Permit me to quote these lines from "The Richest Man in Babylon". ..
"Fickle fate is a vicious goddess who brings no permanent good to anyone. On the contrary, she brings ruin to almost every man upon whom she showers unearned gold. She makes wanton spenders, who soon dissipate all they receive and are left beset by overwhelming appetites and desires they have not the ability to gratify".
This perfectly sums up their situation!

President buhari has created an enabling environment for corruption to grow.

Minimum wage 18k

fuel 145 (for car and gen)
electricity tariff on the rise.

The little integrity left of the masses will be thrown into the air. There Will be more corrupt civil servants than there was under Gej.

Hello bro, i am sorry for the late reply, i am just getting to read your message. Thank you very much for your words of encouragement, as simple as it is, it is part of what drives my business...thanks again

Concerning your question, i source my euro mostly from black market here in Germany which makes a somewhat better although the difference with that of parallel market is not so much, there is an assurance that we will get it within a range of price. As soon as you make your deposit, i convert the money to euro and proceed with the deal asap.

I will be happy to work with/for you...hoping to read from you soon
Thanks for the response lade007.
I'm a huge fan of the Skoda Octavia. I'm actually interested in the 2002-2003 model preferably a 2.0 (though a 1.8 will also do). I don't mind a manual transmission as they are cheaper, with A/C and not a very high mileage (less than 160k km) and petrol engine.
How much will It cost to put the keys in my hands, conservatively?
P.S. ..can you guarantee that the car won't be touched by "port rats", esp in Nigeria or while in transit?
Thanks for your anticipated response.

EasternLeopard:
How much does Nigeria makes from crude oil that will make it very possible for 30trillion to be stolen.
Remember that oil sold for about $100 per barrel for the greater part of the last administration's tenure. Multiply that by the 2 million barrels per day output, (one may have some headache in the process) and you'd be conjuring some huge sums. wink

Hello lade007, I'm quite impressed by the quality of cars you advertise here on nairaland. I've been a keen follower of your posts and these have stimulated my interest in recent times.
I'm a bit bothered about the cost of doing business presently as the Naira has received a bashing in recent times as regards the exchange rate. I'm assuming that I'll now need a lot more naira to transact.
Secondly, how do you guarantee that prospective buyers are protected from sudden eventualities while the transaction is on, once a price has been agreed upon on a deal as I'm a novice who knows nothing about shipping and clearing.
I'd appreciate a kind response to my request as I'm considering testing the waters.
Thank you.

Just imagine the trash this "dishonourable" honourable is spewing! ..you're championing the cause to discredit the present govt after its attempt to dislodge the massive heap of waste left behind after 16 years of PDP's guided misrule, within a year.
Is he assuming that the years of deprivation we were subjected to has left us without an intellect or that we are all gullible?
I admit that there are no quick fixes to the present quagmire and tough times lie ahead, but to try to parry the situation by uttering this insensitive statement is just the height of David Mark's cynism .

PoliticsRe: Arrest Buyers And Sellers Of Petrol In Jerry-cans - Arase by Day169: 6:27pm On Apr 26, 2016
I think the IGP has given a very myopic directive.
In the light of the prevailing fuel scarcity and untold hardship it has brought, the IGP is trying to ensure that the nation is left in darkness perpetually. This only increases criminal activities which are mainly under the cover of darkness. Consequently there'll be an increase in casualty figures suffered both by citizens and men of the police force.
Secondly I wonder how many people will have to take their generators along to the fuel station however large, and it's health implications.
Lastly, just imagine the multiplier effect on how the even more myopic men of the force will interpret this. ..food for the boys! Very soon, Policemen on stop and search operations will be looking out for jerrycans, be it filled or empty and then on to "partikola".
..I used to think that the top echelon of the police were made up of strategic thinkers.

SALARY OF NIGERIAN SENATORS.

After reading through this Special Report, any shred of doubt in the reader's mind that Nigeria is doomed and heading for a headlong, downward plummeting will simply dissipate. The details of the remuneration of an average Nigerian Senator is detailed below:

* Basic Salary (B.S) - N2,484,245.50
* Hardship Allowance (50% of B.S) - N1,242,122.70
* Constituency Allowance (200% of B.S) - N4,968,509.00
* Newspapers Allowance (50% of B.S) - N1,242,122.70
* Wardrobe Allowance (25% of B.S) - N621,061.37
* Recess Allowance (10% of B.S) - N248,424.55
* Accommodation (200% of B.S) - N4,968,509.00
* Utilities (30% of B.S) - N828,081.83
* Domestic Staff (70% of B.S) - N1,863,184.12
* Entertainment (30% of B.S) - N828,081.83
* Personal Assistants (25% of B.S) - N621,061.12

* EXCHANGE RATE: $1 = N162

LEGISLATORS PAY WORLDWIDE PER ANNUM
* Britain - $105,400.00
* United States - $174,000.00
* France - $85,900.00
* South Africa - $104,000.00
* Kenya - $74,500.00
* Saudi Arabia - $64,000.00
* Brazil - $157,600.00

* Spain - $43,900.00
* Norway - $138,000.00

In terms of lawmakers’ salaries as a ratio of GDP per capita, the gap is even much wider. While the salary of a Nigerian lawmaker is 116 times the country’s GDP per person, that of a British member of parliament is just 2.7 times.

The average salary of Nigerian worker based on the national minimum wage is N18,000.00, So, the yearly salary is N18,000.00 x 12 = N216,000.00 ($1,333.00)
Remember, Yearly Salary of Nigerian Senator = $2,183,685.00.
Proportion: $2,183,685.00/$1,333.00 = 1,638
It will take an average Nigerian worker 1,638 years to earn the yearly salary of a Nigerian Senator.

Legislators, both at d state & federal level are d problem of dis country. They only legislate into their pocket. Lets unite, mobilize & move against them begining with those thieves at the National Assembly. Pls read & send to all ur co ntacts
If you take a look at what senators in other African countries such as Ghana and South Africa earn, even at $1 to #150 or in good economic times, they could live in comfort.
If the figures for Nigerian senators are true, then their renumeration is just obscene.
