SportsKeshi Wants Awoniyi In Super Eagles by daveyjay(op): 11:21pm On May 22, 2015
Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi said that he will be delighted to have Flying Eagles star Taiwo Awoniyi his squad.
Awoniyi is in the squad of the national Under-20 team seeking to win the FIFA World Cup in New Zealand.
Keshi argued that the player is ripe enough for the senior national team and should he have his way, the youngster will be the first player to play for all the national teams at one go.
The 18-year-old scored a brace for Samson Siasia’s U23 squad in a recent All African Games qualifier in Lusaka, Zambia.
He is likely to be in Siasia team to the Games and also the 2016 Olympics in Rio , Brazil .
“If you will recall, I gave Awoniyi his first call up to the Super Eagles sometimes ago because I know that he has the quality of a goal poacher who can deliver the goals when needed,” Keshi told Goal.
“But like I have always explained, playing for the age grade national teams is different from the Super Eagles.
“Taiwo Awoniyi is young and talented and has the quality of a good striker. So who says he can’t lead the Eagles attack?
“He just needs to be ready for the task and show it on the field of play which I believe the boy is capable of doing.”

SportsU/20 W.cup: Success, Iheanacho To Start From Bench by daveyjay(op): 10:58pm On May 21, 2015
Europe-based strikers Isaac Success, Kelechi Iheanacho and Moses Simon are most likely to start the U20 World Cup from the bench as coach Manu Garba plans to integrate them gradually into his team in New Zealand.
The Europe-based stars did not turn up at a training camp in Nurnberg, Germany, and would instead head directly to New Zealand for the tournament.
But coach Manu has maintained he does not plan to rush them into his first team from the start of the World Cup.
“We are not saying these players will come in automatically to the first team, they will be coming in gradually for them to find a synergy with the other players,” he revealed.
“They will not get into the team in the very first match, they will sit on the bench and observe and whenever we need them, they will come on to do the damage.”
He further argued that these players will have no problem blending with the rest of the team at the World Cup.
“I don’t have any fear (about blending) because these players have been with us,” he said.
“Even Moses Simon was with us in the early part of the U17 team before he went on to play for the U20 team. He may not know our philosophy, but for Kelechi and Success, they know how we play right from the U17s. Kelechi even played the qualifiers.
because he played in the same academy in Kaduna with Musa Yahaya and he is a striker who knows when and how to move. It will be easy for him to adapt.
“We have two, three training sessions together (in New Zealand) and they will again know how we play and what we want them to contribute to the team.”
He added: “They are all coming from competition and so you can’t fault their fitness level.
“And the language of the game is simple – If you have the ball, before you release it, you have to look up and see the movement of your player. If the other player has the ball, you have to move to a vital space to receive the ball.
“I believe getting that cohesion will not be very difficult because two of them, Kelechi and Success, have been with this team, while Moses will adapt very quickly.
“We will sit them down to show them what we expect them to do. I believe they will adapt because they are young players and very, very intelligent.”

EducationVodacom Empowers Girls To Study ICT by daveyjay(op): 1:45am On May 21, 2015
No fewer than 100 Nigerian girls from private and public senior secondary schools in Lagos get support from the partnership between Vodacom Business Nigeria and e-Business Life Communication Limited to studying Information and communication technology at tertiary level. This was disclosed as the students converged to celebrate the International Girls in ICT Day.
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Obafunke Atanda, Senior Manager Product Portfolio, Vodacom Business Nigeria, noted that the number of females currently employed in ICT in Nigeria is extremely low compared to males.
According to her, the development could be attributed not only to the relative lack of females studying science and technology at secondary and tertiary level, but also, the number of females given access to formal education.
She explained that the partnership is aimed at encouraging youths especially females to include science and technology among their career choices. ‘’The intention is to increase the number of females in the ICT sector of Nigeria which is currently dominated by men. The company promotes the education and training of girls in primary and secondary schools, thereby empowering them at an early stage.
“We feel it’s our responsibility to support initiatives aimed at increasing the number of skilled and qualified women in Nigeria, and we enjoin other companies to contribute to this course.” Empowering female students, she maintained would address the root cause of the lack of female advancement in education, unwanted teenage pregnancy and domestic violence.
Meanwhile, the CEO of e-Business Life Communication Limited, convener of the Girls in ICT for Lagos, Mrs. Ufoma Emuophedaro said “Companies like Vodacom are playing a key role in the global push to get young women and girls excited about a future career in ICT. You educate a woman, you educate a generation. We are grateful for Vodacom’s participation and support for this event”.
She said that Girls in ICT Day is a time when girls have the opportunity to reflect on the importance of ICT to their future careers. It is a day where girls gain hands-on skills in ICT development, and realize that coding, blogging or app development is a fun and creative way to make a difference in the digital world.

EducationGovernment College, Epe, Wins Spirit Of Lagos Challenge by daveyjay(op): 12:49am On May 21, 2015
Government College, Ketu, Epe, has won this year’s edition of the Spirit of Lagos, SOL, challenge which is aimed at allowing the students come up with solutions to some of the social problems they face either in their schools or communities.
The keenly contested competition by secondary schools from the six education districts of the state saw the winning school, representing Education District 3, come up with a presentation on the need for people, especially students, to imbibe the maintenance culture as a habit so as to protect private and public infrastructure around them.
In second place is Community Senior Grammar School, Gberigbe, Ikorodu, representing Education District 2, with a presentation tagged ‘Wipe Out Dirt and Litters from CSGS’ community. Ifesowapo Aboru Senior Secondary School, Alimosho, representing Education District 1, came third with their presentation focusing on ‘Converting Waste to Wealth’.
According to their presentation, the need to repair and maintain school furniture has become imperative as lack of adequate furniture is a major challenge most schools in the state face. “We faced a lot of challenges, chief among which are changes in weather which led to the reconstruction of our workshop and fear of sustaining injury, which prompted us to organise a seminar on first aid.
“The introduction of the SOL has led to us repairing over 261 school furniture which has led to an improvement in our academics as we concentrate more when we have adequate furniture. With the repairs, we have helped the Lagos State government save over N1.8 million.”
Urging students to embrace the SOL Initiative, the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Mrs. Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, said the initiative, which is in tandem with the state government’s efforts in ensuring overall development of the various communities in the state, will reawaken in the students, the spirit of patriotism, which is the hallmark of development in any community.
The Deputy Governor said “the Spirit of Lagos school challenge is a noble idea that seeks to stimulate in students the desire to proffer solutions the social problems facing their communities. It is indeed a laudable step towards inculcating the right attitude to leadership in the younger generation.
“No society that neglects its leaders of tomorrow can truly be said to be heading towards a greater future and this is why the state government is investing so much in the future of the students and youths in the state in terms of infrastructure and educational support.
In her welcome address, the General Counsel to the Governor of Lagos State, Mrs. Oyinkan Badejo-Okusanya, thanked the various schools for their continuous efforts in lifting the Spirit of Lagos higher by striving to complement the state government’s efforts towards making Lagos a place for all.

HealthGonorrhoea: Silent Rage Of A 'forgotten' Disease. by daveyjay(op):
gonorrhoea – a curable sexually transmitted disease caused by the bacterium Neisseria gonorrhae.
Gonorrohoea is acclaimed to be the world’s most commonly reported Sexually Transmitted Infection, STI. Also known as Veneral Disease, VD, “gentleman’s disease”, the “clap”, or the “drip”, it infects thousands yearly, although more unreported cases are also believed to occur each year. It can be passed from a mother to her baby during childbirth and the newborn babies normally show symptoms in their eyes during the first two weeks. The eyes become red and swollen, and have a thick, pus-like discharge.
Gonorrhoea can cause rectal disorder in men and painful or swollen testicles in men. In women it causes blockage of fallopian tubes which eventually lead to infertility. In babies it can cause blindness. It can affect so many organs of the body. Experts say any sexually active person can be infected with gonorrhoea, yet nearly 75 percent of all reported cases is found in individuals 15 to 29 years old.
They say the most common symptoms of gonorrhoea are a discharge from the external sex organs and painful or difficult urination. It can infect the genital tract, the mouth, and the rectum. In women, the cervix and uterus can be the first place of infection, with the disease later spreading to the uterus and fallopian tubes, resulting in pelvic inflammatory disease, PID, that affects more women each year and can cause ectopic pregnancies and infertility in as many as 10 percent of infected women.
Investigations show that the highest rates of gonorrhoea infection are found in 15- to 19-year-old women and 20- to 24-year-old men. When someone is diagnosed with gonorrhoea, they must tell all of their sexual partners, because they needed to get tested and then treated if infected, whether or not they had symptoms of infection.
As a sexually transmitted infection, gonorrhoea is often under-diagnosed. It is important to try to practice safe sex and to see a doctor if any symptoms appear. Left untreated they can cause fertility problems and have other unpleasant long-term effects. According to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, women have a 60-80 percent risk of contracting the disease after a one-night stand.
While symptoms depend on which part of the body is infected, the infection is asymptomatic in 50 percent of female carriers, so it can easily be passed along unknowingly. Left untreated, the STI can trigger chronic pelvic pain, pregnancy complications, and even infertility in women and an increased risk of contracting HIV.
In recent times, several cases of the disorder have defied treatment following emergence of multi-drug resistance in the bacteria that causes gonorrhoea, to a range of normal and special strength antibiotics. In recent years, effective treatment options for the newest strain of drug-resistant gonorrhoea have dwindled to injectable antibiotic called Cefriazoxone.
Though treatable, are becoming increasingly serious problem in developing countries. The availability of antibiotics in chemists’ shops is believed to be encouraging self-medication with sub-therapeutic doses and inadequate treatment regimens.
Physicians speak
Consultant Physician, Department of Surgery, University of Benin Teaching Hospital, UBTH, Benin City, Edo State, Dr. Edwin Obarisiagbon, notes that gonorrhoea patients will have pains and may be discharging pus from the urethra. For the ladies usually they may not have symptoms but over time they develop complications like the blockage of the fallopian tubes (connection between the root of the womb and the ovaries) and this one will eventually lead to infertility. For the men, the urethra becomes narrowed such that the patient may not be able to urinate properly.
Gonorrhoea is said to be dangerous in the sense that like the women they may become infertile because the diseases has caused blockage the tube that connects the womb to the ovary. For men it can give a life- long disease. That the urethra becomes very narrow and they will have problem with passing urine.
Often times it may not manifest immediately, and may take years before the complications will arise. It will just be there but the patient will not know he has contacted the disease especially if he not treat the disease or it was poorly treated. The complications may take up to 10 years in men or beyond before manifesting. Some people will go to chemist and the infection gets better and after that time the infection will continue to destroy organs of the body.
As soon he notices he is bleeding, he should see a doctor. Complications can be treated if the disease is treated early and well. Obarisiagbon says gonorrhoea is not treated in isolation. “We treat other STIs along with gonorrhoea. It may take five to seven days. On its own it can be treated with a single dose.” On drug resistance, he said it is advised that before “statrting any treatment, a culture and sensitivity test based on symptoms should give high index of suspicion and we will start treatment.
“Often times it works but if not, we use a stronger drug. The symptoms will then disappear. Most times we see the complicated cases who either did not turn up for treatment or were never treated at all or those who were not properly treated. The prevalence is not on the rise. We see about three or so cases in months and most of them are complicated.
Most of the patients live in denial because some even when you questioned them they say they had it in the past while some will keep on denying they ever has it until we discover they did have it in the past. But we have to go ahead with the treatment. On prevention, Obarisiagbon said: “You cannot prevent people from having sex but the bet is prevention. There is need for people to use condom to protect against infections. And we also advise that patients should go to physicians who will treat them properly because more problems may present later.
They should also know that they may be at risk of contracting HIV. Generally health education is very important for patients. If a patient is immediately and adequately treated the disease can be cured and the complications averted,” he advised. Explaining the procedure for the treatment of gonorrhoea in the hospital, Chief of Urology and Head,   Department of Surgery, Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, Idi Araba, Lagos, Dr. Kehinde Habeeb Tajani,   said treatment begins with proper diagnosis.
“Most times, what people call gonorrhoea isn’t gonorrhoea. But once we are sure it is gonorrhoea, the treatment is default, Just antibiotics only. “You must be sure that it is gonorrhoea. Gonorrhoea is treated with antibiotics and there are different types of antibiotics. Some may just be a one dose treatment; others have to be used over a few days, the key thing is to be sure that it is gonorrhoea,” he stated.
Confirming the issue of resistance of the bacteria to common antibiotics, Tijani said gonorrhoea has been around for hundreds of years and there are some drugs that the bacteria were sensitive to before, and are no longer sensitive to, particularly penicillin and so on. Despite that, there are also many new drugs that the causative organism is very sensitive to. That is proven.”
Speaking of the incidence of gonorrhoea at LUTH, Tijani said it is not as common as it used to be in the past. “The incidence has drastically reduced worldwide and one of the major reasons for this is the widespread anti-HIV campaign that encourages people to wear condoms. That is the most likely reason why it is not so common, and of course the ready availability of antibiotics. The incidence has drastically reduced worldwide not just in Nigeria.”
Local traditional healers: On the local traditional healers, he said it is a societal thing and not just for gonorrhoea, and also one of the major reasons why there are so many complications of the disease. The complications can be really devastating ranging from infertility in mean and women, inability to pass urine because of poorely treated gonorrhoea.
My own advise will always be, go and see a medical practitioner. Most times what pepole thing is gonorrhoea is not gonorrhoea. Its diagnosis is with the swab of the discharge from the male organ examined and you find the causative bacteria there. If you do not find it, it is not likely to be gonorrhoea. People should go to the doctor so that they have the right diagnosis made.
Stigma in the hospital: Tijani argues that it is possible there may be some stigma about gonorrhoea, but says the most important thing for the individual is to look at the opportunity cost. “It is very wrong to stigmatise somebody with gonorrhoea as it can happen to anybody because occasionally one can pick the bacteria even from the toilet seat. If you look at the complications, I can tell you they are truly, truly devastating for the unlucky man or woman.
“The so-called fear of stigma should be insignificant. I have not noticed that in our own practice here probably because we’ve seen worse cases. Somebody coming with gonorrhoea as far as we are concerned is like somebody coming with malaria. If anybody is stigmatised, that’s unfortunate. I can say that in our practice here we do not do that and I can vouch for a lot of my colleagues.
Prevention: The most important thing is being reasonable. Practice safe sex, If you have symptoms that make you suspect you have picked up an infection that could be an STI, please go to a hospital. If you are not comfortable with the attention, you can go to a teaching hospital which are readily available and be sure that you are goi ng to have expert care.
Untreated gonorrhoea, particularly in women could cause a lot of damage. , many have it and not know and that is when it is most dangerous. It could cause a lot of damage without them realising it. The best thing is to go to and have treatment at a standard medical centre. Good Health Weekly went on the trail of a traditional healer who claims to have encountered and treated cases of gonorrhoea.
Mr Abdulfatai Yakubu of of Aladuba Herbal Medicine, Lagos, said before the advent of Western medicine, there were local ways of treating such diseases. In a chat he disclosed some of the traditional approaches towards taking care of such ailments. “When people come with this sickness, we have our ways of knowing it is gonorrhea, even without carrying out a test. The issue of gonorrhoea has been in existence before the arrival of Western way of treatment, and we treated it effectively.
Further, Yakubu explained: “Detecting gonorrhoea in the traditional way is very easy as it can present with different signs. When it is about to start in some people they will experience pain around their abdomen. “Some may feel something moving around in their sex organ when trying to urinate. But if left unattended for about four days, the person will be really feeling uncomfortable anytime he tries to urinate and it may soon result in discharge of pus.
“ As the condition gets worse, blood may be discharged along with the urine and by then the person will begin to lose weight.” It affects both men and women and if left untreated in women may lead to irregular menstruation and in some cases cause delay in pregnancy. In the man, there could be low sperm count and cause premature ejaculation.
Yakubu said the traditional healing is differentiated from the Western treatment because herbs are engaged in the former. “Treating gonorrhoea in my herbal home involves combination of herbs prepared with water and roots in form of powder. The powder can be taken with with pap or warm water.
“I give people this mixture and tell them to use it morning and night, by the time they return the following day they must have some level of relief. Some people take it for six days, others 10 days. There are people who after treatment require some herbs to take occasionally for protection.”

ogeneigbo:
Hello ladies and gentlemen, it is my pleasure to be a blessing to you all.
Looking at the situation of Nigeria, I felt the only way I could give to people is telling them my secret to financial freedom for free. Yes free!!!.

A lot of people online will tell you if you want to know their secret, pay $10 bla bla...... I don't think that's real help if at all they are genuine and not scammers. I wouldn't really blame them because giving out something for free won't be valued. For me, I'm going to
break that record by giving you my secret to financial freedom.

When I was a child my parents will tell me go to school, study a good course, graduate with good grade, get a good job and your future is secured. This is the mentality of every Nigerian who goes to school. Ask a student he or she will tell you he wants to study a good course so that they can get a good paid job.
As for Madam Kate who I met recently at Eko bank and ask her how good she enjoys her job as the manager who earns a whooping sum of #500,000 per month, and she would sincerely tell you we are slaves. Every person working in the bank will identify with this. You wake early rush off to work of mental depression and go back very late only to wake up early again to work. This is called "stress" which is a killer. Now let me ask this question. For how long will we continue in this cycle and we keep on instilling this same procedure to our children. This is what I call "Generation enslavement"

While reading the book of Robert kiyosaki called "The cash flow quadrant" he elaborated that there are only four ways to earn. Either you are

( Employee) (Business owner)
you have a job people work for you

(Self employed). (Investor)
You own a job money works for you

If you are on the left side, you are on the rat race
If you are on right side, then you rule the world.

Wonder why Bill gates, Mark Zukerberg, Oprah Winfrey, even our own Dangote are the richest and world changers today in the society? Neither of these people in their quest for success graduated from a high learning institution.
I'm not trying to say that going to school is not good, but that the real world faces you after you graduate from a university.
Dangote has the biggest industry producing sugar in Africa and even second in the world, he was awarded for providing employment for Nigerians(graduates).
Why would you spend so many years in a university only to work for someone who dropped out of school or even an illiterate?
Now reassess your goals and know if you are really wiser than these men who saw the enslavement and took to their heels to become financially free.
Dangote and the above mentioned characters are under the business owners and investors.
Your destiny is now in your hands to choose the rat race or being financially wealthy.
Sack your boss today and become a boss. A saying goes that a rich mind sees opportunity and grabs it while the poor ignores it and get poorer only to feed the rich. I wonder why the poor are envious and angry with the rich when they have decided to waste opportunities.
Now I'm talking to you, do you want to be a be a master or slave? Do you want to determine how much you earn or allow someone reward your huge effort with peanuts? Take a deep breath, answer the above questions before reading the next paragraph. If you want to remain stagnant or a slave then quit reading now, if not, go ahead and see my new found secret.

I have never wanted to work under someone in my life yet I was still on the left quadrant because there was no money to start up a company that would run on a system, so I took a job that I received #50,000 monthly after my NYSC. Sometimes, before I received a paycheck, I would already be in debt because I have pay my bills, feeding, transportation, clothing, etc. I was in this same rat race, always broke and smiling but I was dead inside because there was no savings, nothing positive at all. It was like a rat hole. Not until I found out about this investment for life business that has given me financial freedom to sleep and wake up anytime I want and get money flowing into my bank account like the ocean with almost no work at all. In fact this business thought me that being lazy still pays yes! Get lazy and get rich.

Here comes the deal "Alliance In Motion Global" this company changed my life both health wise and wealth wise. They are the best multi-level marketing company now in the world and trust me
I'm a living testimony.
With this company you understand the power of what I call investing with zero yes zero! And become a millionaire in few days. When I first heard of this company i doubted how possible to make money with their system pattern because it was unbelievable but today I’m a testimony.
