Family › Re: How Would You Handle Your Brother Inlaw Who Is A Pathological Liar. by dawnomike(m): 6:58am On May 14 |
Naya261: My brother-in-law is a pastor with his own ministry. He’s been married to my younger sister for 14 years, but he’s a pathological liar who fabricates and exaggerates things effortlessly.
For example, if you eat at his house once or twice, he’ll claim he’s the reason you’re alive that without him, hunger would have killed you.
I stayed with them for 4 months in 2014 after youth service, learning a skill that should have taken 2 years. I left early because of his behavior and rented my own place by December 2014.
He now tells people he “rescued me from the village” when my father abandoned me, but I was 27 at the time, not a child that can be abandoned.
He claims the food I ate in his house for 4months (Aug–Dec 2014) was worth over ₦2 million. In reality, I ate once a day (dinner) because I left home at 7am and returned at 6pm except on Sundays, when I ate twice.
He says he no longer wants to be married to my sister, and my family has accepted his decision, but he’s slandering her: claiming she has sex video chats with men for money, has a boyfriend, and that she has even poisoned him once, causing him to pass out and come back to life, none of these allegations he can prove
My sister has been staying with me for over 3 months, but he's telling his church members that my sister is currently staying with another man.
Recently, he called my father asking for a meeting to reconcile, but I told my father the marriage must end. He keeps pleading for reconciliation.
I don’t know what he really wants from my sister. Let the reconciliation decision come from your Sister not you. If she's willing to go back, let her do so. For you, do all you can to cut the man off your life!!! Ignore him |

Crime › Re: From Contract Offer To Suspected Ritual Setup/kidnapping: My Experience In Ogun by dawnomike(m): 4:51pm On May 13 |
Onewazobia: Hmmmm, I am not surprised by this because I once had a similar experience in Atan, Ogun State. One of our staff members was contacted regarding a contract opportunity an international University. However, based on the project requirements presented to him, he knew he would not qualify for the bidding process, so he innocently informed them that he had a boss who could handle the job. They initially claimed to operate an international company that had just entered Nigeria and already established satellite campuses across the country. According to them, they wanted to begin construction work on their permanent site around Atan, Ogun State. They requested our CAC certificate, TIN number, directors’ details, IDs, evidence of previous jobs, and information about our manpower capability. The staff member who referred me later asked if he could forward my number to them since the date for interfacing with the school management was approaching. I agreed, not knowing I was walking into a serious mess. The whole conversation started on 13th December 2025. They contacted us almost every day, requesting one document or information after another. They obtained several company details, including ID cards, claiming they needed to conduct background checks before inviting any contractor. Unfortunately, I innocently sent everything they requested. However, I was not sending the documents directly to them because there was a third party involved, and I did not want it to appear as though I was bypassing him. Sadly, I failed to properly verify the authenticity of their claims. Hmmm… it is a long story. Throughout this period, I never personally spoke with them until 2nd February 2026, when they informed our staff member that there would be a physical meeting at the project site on 9th February 2026. That was when I asked him to forward their contact to me and also give them my number. The first thing I noticed was that their contact preferred chatting instead of calls. I then asked him about his position in the supposed university. He admitted he was not a staff member but a student who claimed to have a good relationship with one of the staff members. According to him, that was how he got the information and decided to contact our staff member to “give it a try.” Thank God the innocent boy did not go there himself because only God knows what could have happened to him. Fast forward to 5th February 2026, I contacted their representative to ask for the address and directions to the location. He told me to “come prepared and plan to sleep over.” Immediately, I asked him why I should sleep over. He replied that there would likely be a crowd and that documentation could take more than a day because it was an international university registration process for contractors. I told him clearly that I would return home the same day and come back if necessary. On Monday, 9th February 2026, I left my house around 5:00 a.m., to Atan. When I arrived in Atan, I tried calling him, but his number was not connecting. I then dropped a voice note on WhatsApp, after which he instructed me to take another bike to a different location. At that point, I became suspicious. After he described the location, the bike rider said he did not know anywhere like that around the area. That further strengthened my suspicion. He then started directing the bike rider from one street to another. However, by that point, I had already made up my mind to see the matter to the end. I was no longer interested in the contract itself; I simply wanted to uncover what was going on. Eventually, he instructed the bike rider to take me to an hospital. On getting there, I met a young boy, probably around 18 years old, wearing a jalabiya and holding a phone and a badly damaged power bank wrapped with plenty of sellotape. Immediately I got down from the bike, I asked if he was the one waiting for me. He answered yes and said he would take me to an Alfa. I asked, “An Alfa?” and he answered affirmatively. I immediately requested for his ID card as a staff member of the supposed university. That was when he started talking carelessly. I quickly held him by the waist and insisted that we must go to the police station. He refused. At that point, it was past 7:00 a.m. I deliberately raised my voice so that people in the community would come outside and witness what was happening. That was one of the reasons I refused to back down. People gradually started coming out of their houses. I seized his phone and refused to return it until we got to the police station. Later, some community members persuaded me to give him back the phone so he could call the others involved. They started arriving one after another. I still have videos and pictures from the incident. The community members questioned them thoroughly. As more men gathered around, it became obvious to everyone that their story was not genuine. However, because those boys lived in the area, many residents were afraid to confront them directly. Some people advised me to quietly leave the place, but I insisted that we must go to the police station. That was when some misguided youths in the community suddenly turned against me and even started beating me alongside the suspected kidnappers or ritualists — I honestly do not know which they were. Yet, I still managed to hold onto one of them. God truly gave me strength and courage that day. Eventually, their leader, who they called “Chancellor,” contacted a police officer whom I strongly suspected was connected to them. When the officer arrived, I requested his ID card, and he showed it to me. Even then, I still insisted on taking a separate bike because anybody could print a fake ID card. Luckily, someone in the community identified him as an actual police officer, so I reluctantly agreed to ride with him. Before leaving the street, I asked for the phone number of the community chairman, but they Till today, I still have the chats, pictures, videos, and other evidence from the incident. Thank goodness you got out of the ordeal alive and well... My business partner and I nearlt fell for such sometimes last year in the same ogun state when we were handling a SUBEB project in the state. |

SirL0neWolf: Apparently scorpion venom is a cash cow, and from my research a liter can go up to a million dollars or more.
In my new place of work there's a forest at the back and I was struck with the idea of collecting and keeping them.
I don't have the technology or the tools for extracting or even to identify the different species. Nor do I have the contacts international or local for the sale.
My best bet is to link with a research facility like Unilag or U.I or individual bodies funded with grants etc
Or even to store them efficiently and hope they won't die.
Any ideas on the most practical way to go about this? Here is a pics of the ones I have so far You realtor have quite a sizeable number... But, these are not yet enough as you can only get a little dose of venom secretion from a scorpion daily. Since you do not have the expertise, kindly venture into sales of live scorpions. Less risky for you |

Romance › Re: True Story: Claimed She Was Virgin, Rushed Engagement by dawnomike(m): 8:27pm On May 10 |
SQLmastar: Please house, I need mature advice. This matter is tearing me apart.
I met this lady (a doctor) 4 months ago. I'm 35, she is 31. She told me she was a virgin and I believed her because of how she carried herself. I was very happy and rushed everything – introduction, engagement, and marriage plans (I promised my mum that I would get married before December 2026). We were supposed to do our traditional marriage in one week’s time.
Last week, I received an anonymous WhatsApp message. The person sent pregnancy test results showing that my fiancée was pregnant for her ex-boyfriend during her 1-year residency. She had told me about this ex, but said they never had sex, and that was why they broke up. I confronted her with the message. At first, she denied it and said it was fake, someone trying to spoil her name. But when I said I would call her best friend to confirm, she broke down and confessed the truth. She admitted she got pregnant for the ex, aborted it immediately, and promised herself never to have premarital sex again. She said she was ashamed and didn’t want to lose me, so she lied about being a virgin. Now I’m confused and heartbroken. I love her but the lies are too much. On the other hand, I have already invited many people – including the chief of my village and my manager at work. Cancelling now will bring serious shame and talk in my village and workplace.
Please Nairalanders, what should I do? Should I go ahead with the marriage or cancel everything? Has anyone been in this kind of situation?
I need honest advice. Pleasw, cancel that wedding ceremony ASAP!!! It is better to face the supposed shame in peace now. You'll have no excuse in the future that you did not see the 'red flag'!!! |

Emma513: I have a debate in my heart of the one I will join so I was so confused I brought it to the for advice, I am a young and upcoming fashion designer, I lost health tips, politics little football, and agriculture if Infact I never fail my agriculture science as a subject,
I Don't too like force like that, but I want to join because of the status and to avoid being intimidated, I am avarage statue person, I normally got intimidated I don't like being in cult instead of me to being in cult I rather join force, I don't really like army because of war front because I not a rugged guy I am gentle
I will rather go for NDA to study and join as staff instead of direct soldier but I realize that I have past the age of being admitted to NDA (17- 22)
So decided to join DSS or efcc my question is how does it work,? how to join?, it's a good job, ? Can I combine the work with my fashion designing, it frustrating work , must I go to certain education to get a good grade in the job? And which educational section do the wanted most My brother, your motive for your desire to join the force is wrong. You may get frustrated along the line as time goes on. Focus on been a fashion designer and be good at it. There is nothing wrong in having a small stature, just ensure you develop yourself to a point where you can never be intimidated. |

BlackViper: Yesterday, I posted that I had lost my dad in a very sudden way.
He was an elderly man, but he was hale and hearty. He fell while he was climbing the stairs to go to bed at night and hit his head.
We called an ambulance, but even after they made us pay N100,000, they did not show up after an hour had passed. We were forced to drive to the hospital at 12.00 midnight where my beloved father was pronounced dead on arrival.
I've been comforting my mom and siblings all this while.
It was when I went to see his body at the Mortuary that I almost lost my composure because he looked so alive. There was a smile on his face and he looked so calm.
I'm praying for a miracle of resurrection.
I know that with God nothing is impossible.
I remember how in the Bible Paul prayed to God and resurrected a man who died after he fell from the first floor of a building.
I also know our Lord raised Lazarus from the dead after 3 days.
All I ask my fellow believers is to pray for the resurrection of my father as you go for Church service this morning.
I still believe in miracles and I believe it was not my father's time to depart from this world.
Please mods, be merciful and put this on the front page so as many people as possible can see it.
I'm hoping for a mighty testimony.
If it doesn't happen, I'm willing to accept that this is God’s Will, but I first want to appeal to God’s mercy and loving kindness before I accept His judgement.
Mynd44 Lalasticlala Nlfpmod So sorry about what happened... I really understand how you all are feeling. I felt that way the Sunday morning when I love my dad. We prayed he could just come back alive. I know it is always very hard to accept; but please, let him go. Take solace in knowing that he is now in a better place with the Lord. Away from all the toils and struggles of life. Be strong for you and your family now. It is well!!! |
