Coach Stephen Keshi has said that the Eagles were ready to play the best side of the lot and given their improvement in their last two games against Malawi and Burkina Faso and the return of Nations Cup top scorer winner, Emmanuel Emenike and Liverpool forward Victor Moses, the Nigerians look in good stead to actualise their World Cup ambitions.

Your death came to many of us as a big surprise but we accept it in good fate. This is definately a collosal loss to us in Ondo state. We have lost a rare gem in the sunshine state. You left us at a very delicate time when the politics of this nation needs brains like you to bring a working mechanism. No doubt, you will be fondly remembered by many of us for your laudable works right from when you were the deputy governor through your ministerial duty at the national level till when you temporarily faced lowly after serving as your party state chairman. Your works are enough to speak for you as you have touched many lifes during your unforgettable 5 years of being our state governor. Ondo state and Nigeria at large will definately miss you. RIP baba!!!
More importantly, i wish this serves as an eye opener to our to-be-dead politicians who are still living that a day like this too is coming for them. You will be remembered for what you have done either good or bad and even posterity who are not alive during your time will lucidly judge you and perhaps your generation based on what you have left behind as legacies and works. We all remember the likes of Awolowo, Azikiwe, Balewa for something today. What will you be remembered for after your death?? |
Politics › Mimiko Declares 7-Days Of Mourning For Agagu by Davo93(op): 8:34pm On Sep 15, 2013 |
Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo state has described the late former governor of the State, Dr Olusegun Agagu, as an early achiever who scaled dizzying heights in the academic, political and social circles in the country.
Speaking during a condolence visit to the Ikoyi home of the Agagus, Governor Mimiko said the late Dr Agagu "was a very brilliant man who possessed a remarkable ability for hard work which was evident as he gave his best to the state first, as Deputy Governor (in the old Ondo State) and later, as Governor." The governor who expressed shock on the death of the late Agagu said the departed's recent physical and political vigour "belied the possibility of this occurrence," and counseled all to take solace in the fact that the late Dr. Agagu,"was an early achiever who scaled dizzying heights in the academic, political and social circles in the country." https://citizensplatform.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Agagu21.jpg While praying for the repose of the soul of the departed, Mimiko assured the family of the love and prayers of the people and government of Ondo State at this period. He announced the readiness of the government to work with the family towards giving a befitting burial to the former Ondo governor. Mr Feyi Agagu, speaking on behalf of the family, thanked the governor and his team for the visit. He said he is consoled by the outpouring of grieve and words eulogizing his late father from across the country. The praise and eulogies, he said, are more than wealth and riches that may have been left behind for him and his siblings.
In the meantime, the Ondo State Government has declared a 7 day mourning in honour of the late former governor beginning from Monday 16th September. Governor Mimiko in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Eni Akinsola, ordered that condolence registers be opened at the Governors Office, Alagbaka, Akure, the State's liaison offices in Lagos and Abuja and the headquarters of the 18 local government areas of the State. The governor also called on indigenes and residents of Ondo State to remember the Agagu family in their prayers. On Governor Mimiko's entourage were the senator representing Ondo South at the National Assembly, Sen. Boluwaji Kunlere, Hon Joseph Akinlaja representing Ondo East and West federal constituency, Commissioners Yele Ogundipe, Nike Ademujimi and Remi Olatubora of finance, Commerce and Industry and Adult and Vocational Education ministries respectively. Honourables Jumoke Akindele and Soji Akinkurolire representing the two state constituencies of Okitipupa local government area, the departed former Governor's home local government area and other top government and Labour Party Chieftains were also on the entourage.

Marriage is supposed to be between people who genuinely want to be together and not because they want each other's money.
A charity could be set up for the underprivileged. #Seconded Deols |
