Ozils inability to mark overworked Schweinsteiger today. Schweini marking Xavi is hard enough a job not to talk of the trio of Alonso, Xavi and Iniesta while Ozil is not doing nada.

Bastian held his own, he simply did not have help. Khadera was half fit and Ozil simply refused to mark. When your team is not playing well you have to at least Mark. Germany also missed Muller.

Xavi is surely a technically better play than Bastian. But if I was a coach I will prefer Bastian over Xavi in my team. I am no fan of Xavi's pass pass pass and sometimes no end product.

Passing is very good if you are lucky to take the lead. But if you go behind. It simply becomes very useless when you waste all that time. Xavi is not my thing sometimes.

For this simple reason I also prefer Sneijder over Xavi.

Xavi is a midfield General. His passes and possession wears down the opposing team and he delivers pin point passes.

Schweinsteiger plays more defensively than Xavi, Schweinsteiger plays the equivalent of Alonso's role as a deep lying midfielder while Ozil tries to replicate Xavis role
