On a norm, on a norms, the expectations was that majority of them would be the one running our football by now. Alas, all going to waste, begging for scraps while hexagonal pegs struggle to fit into triangular holes.

Otamendi will not have been alone with Kolo.
Mbappe wouldn't have had so much space for second. And Dembele wouldn't need to defend if Licha was one. Meaning double threat. |

Son and Kane shouldn’t be playing for spurs How Richarlison go join them there sef dey make me laugh our noisy neighbors the more. The duo deserve something on their shelves elsewhere. Spurs can't do that for them. A pity. Son will walk into any Top 6 XI in EPL and do wonders. |

Na shouts of Goal in the neighborhood make me realize that Mbappe don score 2. I shapali go on again. Tchou and Coman did what Rashford and Saka did in Euros. I hope backlash from french fans don't replicate that kind. Istanbul comeback is sweet. Also noticed the way ladies were invested in today's final. |

TheSuperNerd: Nerdie's New Ranking Order of the Football GOATs Club.
In my deeply informed Opinion, this is indeed The True Order of the GOATs:
1. Pele: 3 WCs, 7 Ballon Dors, 12 Goals +10 Assists in 14 WC games, 2 Copa Libertadores. - Still the GOAT of GOATs
2. Lionel Messi: 1 WC, 7 Ballon Dors, 13 Goals + 8 Assists in 26 WC games, 4 UCLs.
3. Diego Maradona: 1 WC, 2 Ballon Dors, 8 Goals + 8 Assists in 21 WC games, 1 Uefa Cup.
4. CR7: 5 Ballon Dors, 8 Goals +2 assists in 22 WC games, 5 UCLs.
Bonus: GOAT Candidates in the coming years - Leading the way is undoubtedly Kylian Mbappe. He'll be back for more in 2026. For now, it's back to club football in search of his first UCL. Chai. See wetin WC trophy do to ororo. He for dey number 2 sef.

chrisooblog: Trying to remember when last a goalkeeper came clutch for his national team at the world cup the way Martinez did for Argentina. Funny enough I think it was another Argentinian keeper Goycochea who performed heroics for them to reach the finals of the 1990 world cup. Nigeria has learned the lesson the hard way the importance of a good goalkeeper. If Martinez was a Nigerian, with his move from Arsenal to Villa, we for don dey cry say demotion. Martinez grew more balls and helped this team win. But definitely, a daunting, fearless goalie last played for us in the yellow Kits-Vinny. Ezenwa was fearless too. But... |

TheLoneCitizen: This match explains why experienced coaches prefer to defend leads than secure it by attacking.
Argentina have thrown away 2-0 leads against Netherlands and France.
From Scolani's part, should have brought on Lisandro rather than Acuna. Why change something that has worked all tournament? I think Acuna played really well. I doubt Lisandro could replicate that energy i saw in Acuna for such a grand stage like tonight's. |

TheSuperNerd: Up until the 79th min, this was in line to become the most boring WC Final in recent memory.
But Muani, Mbappe and Thuram have turned this game on its head!!!
Deschamps' Conservative approach was on show for the most parts but his ability to select players again coming to the fore!!! His changes have given France their only shots on target today and both have yielded Goals!!
Who would have thought??!!!
We are not done oooo... I salute the drama of this World Cup. I guess it's never over till it really is. Istanbul vibes. Exact same scoreline |
