dasparrow: China a delightful place to study? hmmm, I don't believe you. I feel for this students because Chinese is a difficult language to learn with all that scribble scrabble in the way they write. In short, let me not saying anything.Nigeria didn't just start sending students to Russia, it has been an existing program even as far back as the '70s when Russia was still under the then USSR. And also let me correct you on something here, Russia is neither a second world country nor a developing nation rather a developed one. If we are to list the top ten stable economy in the world, am sure Russia will be near if not part of it. I agree with you on the fact that racism in Russia is just too much and disturbing. I have a lot of pals over there that when they tell me the hell they go through, i will like pity them especially the female ones. Nonetheless, racism is not only in Russia, its even there in Britain but the level differs. US & Canada seem to have a better atmosphere for the blacks. |
4bobo: waiting for (sincere) nigerian comments to tell us his own version.Did you even read the OP's post at all?? |

@My Boss Fynest, Here is a great thread and latest news 71 Students Leave For China, Russia On Scholarship https://www.nairaland.com/1445707/71-students-leave-china-russia#18227816 |
Hmmmm... at last! Congratulations to those selected and i wish them a very successful stay over there in their respective countries of study. I hope they prove to the whole world once again that Nigerians are not dull people but only been limited by the non-working atmosphere. By the way, i don't want to say this so as not to sound like a looser but i can't help it. Its quite unfortunate after spending about 50K on the application procedures and requirements for the 2013 BEA scholarship and several horrible experiences i had during the application period which i can't start narrating here, the ministry of education has made a lot of us that applied feel like something secretive goes on in selecting the lucky ones. Yes, we were told the selection will be done by the donor nations but i beg to disagree that it went that way. Imagine we wrote an exam around 27th March, no result was released, no response from Federal Scholarship Board even when you contact them, their website went down and surprisingly, we heard the Supervising minister seeing them off. I say, the selection process is just too cloudy! No fairness; No transparency whatsoever. My Oga at the top thing has been the order. Truly, everyone cannot be picked but why is the selection process not plain and conspicuous tovus all? I am sure a lot of Nairalanders that applied have more to say on this. Things like this make one feel like we have got no hope again in Nigeria but all thesame, i see a better Nigeria in the nearest future. Its high time we washed our system away from corruption that has eaten deep. I bless God, i am doing very fine where i am today but what of those young sharps that were disappointed same way and no breakthrough to an institution yet? May God help us all. Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!!! |
A total of 71 Nigerians are billed to travel to Russia and China to pursue undergraduate and post-graduate degrees under the 2013/2014 Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA). |
turawafett: You are partially right base on the angle you look at it but no one has it all. Learning in Nigeria educational environment has its own advantage ooo, while schooling abroad has its own advantage too, It's very easier for a child who did his primary education and high school education in Nigeria to adapt to system of education in anypart of the world than for those who school abroad to adapt to our educational system.Your right. Schooling in Nigeria is no problem but when we like say 'and forever', it scares! thats what am trying to indicate. |
Littlehooper: ALL RIGHT BRO.. GREAT IFEI respect your understanding dude #IrepObaAwonUnifasiti |
turawafett: No mind them, they rate Nigeria university low, yet our 2:2 graduate and third class graduate that went to UK and US. For their masters normally graduate with first class or upper credit. If we have d type of learning environment they have and the type of modern technology of teaching they have access to all student is Nigeria university will graduate with first class. My dear sister, your future is brighter than you think... See beyond Nigeria. |

GEJ has actually tried to an extent in the Aviation Sector... |

Littlehooper: U ARE NOT RIGHT MY GUY, OAU DOESN'T CLAIM BEST UNIVERSITY IN NIGERIA... OAU OUTPUT MAKES HER TO BEST UNIVERSITY IN NIGERIA..... Littlehooper: U ARE NOT RIGHT MY GUY, OAU DOESN'T CLAIM BEST UNIVERSITY IN NIGERIA... OAU OUTPUT MAKES HER TO BEST UNIVERSITY IN NIGERIA.....See my guy, nobody is argueing with you whether OAU is placed number one or not Do you even know the criteria for the ranking you are talking about? More importantly, is it what we are taught by the so called highly 'learned' lecturers that makes our output the best we have in Nigeria or the MUCH extra job we do on our own?? Let me tell you here, i know the secret of OAU high ranking but i can't be disclosing that here. Have you even asked yourself before why the like of Auchi Polytechnic is ranked ahead a nice school like FUTA? Is Auchi Poly really better than FUTA? Obviously NO! There is an untold secret behind it. Fellow GREATEST Ife student, we don't need to start washing our dirty linen in public. All of us are in OAU and we know whats up, except we keep deceiving ourselves. |
None oo... I rep GREAT Ife but the truth a lot of people don't know is that, OAU claims the best university in Naija but Students' welfare is the last of the school management's concern. So we don't even deserve the top spots in Africa let alone World #NoPrejudice |
Zona.com:Apologies Sir! I hate sounding that way but i just need to express what i think. |
Hmmm... i hate sounding the way i'm gonna sound now but its just the way i feel about the SE issue. Keshi needs to work more on what he has made most of us believe about him, the ethnic-sensitive behaviour he puts up. I still find it very difficult to believe some players have not been given a chance perhaps due to Keshi's love for a tribe. If we don't see Super Eagles as a National team, there will be problem in the future. I also cannot fathom why the likes of Dele Olorundara, Haruna Babalo, Gbolahan Salami ,the NPL highest goal scorers has not been given a chance in the SE team. I'm sorry from digressing from the topic a bit. #teamNationalist |
Olamira: Pls sir help me tell them that i've grown out of shape. I don't care if it's ASUU or f.g fault anymore. D shud just call it off abeg.lolsss ![]() ![]() |
Lilimax: Just wished that Human right Lawers will back this old man upHuman Right? Anyway, i doubt if they will want to be part of that kind of struggle considering the fact that ASUU too is fighting for what they term as agreement and their 'right' which i'm sure HR Groups might be in support too |
funny but great... hope something real comes forth |
Congrats ooo... Nigerians perform excellently in a condusive learning environment. |
berem: ....and what do you think is their reason for rejecting the vaccine? Do they have any genuine reason other than some Islamic clerics who brainwash them and tell them lies about the adverse effects of taking a vaccine. Seems you've not been following the news lately.Wa Gbayi jor... |
Sery777: GOD BLESS NIGERIAYou are now talking ![]() |
Fact! I expect some people to start drawing out a lot of criticism out from this simple and lucid statement. He also said both the public and private sectors were involved in corruption but stated that he would not give out their names “so that I won’t be attacked.” |
Expected tho... Its a nice development as it will afford Nigerians the opportunity to gather money together so as to get it. |
Nice development. Ondo should have been a cool location though considering their palm production capacity in Nigeria. |
Lols... Naija politics getting messier *pikin wey talk say hin mama no go sleep, hin sef no go shine eyes till daybreak* |
Onyegecha: Why? This is injustice. They should stop forcing people to accept vaccination especially when there is a strong indication that there's more than meets the eye with these 'free, by force' gifts.Chai! I am surprised people like you with this kind of reasoning still exist in our modern age. SMH |
