Honestly I don’t know because I’m an aspiring applicant but France is not really my top choice anymore. Don’t want to spend my hard earned money to go to a place where I cannot work because of language. I did not come to this life to continue suffering on top my own sweat haha. Goodluck sha
On this, i previously wrote the below on another thread, so i am going to bring it here:

Studying in a developed country and an European superpower is definitely worth it. After your Masters, you get a 1 year stay (called Carte de séjour - Recherche d'emploi/création d'entreprise or APS for short) and getting a job mostly depends on what you studied, internship(s) you did during your studies, skills and
how well you know the language (some international firms don't put too much emphasis on the language but you need to have quality work experience from Nigeria to augument).

Once you get a full time offer (CDI) you can apply for a 4 year resident permit called Passeport Talent and towards the end of it, you can apply for permanent residency.

Also, if you get a temporary/contract offer (CDD), you can apply for a resident permit depending on how long your contract is.

the truth, but the transportation in Paris is horrible as compared to other European A Class cities like Berlin. I live in a suburb of Paris called Chelles.
Paris has one the best train networks in Western Europe.. the only problem is their grève (strike)

Almost all the Metros, Trams & RER are quite nice, except T1 (that desperately needs a change), RER D & E.

Trains in Berlin are cool and cleaner but they are smaller.

French are paranoid. Went out for a ride this evening - outskirts of Paris.

People are scared of even looking at you in the face.

People scared of corona.

Talks of macron extending beyong 15th April.
Chai.. beyond April 15 will be like end of April then.

Please be safe. Heard the Île-de-France region is one of the worst hit.

Hey Guys,

I didn't start this thread for this kind of bants going on. The aim is to foster relationships amongst ourselves and help each other out as best as we can.

Most of us have lived in various European countries over the years and know arguments like this is not worthwhile. Do what is best for you...that is all that matters.

How are y'all coping with the lockdown and living in this Covid-19 era?
Travel › Living In France / Life As A French Résident by davide470(op): 7:00pm On Apr 07, 2020
This thread is about Life in France for Immigrants/Expatriates and those that are based in the French Republic. (The idea was culled from the 'Living in the UK' thread)

It is an avenue for people that have migrated (with or without their families), those that got their work visa (Carte de Séjour/Passeport Talent) after their Master/PhD studies to share their experiences to help future applicants/students.

Kindly discuss and share your experiences & comments on:

* Récépissé & Police Préfecture wahala

* What are the immigration rules to follow?

* Which region/suburb did you settle in and why?

* Public Transportation in France

* Where you live and why you like it or don't like it?

*Renting Vs Mortgage (pitfalls to avoid when choosing mortgage)

* Childcare for kids below 5 (cost and how do you go about choosing a minder)

* Business Tips you can do

* What does the French Healthcare (Ameli) fully cover and do you really need a mutuelle?

* Tips on raising kids in a western environment as an African

* Nigerian restaurants and market in your location

Etc.

Let's make it lively!!

Are you the affected countries were not treating the symptoms or not wiping the virus out of their system.

Bro, the truth I don't still get it.
The picture below is a major factor to the number of death we are seeing all over the world.

The average age in Nigeria is between 17-19years, so we are young when compared to other countries with ageing population.

Also, the cases so far in Nigeria are majorly those with mild symptoms.

Politics › Re: Have You Received Any Money Or Relief Material From The Federal Government? by davide470(m): 2:53pm On Apr 03, 2020
Try and Google "Covid-19 recoveries around the world" then it will answer your question.

It is a virus, so you treat the symptoms associated with the virus and with that, you wipe off the virus from your system and create antibodies against those symptoms
horlarlorwor:
Apology to say these.

Nigeria, are you truly treating COVID-19 or you guys are Malaria?

News from affected countries have not treated any of their patient successfully. Is either they died or under critical condition.
Most affected countries still claims of NO VACCINE. How come Nigeria covid 19 patients who were positive were negative again under 7 days. Its seems something is not right.
Or will I say patient are diagnosed with 'positive' Malaria.

The likes of Abba Kyari, the real Carrier of the virus is yet to recover from it. Let these doctors treat Kyari same way other patient that tested negative after 7 days.

Please don't quote me wrong. I am not saying the virus is not in Nigeria but I think something is wrong somewhere.
If I may ask;
1) what VACCINE did our doctors use to treat the patient.
2) Let the government assist other affected countries with our doctors to show them the way out. Either by sending the doctors to their country or the drug they used to cure the virus.
3) Let the affected countries send in their doctors with 5 each patient to our country for treatment.

This will ascertain our doubting Thomas that the corona virus in Nigeria is truly defeated.

I was preparing to go enter London to for Passport/NIN waka, but yesterday the High Commission announced they're closing because of the wuhan virus.

Before the panic buying started, I already bought enough bottled water and tissue paper when I heard some Australians were doing it. I have been buying hand gel from amazon for years so I have enough.
Over the past week, it's been amazing to see how empty of tissue some stores have been. grin. Even kitchen rolls and all sorts of wet wipes are out of stock. I can't find pasta in shops. I managed to get a pack of baked beans recently. No handwash liquid soap.

Even some drugs are scarce. My friend near London drove to several pharmacies before he could find paracetamol.
Thankfully, I have stocked up on paracetamol, vitamin C, multivitamins, and hay fever pills.

I'm thankful I'm now driving and don't rely on public transport. Any day now, I'm expecting to be told to stay home and not come to the office.

And I believe the situation is going to get worse over the next 1-4 weeks. All I can do is prepare, wait, and hope.
Do you know that it is post like this that induces fear and panic buying among people?

The bolded is not true. UK visas have never been recognised for entry into the Schengen area and vice versa.

Secondly, if a Nigerian passport holder, the poster needs a Schengen "C" visa to enter France, not an "A" transit visa. We've answered this question a page or 2 previously.
From what i understood from her write-up, she is stopping over at France to transit to the UK.

Before Brexit, you can transit with a valid UK visa.

That's my point.

Good day everyone, I intend visiting France for few hours or rather a day. I have UK visa and travelling to UK soon with airfrance/klm flight. How can I get the visa without going through so much documents submission. Though I will be having a stop over at Paris for few hours. Please advise the best way to go about it.

Please respond to this.
If i understand you correctly, then the below applies:

Before Jan. 31 2020, you wouldn't have needed a visa since UK was an EU country but now, you need to apply for a transit visa.

You can read up Transit visa here:

Oke00700:
Could you please enlighten me about studying there? Is it worth it? In terms of getting a post graduate job & pursing residency after?

I’m looking to work part time jobs there to pay of my rent and expenses . I have money for tuition which is currently €3770 per year (Two years)

Is it easy to get a part time job without knowing how to speak french?

I’m already applying to enrol for a french programme here in Nigeria until I leave for studies.

I’m considering the U.K. and France but France because the tuition is cheaper.

Also what documents do I need for visa application?

Should I pay tuition fees before or after I arrive in France?

Can I use my brothers account with more than 10m?

I also have 2.8m in my account.

Also has anyone gotten a scholarship to study in France? How did you get it please

Please help

Thank you
Let me try and address your questions

1. Studying in a developed country and an European superpower is definitely worth it. After your Masters, you get a 1 year stay (called Carte de séjour - Recherche d'emploi/création d'entreprise or APS for short) and getting a job mostly depends on what you studied, skills and language (some international firms don't really care about the language but you need to have quality work experience from Nigeria). Once you a get a full time offer (CDI) you will be given a 4 year resident permit, afterwards you get a permanent residency (10 years permit)

2. You can get part-time English speaking jobs (Teaching, Babysitting, Tour Guides et al.. this site can help: https://job-in-france.babylangues.com/earn/job-description/)

3. Tuition in France is cheaper than the UK.. Yes, that is true.

4. On paying tuition fees; it depends on your school and the conditions to issue you an admission letter.

5. Yes, you can use your brother's account in addition to yours but it should come with a strong letter of support and commitment. On the documents needed, go through the thread.. it has been thoroughly dealt with.

6. On scholarships; PTDF & Total normally offer scholarships yearly to study in France. Also, there are scholarships offered by French Institutes (check this: https://www.campusfrance.org/en/bursaries-foreign-students)
