For those who studied Engineering, please don't do HSE.. Really guys.. If u wanna be a safety engineer, fine, u can go through NISP and do standard safety courses.. Instead, do trainings on Engineering softwares (ASPEN HYSYS, PDMS, ASPEN FLARENET, FLARESIM, AUTOCAD, SOLID WORKS, PIPESIM, ECLIPSE, SMARTPLANT, ASPEN PLUS, CCNA, CCIE, Oracle, PI, PIPEPHASE, SAFE et al... )

Engineers are basically designers in this part of the country and you got 2 make urself relevant.

Am a Chemical Engineer by the way!.

Well, Shale Gas or not..the market for Gas is still active and progressing
N.B: some firms i know in the US still prefer naija gas than their *discovered* shale gas.
Asian market consumes gas like we consume garri over here. Look @ Japan, since they shut-down some of their nuclear reactors, gas has been one of their main stays, if not the major.

So, Olokola, Brass or not, NLNG is still functional and Train 7 is even about to come on stream!

Being an administrator is cool, but you will need some experience b4 dt part,I would say go for HR, (training and development section), well, depending on how large d firm is.. They do the fun stuff (training, organising and re-organising et al)

In as much as you have seen someone 2 help you, don't get DUPED!
For ur question, there are some department in any O&G firms that are nt Certificate choosey! I know someone that studied Biochemistry and he's working in Travels, also all the HSE peeps i know didn't study safety related course as their first degree.. Departments like Business Development, New Ventures also exist.. So, oil and gas coy is not only about Engineering!

ottty: Hey peeps,in the M.sc criteria section when ptdf says ' with oil and gas industry experience' can one's industrial training (I.T) experience stand it for that?

Otty, No.. I.T is not even seen as an experience in some sector.. Anything done after NYSC is deemed an experience in Naija

This recruitment is for Trainee operators for the Egina Field, currently being developed. The training would be done @ Opito Ogere based facility at Ogun state. Chevron peeps are the one there now..
Normally, the target is 100, and the minimum they take for OND is Upper Credit and HND/B.Eng is Upper credit/2.1, but from my little experience, B.Eng are nt selected for operators, but it might be different with this.
