Hello, can I proceed to pay for my IHS and CISA fees even tho I am yet tobget CAS and my POF is running. I intend to do this so I can get a over date for biometrics and upload my CAS and POF before then.

I see on the UKVI website that if I proceed to pay IHS I won't be able to edit my answers of wumhuch I am yet to upload my CAS number

Is this possible?

duchess90 , Justwise and all pls advise.

The simple answer is No. you must state your CAS when filling the visa application form. Also if you read through this thread, you’ll see cases where people who paid their application fees prior to POF maturity (28 days) were refused. Though some people have gotten away with this, it’s best to err on the side of caution and wait the number of days as stated by the UKVI

Please my bro and his wife are applying for their visa together. the main applicant is my bro and he has submitted his application. But for the wife, the IHS form requires a 'visa expiry date' which he doesn't have yet.
for this purpose what should we use? the course end date?

Looking forward to your answers.

cheers

Yes! It’s the course end date. Check what’s written on the CAS document

Yes I did. When I choose Rqf 6 that portion does not show but it shows for other level.

If you are going for a post graduate course, you are meant to select RFQ 7. Please change it to the correct level. It should ask for the name of your bank.

This is what is listed on checklist, no personal bank statement. Hope this is not an issue and can I still go ahead and upload my bank statement.
Thanks

It should have a portion that speaks to your bank statement. Are you sure you filled the application form correctly?

Which is better a pounds or dollar account??

From my personal experience with Stanchart and GTB, the pounds account doesn’t make sense. I deposited ££ into my GBP Stanchart account. The bank converted the pounds in my account to Naira and my GBP transactions were debited at black market rate. I lost so much money. Needless to say I shut down the account.

GTB on the other hand does not issue a GBP card for your GBP account, you are expected to conduct your transactions using your USD card which also means you lose money because you are at the mercy of exchange rate between GBP and USD . So I decided to stick to my GTB USD account as my transactions are debited in USD and I’m able to pay for services on most international websites including the UKVI and IHS.

Other people can share their experience to enable you make an informed decision.

Source for dollars at black-market, deposit in your Dom account with any Nigerian bank - e.g GTB, use your card to make payment online.

Secondly, is it advisable to apply for visa while my POF is just 21 days old using assisted service? Please I’d appreciate a detailed explanation on this

You no longer require the COVId PCR test to enter the UK. And no wait for your POF to mature before applying. Also print it on the 29th day.

You can fill the application form on the 29th day as long as all your supporting documents such as CAS and TB cert are ready.

Hope this helps and Goodluck!

Collection mail:

Documents submitted:

POF. (globus Bank)
IELTS
Degree certificate
TB certificate
Change of name documents
Marriage certificate
Passport

NSF on study gap sent on 5/7/2022 replied same day.

Spouse:
TB certificate
Marriage certificate
POF in MA account
Correction letter (I made a mistake in my passport expiry date and MA course end date)

Children:
Birth Certificate
TB certificate
Consent letter
Third party declaration consent.

NOTE:
I made a mistake in my POF calculation.POF was held in account only 9 days when we submitted the application and paid. I never knew the money has to stay full 28 days before submitting the online application. My POF matured on the date of my biometrics. I calculated from the date I deposited my POF to the date of the biometrics.
We have to eschew unnecessary fears cos must of the things that make people cancel their application doesn’t really matter to the UKVI.

To all of you still waiting for their decisions, it shall end in praise.
Cheers all.

Like I said, I was refused on my first visit application because I didn’t include an itinerary - at least that was what was stated on the letter I received.

Having gained from other people’s experience for my other travels, I thought to give back by sharing the information based on my experience and it’s up to would be applicants to either use it or not.

Family of 5

Please It's going to be a long read, Kindly be patient as you read through

Application date for MA : 17th of May

Application date for 4 dependants : 28th of May (Hubby and 3kids )

Biometric for all : 31st of May

NSF for MA : 17th of June ( For study gap documents which I sent on the 21st of June

Paid mail for MA on the 28th of June, Collection mail for MA same day.

Several Paid mails and calls for dependants : awaiting decision( I literally got tired of these)

Paid Call for all dependants: 8th of July ( Decision has been made ) Ope o

Transferred and received by VAC : 15th of July

Collection Mail : 15th of July

Collection of our 5 Passport: 18th of July with Vignette sitting pretty on it
------------------------------------'
Ok, Back to the main gist ;

I submitted a proof of Fund from 1st of May to 30th of May.. (30 days pof)

On the 3rd of June , Someone here said she was refused because she Applied and paid both Visa and IHS 5 days to her POF maturity of 28th days .. when i saw it, I was devastated because I applied on the 17th of May, Paid both Visa and IHS same day...but printed from 1st to 30th of May which means I only held it for 17 days .. MOGBE!!!‍♀️‍♀️

I became so worried , but Thank God for God , @duchee90 and @Mosinmiloluwa that came through for Me and gave me hope for NSF .

Kindly note, My pof has been in my account since March, Paid my full tuition fees in April ... submitted my pof for cas ... from March 30th to 27th of April ( Cas was given on the 12th of May)

Hence , NSF became my everyday prayer cos I really needed it to print another POF for them .. infact I've informed my account officer I'm coming to the bank very soon .

When I got the first NSF for my 10 years study Gap , I kept on praying for the second one so I can send the POF to them .. but it's didn't come . On the 28th of May I made a paid mail and I was told decision has Been made and Collection mail dropped! How ? Why ? Without NSF for the POF ? That was when I realised what my school told me then that they are sending my documents with my POF and Bank Reference letter to UKVI for my CAS , so it has to be up to date .

Documents submitted : Passport,POF, Degree Certificate,Transcript, Neco Certificate, Change of Name , Marriage certificate , TB Certificate, IHS and Visa evidence of payment, Cas file ,checklist , Visa Application form ..(Infact I uploaded enough documents for them )

Dependants: hubby - his POF , Marriage Certificate, Biodata page, family pictures in a file , TB Certificate
.
For the kids: Hubby POF, Consent form signed by both Parents, biodata page, birth Certificate, TB Certificate.

I declared 2 Canada study visa refusal 2015 & 2016
1 UK Visiting visa 2021 December.

The kids also declared UK Visitor visa refusal ..

It was Only Hubby that was given the Visitor Visa and He Spent just 2 weeks

All declared !!

I'm just so happy seeing our passports with visa stamped in it ...

It's a dream comes true Fam...

Like what Pastor Jerry said on NSPPD on the 6th of June : He said.. "STOP THE FEAR , NOTHING WOULD GO WRONG" I held on to the word and God Came through for me and my Family ...

I'm also saying to everyone here waiting for their Visa that You should "Stop the fear; Nothing will go wrong .

As we are Investing into our future and that of our Family , May God Smile on Us and OursMay We All Eat the Fruits of The UK Land . Amen

Sunderland.. He We Come .. You Must Favour Us

Thank you so much Everyone, God bless

I’m so happy for you! Truly what God cannot do does not exist! We shall all come back here to share our testimonies too very soon in Jesus name, Amen.

Congratulations!!!

Hello All,
I’m a silent reader on this thread and having seen a couple of visa refusals, I thought to share with everyone applying for UK VISA that as long as your other documentations are intact (Emoloyment letter, bank statements, promotion letters, payslips, your pension account statement ( which shows ties to Nigeria) etc, you can tidy up your visa application by providing an itinerary that clearly states your plans for tourism, accommodation, feeding and transportation. Also, you do not necessarily need to go overboard by following these tips.

The purpose of this is to help ensure you can successfully convince the ECo that your low budget will be enough for your trip.

Just to add: My first UK visa application was refused in 2012 because I did not include my travel itinerary. I have since learnt that valuable lesson, made corrections and to the glory of God, my visit visas have been granted each time I applied afterward. Here are some tips I’d like to share.

1. Tourist attractions
https://www.visitlondon.com/things-to-do/budget-london/free-attractions-in-london

Check that site for list of free things to do in London.

2. Accommodation

Sites like Agoda and Booking.com have cheap hotel accommodations. Albeit some are slightly expensive but any Ibis, Travelodge etc hotels are generally affordable. Just ensure the hotel you book is not too far from the london tourist attractions you plan to visit so you can save on transportation. I like to book ahead so I look for deals that have Free Cancellations. E.g If. Plan to submit my UK visa application in August and my trip is planned for December, I will search for hotels on Agoda and Booking.com that have the option of Free Cancellation by 31st of November ( this is to ensure I don’t lose money if the visa is not issued for any reason)

3. Transportation

My advise is to take the bus and train as much as possible. Research your routes and Google train and bus fares. So you can figure out the cost and have a rough estimate

4. Feeding

If you book an accommodation with bed and breakfast, be rest, all you need to figure out is lunch and dinner which you can buy from McDonald’s, Nandos ( my absolute favorite), KFC etc

5. Google is everyone’s friend and there are no dumb questions to ask. When researching, I always type in my questions as it comes to my head and if needed, Google corrects and shows the information I need. Ensure you research everything you need to know about your itinerary so much so that you’d start to seem like a local.

6. Itinerary

Once all the above is sorted, please type out your itinerary, explaining to the ECO how you plan to spend your one week in UK.

Here’s an example

Day 1- Arrive at Heathrow Airport via Emirates Airline at 7.15am. Clear immigration and take the Heathrow Express to Paddington which is 0.5km to my booked hotel

Day 1- Refresh, have some breakfast at the hotel and then take the Bus to Buckingham Palace (2 miles from my hotel). From there, proceed to London Museum (Cost : £0) , ( and state any other tourist site you plan to visit while ensuring they places are close to each other).
Return back to my hotel and retire for the night.

Day 2- Hop on Hop off bus ( this is at a cost. Not sure of the amount but for the sake of this message, let’s say £25).

Day 3- Visit the Coca-Cola London Eye ( This is also at a cost- check Google for the price)

Food is sold everywhere around London eye and it’s a great place to spend the whole day because there are multiple attractions at the site ( For a fee Ofcourse). If travelling with kids, look for fun kids activities such as Aquarium, Shrek etc which are also at the London Eye site.

Day 4 - Visist blah blah

Day 5- Visit Blah blah

Day 6 - Visit Blah Blah

Day 7- Return to Nigeria via Emirates airline on the 12 noon flight. ( the stated flight times are just estimates, check the actual time on your ticket reservation)

Cost Summary:
Return Flight Ticket: £600
Accommodation at Blah Blah ; £450 for 6 nights
Feeding: £150-£200
Transportation: £150-£200
Tourist Sites : £ 250 ( based on actual prices as shown on Google)

Ensure you attach a flight booking and hotel booking to your submitted documents.

Hope this helps and Goodluck to everyone!

I am meant to do my masters and return to Nigeria right? That is the ideal way. Not everyone believes in the abroad dream especially if they are doing well in Nigeria
He is offshore sometimes for 3 months so where should the child be at that time if I don’t go with her?

I can’t lie that we are separated when we are not. Applying with us will mean more POF and he is not ready for all that and I don’t have more than enough for his POF.
I have seen people get visa without their husbands.

It is strongly advised that you apply with your hubby. Once the visa is granted, he can travel to Nigeria and Bisit the UK as often as possible.

I have two friends who did this. Their husbands have great jobs in Nigeria so they visit the family in UK since they already have their BRP.

Hope this helps.

If your certificate is less than 5 years, you only need letter from your school to show that you were taught in English.
If not, you need IELTS test

I think this depends on the school’s requirements. Loads of people with gap years of 17 years and above here only submitted their WAEC and no IELTS results.

Please I am trying to fill an application for my children. Can I use same email I used for my application or I need to open I separate email for my children application

Please use your email. I assume your kids are minors and it’s expected that they won’t be able to monitor the progress of their application by themselves.

It is also easy for you to track their applications using your email address because each child/dependent is expected to have different passwords anyways.

A lot of people did this and they were able to track their children’s application.

Please bros, we need optimism NOW but not pessimism as this bros has painted. He is painting a gloomy picture which I refuse to accept.
Period.

There are jobs and there are good opportunities in the UK as it stands. He has forgotten that he is talking about a 3.5 Trillion Dollar Economy capacity that can absorb loads and loads of labour.

If you ask me, I would say choose a good course and also strive to take some professional certifications like Business Analysis, CIMA, ACCA, HR-CPD, OSHI for safety guys, Project management, ect..... Some of these certificates are short and can be taken online now. Sharpen your skills; these are what matter now for young people who japa from Nigeria. Anyway, the future is brighter here than in Nigeria.

So, getting a study visa to come to UK alone is achievement and a life time opportunity. How you see it and use it depends on you.

Thank you and God favour ALL of US in JESUS NAME.

Amen
