Morocco will be hosting the 2026 edition. That's 3 consecutive hosting. Wetin sef? undecided

But that's not what irks me. What irks me is why is it still 12 teams? Make this thing 16 abeg and let's enjoy ourselves abeg. Nigeria should host the 2028 one then. Kilode?

Meech goal was like a "Coachie abeg no extra time o" cos the man refused to sub. He must have been planning that. Congrats to them once again.

If Echegini is injured for the finals, Coach shouldn't make the mistake of going defensive with Ucheibe or Abiodun. he should start Payne ASAP!
Payne is suited for opponents like Morocco. But if na Ghana, trust the coach to go with the more physical Ucheibe or Debbie. Ghana are really doing what Senegal did to SA-making them look super ordinary. Extra time right now. The Moroccans are exhausted. It looks like this is the stadium the final will be played.

Shit happens!. It's football, a contact sport. And there's a referee to officiate the match and make the right calls. So if Debbie made a needless and reckless tackle, and got away without a booking, it's on the ref.

Wishing Gabriella Salgado a quick recovery but for me, her injury does not gonna subtract from our victory.
That's the issue.

I'm not inferring it subtracts. This is about Debbie as a player. And yeah, its on the ref but that doesn't take away from how reckless that was by her.

AkinDS:
It’s possible the WAFCON refs committee may recommend a red card and extended ban for Debbie, retroactively.
It’s been done before after review.
At this rate she needs to leave the Sergio Ramos spirit wherever she picked it from and refine her decision making as a midfielder. That tackle was similar to what Shawcross did to Ramsey that year. Let's see if they'll review it. If Debbie like make she dey vex say dem callam magnet. Make she no go drink jejely juice. E go shockam.

Was probably a yellow
I haven’t seen the replay clearly
I just saw the replay. It deserved red card. Red card naim that tackle be. It was reckless and ill timed. Gabriella wasn't even rushing to contend that ball when Debbie sweeped her leg off the ground. Naaahhhhh. That was super reckless mehn.

Our players better get ready
The finals will be 3 times tougher
The referee, smoke/flares, laser & flash lights from spectators as well as bad Moroccan authorities will try to make that final a bad day for them
Nigerian fans better get into the stadium 4 hours before else
Remember Ivory Coast Afcon 2024 finals & how many Nigerian fans were denied access to the stadium

Our coach isn’t good
Floating balls isnt it
We won’t get anything from European teams if we play like that
Our girls grit & Salgado’s predicament helped us squeeze this one over the line
Echegini couldn’t create anything in the middle & she may be injured now
Hopefully Toni Payne can step up
She was lost today mehnn. This should be the last attempt of Rash and JOE together henceforth. I thought it would work considering one is a work machine and the other is on flair. But e no work atalllll. The Roles given Esther and Ihezuo when SA was playing out from the back pushed the middle to farr out of reach and that affected building down the middle if Esther wasn't involved.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by daveP(m): 8:03pm On Jul 22, 2025
We are in the final but we have concerns. That's one funny thing about life. Doesn't mean such concerns should be sidelines, overlooked or shutdown. Striving to be better and formidable is the reach. We all know we are here mainly because these ladies are super resilient and determined, especially the Captain, Rasheedat.

Congratulations to the scrappy win. Na God save us cos even before that injury, we were on the back foot. Ajibade as POTM means na MVP she go end up with. Not even Banda will challenge her on APOTY going forward. But there's Cheebak to contend with sha.

If to say man get some technical levels for body, i for say he used the Jpes approach but that's a far reach to be sincere.

Poor Gabriela.
Her career has been plagued with injuries and she just returned from a major one to make this team to the WAFCON.
Really feel for her and wish her a speedy recovery. Can’t help but feel real sad for her.
That's 1year away from football activities. 😞😞😞😫😫😫😫😫😫😫

Sorry to all South African fans. Our wishes for speedy recovery are with her.

Compound fracture.
Debbie Ajibola plowed into her during the goalmouth scramble in the 83rd minute, which was an unfortunate accident.
Really hope Gabriella Salgado is okay and wish her a speedy recovery.
This really discolors the SF victory. 😕🙁
Infact i feel it dampened the SA entire team for the following minutes prior to that goal. The SA press may decide to milk this on Abiodun at this rate. But the Nigerian fans chanting in solidarity for Gabriella was commendable.

Alozie is causing problems for Ohale
Alozie gets beat a lot on the run
I agree with this part. The thing is why didn't she expect a run from that player? Sotey she had to pull.

Again, as this Madugu dey shout shout for Esther, not once did he scream down on Alozie to better. Abi na cos she farrr from his side ni? 🤣🤣🤣

Man ought to notice that and make amends but no. I dunno the duty of his assistants sha. I noticed one oyinbo on our bench as well. They ought to be his eyes. Unless he doesn't want their observations sha.

Thank you! Very good observations..

I’ve followed since the Zambia game and his changes have been like for like. Doesn’t seem like one with a plan B if his plan A gets shot.

I was saying here too that those girls are tired and Ijamilusi should have gone off since. Baba no dey hear anything o. Let’s hope that final too goes well
Yeah. It looks like he's found his advantage in Ihezuo and Esther and so he no wan look anybody else for that bench.😂😂

I expected Rinsola to play a few minutes. Even wanted an Ordega for Ijamilusi change after the Salgado injury. But na someone else come.

Abi the man bin dey plan for extra time ni only for Alozie to say No way!??

It's Morocco in the finals most likely. Morocco has a solid coach, Madugu has his work cut out. I would encourage him to shout less but rather watch the game keenly to be able to make the right tactical decisions. SA neutralized for the most part in the 2nd half.

Good win for the girls and wishing us all the best in the finals.
That kind of coach is more focused on his girls rather than reading the tactical approach of his opponents, hence he can't make in game changes for the tactical advantage. See how he was super focused on Ashleigh and Esther today, you'll think they stole his okpa.

Congrats to scrapping this win. E sweet say naso the goal come.

Ihezuo is an amazon. Ijamilusi should have gone off since 70th minute. She was tired. Same for Esther. I dunno the nitro wey Ajibade carry after SA equalize sha cos e kon be like they just subbed her in.😂😂

She was everywhere.

Demehin is one Useless Player!

She carried the ball out from her defense, Progressed nicely with the ball, now callously gave the ball away to a South African under no pressure, leaving her defense open for an attack, and yet jogging back 😂😩😩
That's Tosin for you. Over and over again that even her defenders don lock up. Expect it always. For that goal line incident, she was caught lost. Although Ashleigh was far away which should not be so, nobody was the focus of Tosin before that cross came in.

It should not be a penalty. At first I was shocked at the blatant pull then I watched the replay and saw there was no pull there.
Ohale should not be attempting a pull at that section of the pitch. Simple. It is a PK. Even if she redeemed herself with that goal line clearance, she messed up with that pk. Simple!!

Nigeria passes have been more effective... we've 2-3 big chances and south Africa can't have a shot on target.. anytime we go forward South Africa panic, in short Nigeria have been the better team
That's not about pass effective now. Haba. We aren't better at this right now in all honesty but we are the better threat. Make we dey tok true.

Bro I bet you... Morroco won't be a tougher opponent. I just pray we win this game last last.. anyhow.
What we have as a problem right now comes so naturally to them. Add the home advantage they'll have too and probably some funny officiating as well. South Africa is not doing much right now, but Morocco are going to stretch us with their pass accuracy. Of course the element of surprise rests with us as usual.

Really impressed with Folashade Ijamilusi. She's been very productive for us in this half. JOE needs to be more decisive and commanding. She's made a couple of schoolboy errors that shouldn't be.

Our midfield also needs to watch out cause S.A have been strolling through it the later part of the game.
The thing is coach don tell Esther to remain in the centre with Ihezuo behind her. They swap by their own instincts but Esther is a puppet to coach's shouts of hold, stay, just stay. Leaves the middle kinda open as Eche is not the tackle type. Anyways, they're content with wing play for now cos Seopo is on the wings. But Mothlalo isn't doing much either, asides the passes

They're literally using their passes to calm the game down. We had long freekick around 19th min too and Tosin pass to a yellow shirt. We need do better, especially if it's Moroccan that we gonna meet.

Toni Payne isn't needed. If anybody at all should be introduced into the lineup it should be Rinsola. Toni Payne can be directionless at times and doesn't add to that setup offensively. Rinsola can at least run, cross and shoot accurately. JOE can also shoot. I also wouldn't replace Ihezuo right now. She's hot so just leave her.
So far in this wafcon, we have just one out of the box convincing shooter and that's JOE. Keyword convincing. We can survive wafcon without that detail but we can't go to World Cup with such a disadvantage.

Toni and directionless in same sentence? 👀👀👀😳

To me this is where Toni Payne and Onumonu are needed in the XI

Besides, if we never solve this shooting issue, Dlamini go too shine o. That lady is good and na where i miss Oparanozie kind shot be dis. That freekick goal that year no fit comot my memory.
