Looks like there's a perception that Alozie wing is our weak link from the Aussies. Who else noticed?

Thats not even a card offense
Same tackle Khadija shaw did for that overrated and overprotected Wendie Renard and got red carded. It was a foolish booking. Two slips and the refs on both occasions are foolish and biased. I hate how this is glaring in the games. Managers aren't even helping. We need a Mou or Wenger reaction abeg.

See how they reviewed that handball without a word? Commentators are sentimental too. Lol. Smh.

Your answer to the bolded ..Club side.

The ones invited to the national team, were they not part of the U20 teams? Must we fill the team with all the U20 girls?

Different countries with different structures. Oya name the U17s in this world cup and let's check their profile. For the last time, that other teams are doing so doesn't mean we should do the same. Those who included the U17s in their team did so due to the exceptionality of the player or due to the fact that there is no better option.
I'll let this mata rest. But i know the clubside stuff. I'm just countering that age long mentality which i believe you know exist. Many will be at clubs but will still not get it.

We better beat this Aussies. Two more key injuries. We have virtual no excuse now.

If Ajibade wasn't good she won't be playing for Athletico Madrid.

Ajibade is better...

Its colonial mentality to speak negatively about your fellow hard working countrymen and women.
Ajibade and Ordega have been abysmal lately o. Especially if you judge by their recent games for Falcons. The ish is they are in big teams, but they can't show same in GWG. Always. Like always!!

Nigerians tend to be sentimental when it comes to youth players.. I recall seeing comments about the last batch of u-17 boys being better than the super eagles because they played some food football... Lol

Ajakiaye and Flourish are talented players that still need time to develop. Especially with respect to their decision making on the ball .. if there's any player in the cadet team I would pick aside the trio of Abiodun, Imuran and Demehin, it would be Esther Onyenezide because of her creativity...
It's not sentiment. Its the fact that we have taken this mentality for decades with virtually nothing to show and prove that it is the best to adopt as a pattern over the decades. We see other footballing nations giving chance to players in developing phase and they got better. The question is "can't someone be developing while getting exposure at same time?" Or is there any rule or stats that prove it is highly detrimental to our players? Now this same Esther you picked, we all agree she is still developing, but we know that she can do stuff if she gets a spot. The two can go hand in hand.

Or are the u17 players fielded by other nations as talented as the Nigerian ones?

We just need to bin that mentality. It is working for many. Why is it suddenly so different when e reach our side?

How else does one garner experience and team spirit if not by inclusion?

If there are no surprising moves, there will be no revelations. Sentiment or not.

All these are for tomorrow sha. We meuve.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by daveP(m):

There is something you left out. We shouldn't do this because other teams are doing same. Quality should come first. Deborah Abiodun is an example. The coach felt she can be a stopgap till Ayinde comes back and she was picked. We're lacking numbers at the back which made it easy to pick Tosin and Rofiat who are already pros. You think if we have an exceptional forward among the U17 and U20 sets, we wouldn't pick her? Flourish is good but still raw. Physically, she is not there yet. As for Ajakaiye, she is good but not there yet at all. All she has is raw pace. Her decision making and finishing is poor currently. There are also Esther, Bello, and Idoko.

With time, these girls will develop and they will get their chances.
All fine. But the reality is even if we see players talented than the ones I've been hammering, that mentality is still there. We know it is a serious Nigerian thing. We all know. Shebi this man even fought to include her name, else she won't be here. But we move. We have to drop that mentality across all our teams. It's not helping. The excuse given to back it up as well.

Sidenote: so our world cup Goals vs conceded is triple inferior? If 63 is GA and -43 is GD......that means na only 20goals we don score in 8Appearances(32years)!!!

Yeh!!! My chest!!!!!

Big inference then.

I really need to ask a question, Sabastine this, Ajakaye that… For a start are they better than the ones picked for the World Cup or Are this two young Ladies going to bench Uchenna Kanu, Monday Gift or even Esther Okoronkwo or you guys are talking of just mere inclusion into the team??
Simple! Inclusion. That's all. It will be highly delusional of me to want them to be outright starters at this World cup even if that is not such a big deal seeing the number of starters from age grade players so far. I'm even taking this stance more cos of that time excuse we've been using since 18th century. Sometimes, these newbies have better confidence than some starters.(Abiodun has proven that)

But inclusion. They were supposed to be here. But as i said, selection headache btw two elephants can't make them considered one bit.

Ordega can never do this. If she must, then they have to relief her of defensive duties, which I don't see. This thing is training. Nobody for nff fit even tell coach say make we play this way small for testing. Na to dey foam for mouth like Ademola upandan.

Flourish selfish? Someone that literally looks for a 1-2 with teammates, or is it the one that always crosses the ball once she's beaten her player/marker instead of cutting inside looking to shoot?

Her videos during the CAF W Champions league and Women's Champions League WAFU Zone B Qualifiers are allover Facebook, where she was creating loads for her teammates and scoring as well..( in the qualifiers)

Perhaps there's another Flourish you're referring to?
Exactly my point. If one watched her at Cafwcl, you'll want her in this current setup. She is a teamplayer with an eye to look for space and a teammate.

Bro, spent last night analyzing Australia’s matches this year and I can confidently say that cross and nod will not work against them (might only work for them against us although they even aren’t so good at scoring it but don’t count them out). If we want to beat the Aussies or get a result, we’ll have to do it the hard way, by actually playing direct football with intelligent & accurate passes and defending well, we won’t even need dedicated wingers and counter attacks else they’ll tame us. And the full backs, CBs and DMs will be extremely important on Thursday cos most of Australia’s attack will come as those square plays and through ball into the box. I will go with a front 3 of Kanu, Oshoala and Ajibade. But Ajibade will have to spend more time in midfield alongside Payne to help transition into attack. That’s just my take, I’m open to criticism, corrections and appraisals till the reality of Thursday’s match comes
The absence of Sam Kerr has impact on their all rounda approach. She makes things work a great great deal for them. It will work because that is a weakness noticed vs Ireland, esp that gk wey no sabi. It's the midfield battle one can be worried about, but Ayinde is returning.

Imuran and Alozie as wingback so we can provide crosses throughout. Oparanozie starts cos cross and nod only effective that way. But one thing is sha certain. Ajibade abd Ayinde are starting next game. So this won't work.

I can’t Compare the Flourish Sabastine and Ajakaye of now with the Ordega of then, cause Ordega came in with full force…

We can do this but our coach is just clueless. We boast of pacy FBs in Imuran, Alozie and Nicole. Imuran is even a good crosser of the ball. In Ucheibe, we have a player who is comfortable slotting in-between the CB freeing up the FBs. See eh... coaching is a big problem in Nigeria football.
Exactly!! We have the personnel already. Our own is always diff and its enraging.

If we play like this vs Australia and sama them with cross and nod, o pari. Their GK, Arnold, na full blown Otu. I'll pick the Moroccan gk over her anyday. She struggled throughout the cornerkicks Ireland played. We can use that to advantage. The goal Australia got was from pk sef caused by inbox tussling for aerial ball. I hope randy noticed this and tells the ladies to try something similar. High chance is it will end in pk. It's not Everytime person suppose win challenge for box. Floating balls and tussle and down. The same Sebastian was the reason the U20 didn't get to the semi-final because she wanted to dribble every defender instead of passing into the box.

Anytime Ajakaye was at the wings she always crosses or passes the ball into the box.

Sebastian also falls down a lot and in the world cup the referees won't blow their whistle for her.

Ajakaye is more of a team player than Sebastian. Ajakaye will press, close gaps, run to the wings and pass or cross which can also give the SF corner kicks.

While Sebastian will run to the wings and try to drive into the box with step-overs or pace to try and score on her own and she can also win the SF penalties if the referees are fare.

Oshoala was fouled and the referee didn't call it a foul.
At all. I disagree

Sebastine is a more rounded player than Ajakaye. Both will come good with time. Ordega at that level was something else already and in world cup team by 2011. Both aren't near her beast mode that year but are as good and Sebastine is the better player. Although her outing in the Cafwcl is not that impressive.

Super Falcons and Super Eagles need to improve and upgrade their attacking formation..

Super Falcons would have only Oshoala in the box or in the wings and there will be no one in the box waiting for a cross or a pass but if you watch the European teams wheb they are attacking they have at least 3 - 5 players in the box while another 2 - 3 are behind the attacking players in the box and 2 players are back defending.

Why is it difficult for the S.F and S.E to train how to attack this way.

Imagine having Osimhen, Boniface and Moffi e.t.x. waiting in the box or having Oshoala, Onumonu, Oparanozie e.t.c waiting in the box then ucheibe, Payne, Ayinde behind them.
Was just about to talk about this. I agree that it is hibernating for now. I don't want to use Dead. 11 shots and 1 on target is not good for any top team at the World Cup....

See how the Germans played...

We are yet to set up in such a way as to isolate the extra man/woman. Madrid and Man City do this well for the Men's team. Lyon, Wolfsburg and Arsenal do it perfectly well for the women's team. A midfield of Ucheibe and Ayinde would help. But our full backs need to go all wing backs to stretch any opponent. I hope we replicate something like this. All these longballs from Nnadozie is to nobody's advantage. Na demehin wey dey fear pass be the weak link for this setup
