If someone kills another man, years ago, but the killer was not caught, cos no one saw him. Years later, evidence comes out that he actually committed the act, should he be forgiven since the has passed and the killer is now 'born again'?
Does this not mean people can commit crimes, and once they're not caught at that time they can go free? |

rmx: This life , once you don’t know , you will pay for it . Knowledge is power
The reason this thread is vital is for that purpose , the reason also some of us come to check ways to improve our build and reduce cost
for my build to be commissioned soon brought in all the Acs from china , same with most electrical fitting
Was given quotes for spot lights etc last month , took about 2 weeks for it to land from Dubai , all at less than half the price
Only bought one generator in Nigeria in the last 20 years and that only as a courtesy to my dads friend that was into generator sales , in that period must have bought close to 15 , some as big as 1375kva , the reason is obvious
I don’t begrudge anybody selling at incredible prices , responsibility lies on you to seek alternative , he get where we too dey hammer What's lacking is the knowledge about things, if not Nigerians would not be paying as much as we're paying for items. The 10 lights that I bought for $21 which a Nigerian advertising 1 of it for ₦10,000 is more than enough of things not right in our market. When we Nigerians stop buying expensive things and start importing, the sellers would be forced to drop their prices. |

kopell: I hope you all understand they are not shipping to you the same quality as the other parts of the world once they know the shipping destination, especially Nigeria. This is due to the failure of our agencies and regulators, it is our people that always request for substandard products to maximize their profit. From experience most of these giant manufactures in china don't even take less than 100 pieces in most of their orders, and if they do they charge you extra fee. Aliexpress are the one that deal with retail and their shipments could take forever, even their prices is not as cheap as Alibaba. Some of what you posted above is misinformation. Close (if not more) to 50% of world supplies come from China. They have standard and what most importers to Nigeria do is to tell manufacturers the standard they want. So if you see fake items from China, it's the standard requested that was produced There are some merchants on Alibaba that sell in small quantities. Yes AliExpress is the retail market, while Alibaba is for wholesalers. Hence, for building projects that you need items in Large items for, you can buy through Alibaba and for smaller quantities, you can use Ali Express. Also, AliExpress don't take forever to ship. One or two merchants can delay, but over 50% of them keep to time. In the last 5 years, I've had the opportunity of buying items myself from over 6 countries and I can tell you they have original items and less original. Truth be told, China is a blessing to Nigerians. When you go to Mushin or Orílè and people tell this door is from Turkey, it's a lie. It's from China, but the design is what they use in Turkey, hence they call is 'Turkey door' This Stainless steel handrail is from Turkey, in fact, they would write Turkey on it, but it's from China. Let's do a test using Lagos as case study. The major markets are: Lagos Island(Adeniji, Idumagbo, Jankara, oroyinyin) Orile Mushin Kétu Alaba 70% or more of the socket, Fan, Electric kettles, iron, lights, doors, cartridge for printers, etc are from China The remaining 30% from all other countries |

Here's my second advice.
I can see the total cost is about $69.
If you use Zenith Bank card, you'll be charged ₦420 to Dollar GTB and First Bank are about same rate
$69x₦420 = ₦29,000+
That comes to about ₦3000 per light.
It's still cheaper than what the person advertised on Jumia for ₦10,000 |

We buy on Ali Express or Alibaba and we instruct them to take to our shipping agents in China.
The shipping agent would then ship to Nigeria.
It's expensive to use known courier service |

diordaves: The difference is much but it may not be greed. It may be as a result of cost of sale. The seller is carrying a lot of cost you are not carrying.
From your figures, you got your dollar at N420. We are not sure how much the seller got his/her dollar.
Your price does not include shipping/clearing cost. The seller's sale price will include this.
Your price does not include warehousing cost. The seller will carry this cost.
Your price does not include the cost of sale on Jumai. The seller will carry this cost.
You will not carry logistics/delivery cost but the seller will probably carry some cost.
Your figures don't include overhead cost like internet (broadband) cost, energy cost, rent, staff/apprentice cost, inflation cost, etc. The seller will carry these costs.
And above all, your price does not include profit margin.
My brother, the cost of running a business in Nigeria is very high. The final sale price most times is as a result of the cost of doing business in Nigeria and may not be greed. All 10 lights weigh 2 kg. Let's assume the highest shipping cost per kg is ₦5,500(which is still high compared to what I pay), this gives us ₦11,000. Cost of 10 lights is ₦8,400 + Cost of shipping 10 lights to Ajao Estate Lagos is ₦11,000 + Transportation from my office to pick it up is ₦2000 Total: ₦2000+₦11,000+₦8400= ₦21,400 Let's add profit margin of 50% of cost = ₦17,200 Profit + Cost= selling price ₦17,200 + ₦21,400= ₦38,600 ₦38,600/10 items Each item should be ₦3,860. Let's just even increase everything, this takes us to ₦5,000 per unit. At ₦5,000 per unit he's making over 50% as profit. ₦10,000 per item is greed |

coldcandy: No amount for shipping+warehousing+transport+profit+etc can make a product price jump from 840 in Alibaba to 10,000 in jumia. This is clear stealing from the ignorant like me. Scam. We often attribute all forms of inflationary causes to the government, forgetting some Nigerians are greedy.
The first image is a well light advertised on Jumia at ₦10,000 each.
I bought 10 of this same light this week on Alibaba for ₦8400, that's ₦840 each
The second image is the evidence of my purchase, so it's not as if I'm making mouth with lies.

MrNipplesLover: Na where Bayern go put themselves in trouble be that, if them go on full massive attack. Dem need to play with brain cos PSG get Neymar and mbape if counter attack happen...
The easiest way for Bayern to disqualify PSG na if dem fit beat dem 2 to nil, and I doubt it that PSG won't have a goal on their own pitch...
I doubt it.
PSG fit even beat them for the 2nd leg.
Remember say their hitman Lewandowski no go play for the returning leg.
I pity Bayern. You guys on this forum need to learn a thing or two about away goals. If Bayen wins by 2 goals to nothing, they would not be qualifying. I am a Bayern Munich fan, but the way you put it is not how it works. Away goals is about the number of goals you scored at your opponent's home. Bayern need to score 3 or more goals in Paris and hope PSG doesn't equalized in order to make it to the semi final |
