So who is responsible for not signing the players? The manager or the owner? This is where you common sense should kick in.
Your mistake is you think one doesn't know what and where to apportion blame and that's why i see your pov as hilarious. Anyways you're gradually coming on to where we once were in school of thought.

When money dey available for attackers, abeg who did he end up buying? Ehn? Man pack defenders and crappy Sterling when money was available for attackers, something Wenger and Emery never did despite the stingy hands available. That's where common sense should kick and dive in

Isokay.

7/9 were FA Cups.

Fun Fact

All of these 9 trophies had outstanding attacking players acquired or groomed for it to happen.

We have no time for theatrics and shalaye. Even those wey no do any Process or Did any call for Trusting are getting trophies. So what's the excuse gonna be for the next potential failure before Restart button is hit?

If we are going to win against Zambia, we would need to play a counter attacking game. If we do that we win and avoid what happened against Botswana and morroco.
If the coach continues playing the typical Nigerian football, then nothing for us. This way the Zambians would be forced to come out and play thereby exposing their terrible goalkeeper.
If counterattack is the plan, then Rinsola and Ordega should start on the wings.

They should practice shooting and crossing more.
Shooting was the same problem with u17 and u20 side at their world cup where they had over 30 shots and couldn't score. The Shakirat Moshood and Taiwo Afolabi set. It started from group stage and the coach did nothing to address it till we were edged out out the competition. Maybe it's time to make it a top prerequisite going forward.

Count Okeke out, she’s injured and recently underwent foot surgery that’s why she’s not there.. If not we won’t have seen either of Shukurat or Usani…
At least by what she can offer based on previous showings. I hope Imuran steps up though. Before competition makes he slip down
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by daveP(m): 10:58pm On Jul 13, 2025
Simply put, that Algerian coach taught his girls well. Especially the defense. Sign showed they learnt something shapali after we flog dem for friendly.

Overall, the two Shakirats are here to stay. Usani still not showing how she's better than Okeke or Imuran in defense or attack. They should just convert her to wingback abeg.

Like Olowookere
Like Danjuma
Like Madugu

Birds of one feather called Mediocrity

These girls won't be playing this crap under Waldrum.
This is rubbish.

These 3 and shouting from the touchline and rubbish outcomes like 5 and 6
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by daveP(m): 9:31pm On Jul 13, 2025
So the last player to give a threat for this team from distance na Still Plumptre? 🤦🏽‍♂️

These girls need training on shooting abeg.

A more resolute team will just park bus and go to pk, especially if we haven't changed factory settings from that England WWC embarrassment of a pk.

Ordega should have scored that
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by daveP(m): 9:08pm On Jul 13, 2025
They're using basic passing techniques to turn our defense around. They don't even know how to finish else na 2-0 at this rate.

Ihezuo and Onumonu at same time
Rash and Echegini at same time
Kilode? 🤦🏽‍♂️

Extremely shameful the team cannot pass ball
Demehin go hold ball like Saliba dey look up without any pressure on her but na opponent las las she go comfortably pass too las las. Usani no dey see free body for middle to connect with so far. Stale combo for midfield
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by daveP(m): 8:52pm On Jul 13, 2025
Next training session, if i be head coach, i go ensure one rigid 30mins shooting session from 25yrds out for Christy and Onumonu. Cos undecided

The Nigerian cannot spray passes . This is shameful .. whatever is the outcome this is poor team
From the usage of words this coach dey shout for touchline since match start, I'll say this man na gidigbo mentalist. He wants Usani and christy to body check this Algerian winger every time she's with the ball but they haven't done so with steeze. Smh. He only shouts at the attack if they miss chance. 🤣

This is shameful. Algeria s are passing out from the back without any iota of pressure in their own half🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

What makes it worse is we haven't replicated this at all since the 1st game. Arggggghhhhhh.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by daveP(m): 8:40pm On Jul 13, 2025
That's what happens when a ignoramus coach plays two points without delegating their zone and duty. Smh. That's a nasty clash. Their natural instinct got the better. Both should not be playing same time. Smh
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by daveP(m): 8:37pm On Jul 13, 2025
Algerian are pass the ball better than us and its too glaring. What's this nonsense that Demehin and Usani dey do abeg? To buttress this, even Madugu dey vex for these two for touchline. Why Usani dey do like LB no be her zone. Dem go dey waka enter and she go dey look make Demehin do LB🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

Till tournament end

we need Mercy Idoko

Dr Rafiu Ladipo did a lot for Nigerian football, but he also wrecked our culture of singing and chanting in the stands.

Football chants are never politically correct. Football is like peaceful war and chants should reflect the feeling of the fans.

In the 1980s the whole stadium used to sing along with the supporters club and there were different songs and chants for each situation. The singing in the stands reflected what was happening on the pitch and the feeling of the fans.

When time has gone and the team hasn't scored, then you'll hear, 🎵All we are saying, give us our goal🎶 And 85,000 people would be singing the same song.

When the other team has a freekick or penalty you'll hear, 🎵Gba danu, gba danu, gba sigbo🎶 or
🎵Over the bar! Over the bar!🎶 And everybody would chant together.

If we wanted to threaten or warn the opposition or their fans, they'd sing, 🎵Won fi iku sere, won fi iku sere (insert name of opponent), won fi iku sere🎶

Before the match starts everybody would sing 🎵Baba wa ba wa se, Baba wa ba wa se o! Iwo lo wa da wa laiya, Baba wa ba wa se🎶

85,000 people would sing together. Famous musicians like Sam Akpabot would go and join the supporters club.

But Dr Rafiu Ladipo became president of the supporters club and then president of the African Supporters Club organisation and he brought political correctness into everything.

He said that 🎵All we are saying, give us our goal🎶 put too much pressure on the players. He removed songs and chants that could be considered violent.

The result is that what the supporters club plays does not reflect what's happening on the pitch and most times the fans do not sing with them. Their songs do not excite the fans anymore because they cannot relate to them. No new songs are coming up to reflect what's actually happening on the pitch.

We hardly have situations when the whole stadium is singing with the supporters club.
I'll love sports influencers and journos to raise awareness on these chants debacle. Perhaps a new more modern and melodic supporters club is needed, filled with composing songs that will sync with the players on the pitch. That culture needs rejuvenation.

it's time to say goodbye to the trumpet and drums that doesn't trigger a mosquito, and most especially, power hungry fellows that choose ambition and insanity over connections between player and fans

I pray the sports podcasters also raise this issue. Something needs to be done. Songs alone can make this generation return to football fanfare alone. But na grandparents wan dey stands for grandkids on the pitch.

Naw that song is a classic and the sign of a great Nigerian team is scoring during the song grin
The new gen need their own nitro song. Days of Babayaro, Aghahowa and Utaka don go. 😂
Its true though, scoring during the chant dey ginger even the weakest player that year.

We need new gen z chants.
