Certainly not Lagos, not even Abuja (not a state).
There is no state in Nigeria where non natives have been elected
into any political office. Lagos is worst offender in this case.
With non Yoruba percentage of Lagos population close to 40%,
the Lagos state national assembly delegation, the state house of
assembly, the local government chairmen and council members, all governor's
political appointees are all Yorubas. No state in the nation has its non
native population close to that of Lagos. Maybe accomodating has a new meaning.
Check out the Lagos roads in the areas heavily populated by non natives, the Fashola
miracle has yet to affect them.

dont mind him. I passed thru the university (Bsc, Msc and ongoing PhD) and I presently lecture in a polytechnic. Frankly, going by contents of academic curriculum, the polytechnics have richer content. I honestly can not find any equitable reason for the discrimination, other than the fact that the government made it so, both by policy formulation, interpretation and execution.
It is true that lots of poly lecturers are in their comfort zone hence they have no zeal to develop themselves via research cos they do not really need it beyond a certain level. This is also the fault of govt policy as mapped out in the polytechnics act.
But let the policy change. Let deserving polytechnics get converted to universities and u will see how these indolent lecturers will seat up and develop themselves once their comfort zone is threatened. They will kick against it at first, but once the govt resist intimidation and arm twisting , everyone will fall in line.

Not until after being in opposition for the past 16 years of PDP's rule.Recall how OBJ witheld the lagos state allocation for months and yet Lagos survived. How I wish many other states can be so independent from the Abuja monthly allawi. No doubt there is an advantage in being an alignment with central government.

true,those 16 years lagos was being dealt with by the PDP central government,some states were the golden states with so much pamparing, but have nothing to show for those attentions they got,yet lagos thrived . Guess it boils down largely on who is in charge.
