emmanuel Amuneke is another. Just like Siasia, it is not for assisting a foreign manager but at least he worked his way up and was part of the assistant crew of Nigeria's U17 side in 2013. They won the U17 World Cup after bagging Silver at the U17 Afcon.
In 2015, he was made U17 Head Coach and finished 4th at the U17 Afcon before going to conquer the world winning the U17 World Cup in Chile.

Left later on for Tanzania and qualified them for the 2019 Afcon. And the rest is history.

So I think the major exception is Stephen Keshi. He showed he learnt even though his relationship with Jo Bonfrere became strained later on.

But in a conclusion, I see your point especially when I think of Finidi under JPes. Salisu Yusuf under Rohr. Joseph Yobo under Rohr. And so forth. Now we have seen Fidelis Ilechukwu under Chelle and especially now, Daniel Ogunmodede under Eric Chelle. See ehn, na God go help us on our local heads but we do have a few good ones. Very few.
Nerdie you fes disagree but ended and said very few las las. Meaning you sha agree las las. Like 70% just wasted time and resources. Im good with all you said shaa.

I hope Dan and Fidelis go on to even better tactical relevance with their respective clubs after this tournament. High hopes on them. We need a dozen of them in the NPFL to change the league

They are all arrogant people who feel because they played the game at the highest level they can’t submit themselves to proper learning I mean an amokachi was assistant to even keshi how come he’s not even good enough to be producing the kind of results Chelle is producing. What they do mostly is to criticise the current generation of players to make it look as if no one else can be better. Honestly I am ashamed on their behalf.
They need to step up really. I wish they are progressing on that field. Even if its to influence the u17s and u20, u23 by taking the job.

Makes me think if there's something genetically wrong with them

But you have to remember that amuneke is a bit different, a bit better . Just a bit though

They took our football back and i don't think it's the NFF's fault in this case. Those guys just don't learn and improve. They are more interested in making money from sponsorhip deals with beverage or sports bet brands
I won't absolve any of them but yeah he is different cos he even got a top job prior to being assistant.

That genetic angle is worth considering though hilarious. I'll blame nff cos they give them this slot even when the said manager doesn't want them.

Ndidi
Onyeka
Bassey

Observation

Cc: Kog45, Mujtahida, Thesupernerd, Thegoodjoe

I discovered that alllllllll the ex players that ended up as assistant managers to a foreign coach(let me even add the local coaches too) usually end up showing they learnt nothing from their superiors regarding the game.

I can mention almost half a dozen and none of them even went on to get a better coaching experience, job with even the cadet teams. They just fade off into oblivion, go into punditry, or like finidi, make balderdash statements about formation not being important despite seeing all under Jpes. Even in the punditry, they still act like they archaic compared to their mates of their eras. I dunno

So why waste the spot? Or is the spot on the coaching crew simply ceremonial, like for nostalgic effect on the players in camp or what?

Where is Yobo today?

What do you guys think?

Algeria didn't come to play football one bit. They were here for tricks. The PTSD if 2019 frrekick goal made many Nigerians overrate Algeria. But that was 6years ago and since then weve added muscle. They changed their formation 6times but could not breathe for the pressure sustained by Nigeria. That was unique. They could not catch a break or get some minutes to dominate any zone despite the poor distribution by Nwabali at some point in the game.

This ref was down on business and he knew they'll bring child play and he didn't disappoint. North African teams should end such history an play actual football. Egypt have left that nonsense behind sef.

Shameful it took Nigeria to remind us all that there's no active goalline tech in Afcon. Big shame.

Akor and Calvin recreating JJ dance at afcon was sweet. I however would love if they can recreate their own that a future set of SE players will recreate too one day.

The yellow cards we have are mostly from non tackles and most time wasting. Now Ndidi will miss Morocco match. I think that triggered the removal of Onyeka as well cos he will now play the Ndidi role vs Morocco. He's up to the task. He did it in the last AFCON. Osayi got even better.

Fantastic display by this resolute team.

Both gidigbo under Jpes and Sleek Football under Chelle, we have the personnel for it. Chelle making that RW absent was a bold move that paid off. I wished Chuks came on or Ejuke in the 2nd half. Both will be key subs vs Morocco IMO.

Why you so so worried🎶🎵

Charles should be ashamed of what comes out of his mouth most of the time. He's one of the people that lives Nigeria the way it is and expect that since people suffered and succeeded then, the current ones should also suffer to succeed. Must it come close home before he changes such a mindset?

This is why i want Iwobi and Akor to gather chemistry in this particular game. The North Africans are good at this marking out star/key players with lots of fouls that refs overlook. Can't forget 2006 and 2008 Afcon.

For this game, Chukwueze or Ejuke starting will be very helpful.

They fit even leave Osimhen and Lookman and focus on Iwobi as he is the main reason our threat is this high

Can’t lie Morocco is probably our biggest threat for this trophy
I hold the pov that they're doing caf a favor by hosting a large chunk, if not all, of caf competitions. The least ROI will be to make them win one trophy.

Super falcons denied the female team that privilege. If we meet in the semis, it might end in a robbery format unless we come with a We NO GO Gree subtle approach 😆😆😆
