Visa Alert

I’m really not very good with lengthy messages, but the journey has been amazing, started the journey with Hertfordshire got denied because of previous visa denial. I then applied to Birmingham city university, got a conditional offer. After sending all the required documents, I did my interview and everything seemed to be going fine.

Then the time for biometrics and visa application came, this is very my faith was tested at different times. I can say somethings because of how sensitive they are but trust me when I say it was a real trying period. Did my biometrics 28th of April, got nsf around 14th of May. I honestly got scared after the nsf Mail(they requested nothing by the way). Got a collect mail yesterday (my self and my wife got the Mail almost at the same time) we picked our visas today.
Congratulations!!!

Please who could be of help, i mistakenly put Miss instead of Mrs , now her offer is out, i have actually paid for her deposit, waiting for her CAS, how can i change it from Miss to Mrs so that it doesn't affect us when applying for visa.
Just inform the school to make the correction. Do this before the CAS is issued.

*Visa Alert*
It’s been a long and bumpy journey but God has been good to me.
Applied for a visiting visa and got denied in October 2021 for lack of evidence of sources of funds and travel history.
Started the student visa process immediately with hopes of japa-ing in January.
I’m a third class holder and didn’t want premasters because of the funds involved so I started applying to different schools, Coventry was the first to give me admission but the fees was just too high. Oxford Brooke’s followed with Birmingham city uni and I chose Oxford Brooke’s because it was direct masters for management in health and social care with 13,900 tuition fees. Paid the tuition deposit and then they refused me cas because I declared my previous visa refusal to their Isat, they said they were afraid I will get another refusal. I was so devastated cos at the them they did this, I had already missed Coventry’s deadline(Dec 18th). I already had my tb test result and had to start all over applying to schools and looking for Jan start. I eventually got University of west London and sunderland the same time. Sunderland also refused me cas because of my previous visa refusal. I had to go UWL even with the 10k deposit required. Did their precas interview and passed but they too denied me cas because of my previous visa refusal! At this point I didn’t know what to do again, time was going, pof was ready and only cas remained. I now sent them a very lengthy mail explaining myself and situation that moved them and they offered me a deferment instead to June as I wasn’t going to be able to make January start when they responded. They gave me a new offer and issued my cas on the 9th of April.
Biometrics was on the 11th of April
1st paid mail 11th of may, no decision made
Got slammed with NSF mail requesting nothing on the 13th of May
Second paid mail 17th of May no decision
Third paid mail 24th of may, decision made
Application transferred to VAC on the 26th of May
Collection mail same 26th
Picked up today
Tls-VI
Documents submitted: cas, pof, waec certificate, passport data page and bsc certificate(self service).
5years study gap.
Wishing all those awaiting Goodnews soonest IJN

Yes. Apply for MBA instead of MSC.

Please house I need to restrategize.
I got a rejection from Anglia Ruskin University and Bournemouth University sent a mail to my references late.
Now I have to wait on eight (cool other universities which doesn't seem tenable for September entry.
What can I do please?
I applied for MSc Accounting for all ten, although I've been doing more of Sales and Business Development for the past 4 years now.
What course would most likely sell me easily and warm the heart of these schools to me considering my 15+ years study gap (First degree) except for PDGM and MBA which I cannot present for admission?
I think you need to revisit that MBA. It’s probably your best option considering your years of study gap and current job role.

I know someone who applied to 2 schools for MBA and got unconditional offers from both schools. He has a 14 yr+ gap year and he also works in Sales. His BSc is in Banking and Finance.

Pls guru my wife is pregnant and we are going for our TB test next month hope there won't be any issue hope she will be allowed to do the test
Please read the guidelines in your appointment confirmation document regarding pregnant women. I think it depends on how advanced the pregnancy is ( you may want to avoid the X-ray because of radiation). Also there is a second option of sputum collection for pregnant women.

My advise, consult with your physician before embarking on this so as to avoid any unwarranted issues concerning the baby.

Hello everyone,
Please can anyone help me with what I need to process maintenance funds through trade system, and how much is the maximum I can apply for?
Thank you very much
You can't process your POF via the trade system. It is meant to be in your account for 28 days. As for school fees payment via the trade system, the maximum you can pay is equivalent of $15,000 per quarter.

Immigration asking for POF at the point of entry? where una dey see this conjecture?
they can only ask if you have something substantial on you, like say £200 up ward that can cater for inland transportation and few day to day buying
It was a suggestion. Especially because you never know what kind of immigration officer you’d meet at your point of entry.

Okay got you.
Must the money still be there till visa comes out
It is advisable that you leave the money in your account after the visa is granted and also till you enter the UK just Incase the immigration officers ask to see your proof of funds at your point of entry.

The fastest route is to open a Domiciliary account (USD) with any of the Nigerian Banks, buy dollars from the blackmarket, deposit into your dom account and pay using your bank card.

Hello house, I need some clarifications please to enable us make a decision.
1. How affordable is living in Reading for a student with young dependents? I am considering University of Reading because they offer the specific course I want but I haven’t seen anyone going there.

2. From experience would it be advisable I apply with my family, or Is it better I apply first and my family later.

3. The 28 day money thing, is really confusing me. If for instance I deposit money on the 1st of may, when am I to submit my application?

Anyone with experience in the house please your input is needed. Thank you
The best place to start is by doing online research. You mentioned that no one here seems interested in the school but that shouldn't deter you since they offer the specific course you are interested in. Else, you can check other schools to see if they offer the course and then proceed to apply.

With regards to POF, it's calculated by summing the following
1. Tuition Balance (Assuming you've paid a deposit via Form A or any other means)
2. Living allowance for the main applicant + dependents
The POF is calculated as thus - May 01-May 28. You can print your bank statement on May 29th (the UKVI uses the Oanda exchange rate but it's advisable to have excess sum in your account in case of exchange rate fluctuations)

If you can afford it, It's better to travel with your family, especially with the changing government policies, all we know is in the now and it's best to seize every opportunity.

Hope this helps. Good luck with your pursuit of a greener pasture.

Try Kent Business School in Canterbury, University of Hertfordshire or Anglia Ruskin University. They are all close to London and your hubby can work in London while you live in any of the cities where the schools are located.

Hi Dear, i had my baby in Maryland too and i can attest its way pricey...if you are in Baltimore, try Mercy Medical Center. My total Initial Bill was over $10k but we got discout from the doctors bill and it came down to $8700. Please bear in mind that i stayed in the hospital for 24hrs and i had a Vaginal Birth...I pray your childbirth will be easy as mine. Labor took about 3hrs from when i got to hospital to when i gave birth...all the best.

Have you tried Etihad? they fly directly to IAD or you can opt for the connecting flight via JFK. They are also relatively cheaper than Emirates.

I think one of the major reason for the denial is that you have a 10 month old son yoi plan to leave behind in Nigetia for a while. May i suggest you reapply with him?

Hello My Fellow Naira Landers!

Came to hospital on Friday 14th Oct at 11pm for them to check if I was dialated I gave birth at 2.5am on 15th of October. No Epidural or medicine received. Somebody please shout hallelujah! !
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 4 by Davidandgo: 6:56pm On Sep 25, 2016
Fellow Nairalanders,

I'm sorry it took a while to share my own Point of Entry story. I travelled on Etihad and had a connecting flight at Abu Dhabi. Also, the Abudhabi airport has an alliance with the US Immigration system such that you are expected to meet the CBP officers before connecting to your US flight. Also, bear in mind that i travelled with my toddler son who is a Canadian Citizen. And i was 34 weeks old and wore a maternity winter Pea Coat.

So Please see below my conversation with the CBP Officer.

CBP Officer: How you Doing
Me: I'm Fine Thank You
CBP Officer: Can i have your Passports?
Me: Hands him me and my son's Passports
CBP Officer: Please Place your hands on the Scanner
Me: I did as asked
CBP Officer: Where's Your final destination?
Me: IAD in Washington
CBP Officer: Stamps our Passports till Marc 2017, hands them over to me and says "You folks enjoy your holiday"
Me: Was shocked at first that he didnt ask me what we were going to do in the US. I quickly gathered myself and tells him "Thank you".

I collected our Passports and briskly proceeded to the our connecting gate.

My sisters and brothers, na so God do am for me o. I was already over prepared with cash and documents, but i ended up not requiring them. All i can say is that it is the Hand of God at work.

I look forward to sharing my testimony of child birth and hospital fees too very soon by God's grace.

Goodluck to everyone. and remember, Prayer changes things!

I am impressed by the wealth of Knowledge shared on this site. May God bless you all.

I"m however worried about the POE which by the way is Baltimore (BWI) as i wasnt pregnant when i was granted the visa.

Kindly advise me on the right step(s) to take.
