I don't think Jpes is the problem in this regard. There are some preferred players that the NFF wants called up at all times. We saw this for the most part with Rorh.
True. When i kept emphasizing that Rohr wasn't in control of invites, most ignored. What solidified that was that list dropped on twitter then deleted and a modified one was released minutes later. By now, we should be seeing u20 boys involved in squad. But....

Someone who speaks my language.

Osimhen is now 20 goals away from equalling Yekini's Goals Record for the Super Eagles.

Against Sao Tome, Osimhen has the sweet chance to cut the gap to 16 coz I feel he can score 4 again or even more. Lol
i will even prefer he doesn't start that game. E get why. Let's see what the others can do in his absence to start with. Vos if hebis not around and they can't survive, then o pari!!

Yep. This is why I want the FG to make massive investments in our domestic league (revamp stadia, get TV deals, encourage private sector investment, fix imagery, modernize,etc.,).

Doing so will not only improve our football but it can create many jobs.
Their IQ is lower than the pitch quality, unfortunately.

They have a world class rugby union domestic competition which helps to maintain their stadia.
In other words, their heavy investments in sports is having ripple effect to enforce maintenance? I like that.

I can't agree less with you. Our problem has always been maintenance, we just don't have it in us although akwa ibom is trying but other states are just there
We always only have 1 or 2 at most that are "good enough" to host. And that's just pitch. The rest are nothing to write home about.

Osimhen was provider for almost everyone making way into the box yesterday. Totally involved in build up. A sane coach eith better eye will try to find his Bruno Fernandes/Gundogan from the middle to be at the right place for goal. But......

You are spot on, I was amaze watching the highlight. The pitch was classic cope with supersport spectacular cameras everything was just something else i though i was even watching European matches.
As far as SA is concerned,

Bad pitch
Poor Match coverage

Can never ever be their problem going forward for the next decade to come.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by daveP(m): 9:59am On Jun 19, 2023
One has to highly applaud SA for maintaining their stadium 13years after the World Cup. Their Template for that should be emulated without any omission. We dey struggle to keep Abuja standard, with some of us here even hyping mediocrity with "it is manageable"

We need friendly games to try out Onyedika, Alhassan, Daga, Nnadi, Eletu and Nwachukwu. But we won't do it. Trust me.

What we will do is arrange friendlies, call up exactly the same squad bar maybe 1 or 2 players and play a very familiar 11 on match day, with Musa on the bench (stealing a valuable spot for a young player), for his experience wink
These u20 guys, i hope a few go to Afcon sha. Esp the defenders cos this defence today no fit hold current powerhouses from the North. They'll crumble.

I don't even know what to believe on this thread anymore because NEPA no gree me watch this match. Some folks here think the keeper was good because he saved 2 goal bound opportunities from the Sierra Leoneans while others think he was poor. Between Iwobi and Aribo, please who performed better?

This is the part where @The Supernerd should come in with his analysis of individual performance.
Remove Aribo from the midfield setup, The team won't really suffer. Remove Iwobi from today's match and everything crumbles.

There, you have your answer. Iwobi did 3jobs today.

forgiveness:
The two goals were individual brilliance and resilience of just one player. Nothing more.

It doesn't negate the fact that we dominated the game and had several scoring chances.

I was impressed though there is room for improvement.

The tactics today was spot on whether the striker was creator or not. Abi na striker worked the ball from behind singlehandedly?

He got passes that freed him to give passes that were enough for us to had scored more goals due to the counterattack tactics adopted today. Habamana!
You call that one dominating? 🌚😥😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

That's not dominating. We didn't dominate, esp this 2nd half. If Adeleye did not make 2 key saves in 2nd half, you won't be saying this atall.

Conclusion

Like JPes , Like Randy Waldrum

Clueless in game reaction.

Sincerely, only Iwobi enjoyed this pitch. Dunno why the rest didn't just grab his instant passing and moving style. They want to be holding onto ball on this trampoline pitch. He was the only sleek player today. The rest are just annoying. He's the big man of this team alongside Osimhen. If anything happens to him, this team is finished.

And, lest i forget

Ndidi is finished!!!

Reminds me of Echiejile and Ambrose doing exactly same forward burst at dying moment to help win a match years ago. He saved us an embarrassing post match blow over.

We actually encouraged them 200times over. I blame JPes for not doing something to kill that. Iwobi had to drop deep to assist Onyeka again. Na we fes underrate ourselves. We no dey show class from start to finish in such matches, starting from Bissau lose. Adeleye saved this team in dying moment even if nothing much overall. If na Uzoho, those two setpieces go enter

As it stands, looks like the gk on the Afcon potential list will be different this time.
Looks like he wore his pouncing Cheetah sleeves for the 2nd half. Two key saves from setpieces and he shouted at them to organize. A much better, influential 2nd half for the debutant.

Half time Stats: SLE vs NGA (Afcon Qualifiers)

✅️ In Yekini's First 25 NT Caps, he had only 8 goals.

The Great and Legendary Rashidi Yekini went on to bag a further 29 goals in next 37 NT Caps to finish with 37 Goals in 62 Senior NT caps.

Osimhen is currently on 17 Goals in 25 NT Caps. He is on course chasing down the all time NT record of a Great Striking god.

✅️Osimhen has created the most chances in the game (3) and won the most duels in the game (6).

✅️Kenneth Omeruo has won 100% of his duels (4/4). 3 ground duels won. 1 aerial duel won. He also bagged an assist for the first goal.

✅️Wilfred Ndidi has recorded the most tackles in the game (3) as at HT.

✅️Joe Aribo has completed all 5 of his passes (100% passing accuracy).
one thing i would have loved to see of this chase is another player also chasing Osimhen, typical of European national teams. But the person that should be at least be the other scorer looks unserious when on the gwg duty.

That would have made it sweeter.

Nice record set. Anybody in this team dey target Yakubu record at least? None!!

Should be 4-1 by now. Pitch excuse no suppose dey but looks like it's a problem. Aribo loosing the ball 6times this 1st half. Ndidi about 4. Match rusty!! See as nobody complain about Simon as he's a team player? I hope he keeps that up for 2nd half. Guy needs to reduce his ball hugging and rather be in threatening positions after he releases the ball.

I hate how that guy ran all the way from centreline till he enter our box. Some ref will blow that thing as pk again us. We're lucky.

A credible argument could be made that she DID lose the ball.
Watch min 7:33 (slowmo) which shows Cameroon defender Awona toe-poking the ball away from Okobi, while Okobi was trying to turn away.
Watch Awona's left leg swing and toe-poke, as well as the path of the ball.
you're right. The ball was poked away from her feet. Onumonu had a bigger impact for that goal than Okobi, tbh. Swap any other player into that same onumonu spot at that time and they'll take a different, slow response than this one.

Yeah. Officially apologizing for misconduct isn't a bad thing in itself but as I earlier said. There's little reason for any player to have personal problems with an official if the official did not degrade his position. Like, he isn't the coach so what was he doing with the player that resulted in such situation.

Anyways I'm quite cynical with some revelations here though.
It's always hard to cast doubts on rumors like that cos, personally, imo, i know those are tips of the iceberg. If the can opens, a colony of worms and wasps will fill everywhere that even a corrupt top judge may want to skip proceeding and hand jail terms direct.

Bottom line is that house is a cesspit. We are just used to this air of delusion to pretend there is some sort of ordeliness with our sports as a whole. People can't talk cos of fear of being exposed for involvement that kickstarted their own careers. So the ripple effect goes round and around and around.

Anyone that pushes factory reset will be the biggest icon in Nigeria sports.

Cos even CaF right now is even worse than nff🤣🤣🤣🤣
