One month gone!

Is the training 24/7? Why are thy october peeps mute..

I think it runs from September to February, and March to August. The one month in between is used for aptitude test.. Its very competitive. I did mine in Total back then, and we were about 100 that wrote d test (precriteria of which, a Total staff must be a guarantor.. Na wa) and 40 were selectd..
Rememberd Chevron test then was full of Stock exchange questns and some wonderful english and maths.. Just try to submit this week if possible,and dnt believe the security guys if they tell u, they have stoppd taking IT's..

Studied Chemical (Process) Engineering.. In 3 - 5 months time, i will either be working with Total, Technip or Cons. Brewery.. Can someone shout AMEN!

Time is a factor grossly misunderstood by Nigerians!

IPS do Masters in petroleum engineering in association with an IWCF certification, and its basically for fresh engineers. Only partner staff with at least 5 years experience are accepted. You can google them up. Whether M.Sc or M.Eng, what matters is the course you are studying.

1. You heard of IPS rhyt, (Institute of Petroleum Studies).. Majority of their lecturers comes from Uniport, and they teach similar stuffs on M.Sc Petroleum Engineering.
2. As a result of IPS-UNIPORT partnership, you will get cool opportunity for internship and good career prospect.
3. FUTO is highly respected, no doubt, but for a M.Sc in any petroleum field, Uniport is the go to.

..except maybe,
1. U have a foreign degree (B.Sc or M.Sc)
2. You hv like 2 to 3 yrs working experience, then u are qualified for Entry level

I have written KPMG, Shell, Standard Chartered (didnt quite scale thru these), now am on Cons. breweries, Total Plc, P&G pursuit for now..
I work hard, read hard, teach hard(teachng maths, furthermaths and basic tech in my school) (side Job) and i believe God will reward me in due time..

jimmy74: I have been applying for GE jobs since 2008 without any call for interview until this year, precisely in may, I received a call for interview and so far have attended up to five stages of interviews so far (the last been 2 weeks ago) and the hiring process still ongoing. I have been told through a couple of my guys working there that it may take up to a year plus. However, I would like to state that,
1, Not all successful candidates have a foreign degrees, though, its easy to acquire a foreign degree after joining them.
2, It is true that, their hiring process is lengthy, not favorably to a jobless applicant as he may tend to give up on them.
3, The job itself is worth all the pains and struggles as the condition of service is superb.
Therefore, I would like to encourage all intending applicants to apply as you can never tell when your stars will shine.

Did u say since 2008? Dt means u must have gotten some cool work experience, and some other stuff..thats why u were called 4 interview (just saying)..for fresh dudes like us, same old, same old..

Ok, u have 2 go back and re-check everything. For the nysc, its No, leave d 2nd degree, check ur state of origin again, educatn and all..(i left out professional qualificatn in mine, which am nt happy with right nw).. By d way, am a batch A too.. Lol

Its time i clear d air on this.. I did my internship and pre-nysc with Total Upstream, at churchgate towers.. Total downstream is just way dwn d street (afribank str) and we do go tk lunch there sometimes. They decided 2 create a new website for their recruitment, as careers.total.com is majorly used by Upstream,bt can still be accessd by them. Some questns u must ask urself:
1. Have u seen any advert from Total Nigeria Plc in d last 2 yrs
2. How did they get ur mail in the first place? Only those who registered thru careers.total.com were sent d mail, and even at that, nt everyone receivd
3. What do u call a scam? A scam does nt require u 2 fill any details bout ur educational and professional qualificatns et al, they only give u a Job for a fee
4. Pls dnt discourage anyone from applying, if u dnt wanna apply, pls dnt.. It wuld be less competitive

Actually, when i applied, it was just tö fulfill all righteousness. And pls note, this is nt Total E & P. I believe trainee engineers for E & P would soon be out, after these operators have been settled.
