The 2014 SE team are perfect personnel wise to implement this Croatian style of dragging till Extra time/penalties. We will need a pk specialist in the team and a modric-esque midfielder to complete it. I love the Vic pairing in the middle. Nobody really talking about the Brazil middle atall. Livakovic, if his road ends here, has done well. Once again, I'm proud of the fact that Gk's have bigger spotlight in Qatar.

I used to be one of the praise singers of the NBBF due to how well they recruit players to the national team until their trouble with the sport ministry that lead to D'tigress missing the world cup..
Those guys are obviously using the mass availability of foreign born players to mask fheir inability to develop our local league...And one ignoramus is using them as a yardstick in comparison to our football sector...
As it stands, we are very unlikely to qualify for the 2023 basketball world cup..

Chris. At the Naijafootballers TV studio on my last visit there, I had a near heated argument about Bellingham's quality in comparison to his peers like Pedri, Gavi and even Jamal Musiala. I even had to remind them of Florian Wirtz.

My mistake was having that discussion/argument in the first place. You know why? The person I was engaging was a Chelsea fan. A die hard Chelsea fan. Many of them don't like anything Barca. grin The bad blood is real.

I said, Bellingham is a very exciting young midfield talent but Pedri edges him SO MUCH in Game intelligence and Incredible technical ability.

Bellingham is more like an Engine in the middle. He will make those bursting runs forward from the middle and throw himself into duels and tackles and pop up with the occasional goals from deep thanks to his box to box qualities but Pedri is an absolute Maestro in the middle. His Vision is on another level to Bellingham. His game reading ability is classes above Bellingham's.

Pedri can conduct a game on his own. Bellingham cannot. That's the difference but this Chelsea guy no gree and ofcos I expect Liverpool fans to join in soon when Bellingham signs for them perhaps. Lol

To be honest, the English hypes is much and some of the very staunch EPL fanboys who hold interest in Bellingham will keep fueling it.
At least Bellingham go distract all of us from the following

Greenwood
WestLife no 10
Mason Carpenter Mount

We no hear word from these 3 that year. Chai.

I love his style though. He still needs sharpening. If Kane doesn't drop deep in that English team, those midfielders are as good as average. Kane makes sacrifices too much for the 3 Lions. Remove him and watch kasala.

This your submission is quite funny...All the sports you mentioned don't get enough attention or funding like football in this country.. In fact, a large part of the success recorded in them are more from individual effort than collective administration effort... Most of them are individual sports anyway...
In basketball, our national team is filled 90% with foreign born players..In case you don't know, our local basketball league has been in comatose for 4 years now because of internal fighting within the federation.. that's why we haven't qualified for any age grade tournament in a while.

Two factors will combine to make a nation a footballing nation:
1. Strong local league with attendant sporting facilities and the presence of large fan base supporting local teams
2. Good international record and history.

On both scores, we fall below the bar. Our international football record (apart from age grade competitions) is average. I need not talk about our local league.

On the other hand countries like Brazil, Italy, France, Spain, England (at least they have one WC) Germany, Argentina are footballing nations.
If this is the yardstick, hope you know many European teams will be declassified?

FIFA can't mention football nations in Africa without Nigeria in top 2 position. We all know this is a irrefutable fact(all rounda, male and female). This aspect should bever be up for discussion.

The issue is the rot in the system of sports. It needs an overhaul.

This talk is flawed. The footballing nations in the world, or let me even use Africa, all excel highly in olympics and commonwealth, AAG tournaments, T&F. Does that mean they are not?

Egypt
Nigeria
South Africa

Nigeria is a footballing nation

On the biggest stage, it's up to talented players to prove if they are average at best, or elites that the media have ignored over the years.

I anticipate 2026 if 3 factors are put in place, one of which is the furore over match bonuses, and bribery that FBs face.

9teams should see us do well. Now, we look forward to a rebuilt defence and a Sofyan as well.

They have not hacked anything. It is just a basic park bus win. It is normal and has been done for long. Roberto Di Matteo used a park bus system to beat Guardiola's barcelona. Did that mean they have hacked the system.

If they play ten times, Spain will win more. If Spain scored an early goal, Morocco won't have it easy to go past them.

Finito.
All i see are lots of if if if and if.

The reality before us is better than if. Nice one there for undermining big wins that were well fought for and rightly won without a scent of favourtism or ojoro. Nice one o.

Opponent win spain-basic park bus system.

The problem isn't the style of play. Possession football is one of the beautiful brands of football out there. I personally see it as the most beautiful. It totally epitomizes what team work should stand for and Football is a team sport after all.

The problem lies in not having the right kind of players to suit the system. There's no Xavi and Iniesta to organize things and lob those dangerous balls into the box. There's no De Bruyne to make those crosses from the half space to the far post. There's no Fabregas to roam around the 'D' (arc) of the opponent's box. There's no Messi-Jordi Alba relationship and understanding.

Today, Enrique started Llorente as a RB when there's an Azpilicueta who despite his old age, still has it in him to deliver dangerous crosses into the box. Rodri has been playing as a Centre Back in order to accommodate Busquets as a DM. Morata has been on fire in this world cup but was benched for Asensio. Gavi and Pedri are great but they're no Xavi and Iniesta.

If you want to play possession football, you need the right players.
There's a reason Guardiola has spent more than a billion acquiring players.
Lol.

I want to say alot but I'll not. Let me just say they had all the time in the world to acquire players. Same time as the teams that beat them in this tournament. To me, this is a silly excuse for an outdated and hacked system in modern football. If Tiki will continue to look for players, dem go tey. Guess what?? grin

Other styles and countries will be upgrading more effective styles that gives ease and transition and allow fans get entertainment.

Possession football has been there since the 50s, let alone it fading soon.

We have the likes of Guardiola, Enrique, Amunike, holding seminars training coaches in the art.

We have seen the likes of Inzaghi, Sarri, Erik Ten Hag, Vincent Kompany, Tuchel, Emery, Lopetegui and a host of others adapt to it. Hard to find a top side that does not conform to the Possession game.

Manchester City has been dominating with it. So how do you expect it to fade?
I wont lie, we can mention players from infinity and beyond that have flourished under the style, but in these times, what Spain is playing is aimless. I'd rather contribute to outsmarting that defence. Okay in the midfield that is the heart of the so called style, Sofyan bested 3 of them again.

What Spain is playing, is it what Pep is playing at City? Like same same??

Haba!!!

Very Glad the haram football is out. They should goan restructure or modify it as City has.
