I quite agree with the OP's post but the big questions is. ..how do we change this ugly situation of "heads or tail we loose", when the nation's constitution does not allow for the emergence of independent candidates. Nigerians often have to make a choice of the less of two (or more) evils. The legislative arm of government who are enablers of the laws are the least prepared to effect a positive change since they are the greatest beneficiaries of this rotten situation. ![]() Sadly the military hasn't fared better. So we seem to be caught between a rock and a hard place. What's left is the opium of the masses. .. religion!!! (another veritable source of chaos) That's why 9ja "jagajaga" ![]() |

Hello Mr Governor, I think some applied wisdom would have helped in managing this situation, at least better than the unguarded statements that have become characteristic of governors when it comes to the issue of pensions and gratuities of retirees who put in decades of service to the Fatherland. These retirees are old enough to be parents to these politicians, but what do we see? They languish in abject poverty while these governors go away with annual pension benefits enough to feed all the retirees in the state. What a monumental shame & disgrace. They should remember "Karma". ..what goes around? .. |
sammedia:Not at all. Cows in Nigeria simply have "human rights"! |
Nothing!!! ..not everyone is a thief!!! |
..I recall the words of Jesus Christ. .."why not remove the log in your eye first of all then you will be able to see clearly the speck in your neighbour's eye". Can you imagine how much this lady along with her husband must have "creamed off" thus far? (Considering they served a first term when stealing was not corruption but a free for all).. Let him that is without sin be the first to cast a stone. .. What hypocrisy! ![]() |
The height of sarcasm! ![]() |
I know that nature abhors any state of dysequilibrum and that it can't go on for long. Similarly, revolutions are spontaneous, and not planned events. I believe that Nigeria is no exception. The French revolution, Russian revolution and more recently, the "Arab Spring" are reminders of this. What frightens me is the scale of bloodshed and despondency that usually follows. May God help us. |
OZAOEKPE:..the tragedy of a Nigerian youth. |
Nigeria! Good people, Great country. ..fantastically corrupt government functionaries! |
While the President seems to be in deep meditation, the Senate leader has evil on his mind and the Emir is full of mischief. ..a reflection of where our leaders today are focused. |
Haha! ..the money dey for "cloud"! (like data). |
..and you think the "sh*t" of paper shown as evidence by the poster is from the Federal government? ..people come on! |
..and to think that David Cameron misfired when he used the term "fantastically corrupt" to describe the Nigerian system. |
But civil servants too should learn to use their "grey matter" in spending the 'double salary' wisely. He must have paid the salary in good faith in order to prepare for the yuletide. Perhaps he may have plans to also pay an 'end of year' bonus. Here's wishing them (Cross Riverians) well. |

I'm sure the guy is weighing his options thoughtfully! These are surely the last days of the PDP in the south west. I bet that the doors of APC will be shut before him. But where else can he take refuge, and find solace? It might be best for him to remain in PDP where he still has some backing. As things stand, he has become the party leader in the south west. Moving to an obscure party only makes it easier for the Federal government to ferret him out of his burrow. The "Okete" of Ekiti is gradually being smoked. |
Well, she may have contributed her quota to nation building in her own little way. You are appreciated. Nigeria lives! |
..then I'm sorry to say, the North has little to offer this nation. ![]() |
But this defies common sense, simply put. How can a government that promised to relieve the burden of the masses come up with this draconian measure? ..abi dollar don affect ability to drive again? |
Just walk into any good book store, and pick up some good 'self help' books from the inspirational books session. Read and follow the ideas therein you're well on your way to writing your own success story. All the best from me. |
Fayose. ..Our "medieval" governor! |
FFK again! ..garbage out from the nation's biggest dustbin. |
The "Trump effect" is sweeping across our political terrain, where underdogs have become emboldened to take on the government in power. |
"Change"! ..the inevitable. |
I think that both Jimoh Ibrahim & FFK have shown a high level of political immaturity in the Ondo election. Their campaign seems even fiercer now that the election is over. ..just see the calibre of Nigerians that aspire to hold political office and lead us. What a Shame!!! |
People! We NEED to open our eyes and minds to understand the criterion used to arrive at the rankings. It's based on population figures. India & China are the largest population in the world by far and are not entirely developed. And so they easily translate to being the poorest. In a similar vein, Nigeria being the 7th most populous, further complicated by its low economic status in terms of GDP ranks very high too. In contrast, some other countries with a larger population than Nigeria have a higher GDP and thus a lesser population of poor people. Such countries as Brasil, USA, Japan, Russia and even Asian countries like Indonesia. So its just a tacit way to blacklist our dear country again. ![]() |

Birds of a feather! Come to think of it, he may have released his "dance video" as a harbinger of this award from his benefactor. ![]() |
