tope2000:Infact ehn . . . you too much. See as my head don big pass mt everest. |
This is simply an example of dishonesty, deliberate misrepresentation of the bible and a clear lack of understanding of the issues being discussed on Acts 21. |
My local government area is fine and dandy . . . tope have no fear. |
I still insist the white men who had little or no natural resources KNEW FROM THE ONSET they have their work cut out. Dams were built, natural energy were conserved, silos were built to preserve farm products and reh reh reh. Africans on the other hand were given these things on a platter of gold by God but they did nothing with it. I am not blaming God for blessing Nigeria abundantly but our people who have been indoctrinated genetically to sit on their asses and wait for God to put our refineries and epileptic power supply in order.
Lets be honest, prior to the 1980s we werent sitting on our asses waiting for God at all. We had a fast developing economy, flush with petrodollars and on par with the Asian tigers. Everything collapsed from the regime of Shagari. We had functioning refineries before, we had 24hrs electricity before, we had good schools, hospitals and a flourishing economy. We grew our own palm oil and even exported to Asia . . . what happened? did we suddenly find church and then stop trying? Corruption killed us, the military took away our rights, we had a flawed constitution force upon us. Religion simply became an available respite from all our troubles and not the cause of it. |
stillwater:imported rice started somewhere too. With all our arable land, we have no business importing rice and beans yet we import billions of naira worth every year. billions that can be ploughed back into our economy. - sorry i forgot we had no economy. |
4 Play:She gave you rope and u gladly hung urself . . . ![]() |
4 Play:You don waste your time. Tope2000 is already taken . . . find another Tope. Dem plenty for nigeria. I hear most of them are "God-fearing". |
In other words, you are saying there are no genuine rich people in Nigeria who worship God with true faith? I refuse to believe that!! Before we even go that lane. . . . . .Why are we poor in the first place when we have everything in abundance? A farmer goes to a piece of land, spreads his seeds and in 3 days. . . . .It would start germinating(God is the provider). Whereas, a farmer in Kiev knows the weather is too harsh to grow anything and they worked a way round it by making fertilisers but the farmer in Nigeria is so contented with his "free gift" thus doing nothing with it.
Of course we do have genuine rich people (and genuine poor people too) who serve God with sincerity and not for what they hope to obtain from him by force of prayer. The problem is they are too few. I have also wondered why we don't have hurricanes, no volcanoes, no typhoons and YET are still as backward . . . you can't blame the Nigerian farmer. In developed countries government provides numerous incentives in the form of subsidies, the Nigerian farmer has no way to access credit loans. Where are the import waivers for the poor farmer? How do you expect him to break even when he can't even get cheap fuel to run his farm commercially? Where is the market for his produce when we have cheap food flooding the market? The day Dangote started importing rice, the local rice industry in nigeria died a slow death. Its not God's fault, what are our legislators doing in that house of assemble besides constantly increasing their salaries?
Oil out of the various natural resources u can mention. . . . . Nigeria as a nation has oil, sunshine(throughout the year), countless rivers, trees, green vegetation and many more. America does not count. . . . .That land belong to the Red Indians and mostly Mexicans and they are not better than Nigeria. Look at the Amazon forest in Brazil. . . . .those natural resources cost a fortune but the people are suffering.
We can have all the resources in the world, if we can't harness them they are useless. We have so much oil and yet can't get just one refinery working . . . na wa o. The Mexican economy is 100x better than ours, the Red Indians used their gambling license to make Las Vegas one of the world's richest cities, Brazil is a second world country . . . what have we done with the little we have except to embezzle it? The people are "suffering" because they choose to. Isnt it a shame that Yar Adua is the first graduate president in a nation that has already produced a nobel laureate? We spend too much time talking of "zoning", "resource allocation" . . . and so little time talking about those things that would benefit the average nigerian. |
4 Play:Let me show you the Tope he was talking about - https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?action=profile;u=4811 |
tope2000:nna i have been busy making money for both of us . . . there is no love without money o. ![]() |

Jenny u no well ![]()
What about the so called Billionaires in Nigeria? Don't they have the same philosophy of always allowing God to do their tasks for them?? It's deeper than Nigerians needing money or favours from God. . . . .
Thanks to crushing weight of poverty in Nigeria, we have slowly evolved a culture that revolves around the church . . . our billionaires are simply part of the charade. The church is no longer a place for worship, it is a social club for the very poor who need some paliatives, the middle class who are more interested in looking for "business" opportunities and the rich who need the blessings of the "pastor" to bless the proceeds of unrighteousness.
I have realised nations blessed with natural resources are the worst economically. . . .because we are so used to rainfall, rivers, oil, trees and we wait around for God to do all other things.
Norway has way more oil than we do. America has more gas than we do . . . We wait around for God to do everything for us because we are too afraid to confront our leaders who brazenly steal our money. The typical Nigerian mindset is not one that is willing to change the status quo . . . |
Nimshi:Let Keith trying running for President. |
Strong pentecostal faith ma foot. . . . .U want to compare the way Nigerians worship God with the way Americans do?? Don't wear trousers to church, cover your hair, God will provide, I am AS, ma partner is AS but i know God won't gimme a kid with SS genotype. Please gimme a break. . . . .The way we attach everything to God is the reason Nigeria has failed as a nation. Obasanjo was interviewed some weeks back on the issue of NEPA. . . .He replied by saying. . . ".Only God can sanitise NEPA". ![]() In other words, God will come down from Heaven with his toolbox and wire and sanitise power supply in Nigeria. What a joke!!!!
We "worship" God not because we love to but because we need money. That is the basic difference between a naija christian and an American christian. When an American is worshipping its not because he desperately needs a visa, or needs healing (since he cant afford healthcare), or he wants NEPA to bring light for the champions league game . . . its because he genuinely wants to. America was indeed built on the foundations of a christian faith, the difference is they also realised that faith in God is a lot more than what you can swindle from Him. |
It is not surprising that nations without such beliefs are better economically than we Nigerians who wait for God to pay our NEPA bills.
more ill-informed stuff. America was built on the back of a strong pentecostal faith . . . they are still economically better than most nations of the world. Africa's problems have nothing to do with God, rather God has become just one more excuse for our inability to function rationally. |
tope2000:This is the forte of "God-fearing" women. Fearing God does not imply living a life centered primarily around the church. |
Even men want a God fearing woman so there's nothing new. Everyone wants marital security . . . you probably don't want to marry a woman you don't see eye to eye with on spiritual matters. That one is already a recipe for failure. |
there's nothing to this loss. Chelsea was bound to lose at home one day . . . I'd be more worried if this loss came next yr march. |
He has a bible, he can find it there. |

Women are indeed suffering |
I think Redknapp is going for the money. He's not going to be any better than Ramos. Ramos must be regreting ever leaving Sevilla. |
KarmaMod:I don give up on you since last century. Abeg i meant when i get married o. |
chika98:All of you are the same. You all pretend in the beginning. |
manmustwac:You people shld demand that money back! Darrenn Bent - 16 million pounds? Gareth Bale, Assou Ekoto, Aron Lennon, Pavlyunchenko, David Bentley . . . what a pile of pooh. |
chika98:I dont know which guys u're talking about but i'll speak for myself and those i know. We do not wish to hang out all the time but we wish to retain the rights to hang out when we feel inclined. We dont appreciate you now trying to dictate our every waking moment with ur favorite weapon of manipulation - tears and "you dont care". We dont want to talk to females on the phone . . . we however do not apprecite you thinking that our phone and address book are now crime scene exhibits. If you trusted us enough to marry us, trust us enough to be faithful to you. |
Danke:Ok lets hit the nail on the head - What is a woman's idea of "attention"? - YOU giving her your undivided 24hr non-stop attention. Its not affection when you expect us to ignore our friends just so you can sit with us all day. Its not attention when you feel its not allowed to talk to another female ever again. Its not affection when you feel you now have God-given rights to control our lives with your tears and nagging. When a man complains of "choking" him its probably because you're hanging around him so much he feels his world is closing in on him. Everything, even love, shld be in moderation. |
Danke:This dream dey sweet u abi? Morenike is already signed, sealed and delivered to moi.Pinkrosey:Who cares about emotions? Just give us access to the boobs. ![]() |
