The movement of the ship would not have been necessary were it not for Israel's callous blockade of Gaza - oh, strategic thinking, that.
The blockade was necesary when Gazan militias were attcking Israel daily and the blockade has been proven to be effective given the reduction in such Terror attacks in Israel.

I thought Gaza is next to Egypt, Why not appeal to their Arabian brother Egypt to open their own side of the boirder to Gazans

Even if there were genuine security concerns don't you think it would have been a better strategy to have the commandos escort the ship on sea air and land and search it at destination since Israel is God around there? No, they had to violate international law by boarding it in international waters just to prove a point.
Which better strategy, The flotilla was warned before it took off, while at sea they told them to stop and be routed to Israel. Commandoes came in and next the peaceful activists started with chairs and iron bars. What better strategy do you want?

Do you want Israel to use remote control for the flotilla?

Resisting arrest? What right does Isreal have to arrest in international waters?
Suspicion of arming the terrorists in Gaza

Even if the activists had fought the commando's back with with Heckler and Koch smg's, they were;
1. in international waters and
2. headed for, NOT TO Israel, but to Gaza
have you considered the Israeli view that they might be going to supply arms to Gaza. So they need to be inspected and make sure no arms is transported

Why would Nigera attack a multi-national aid flotilla headed for Sao Tome and Principe with massive force, if not to display military might in a primitive way?
If Sao Tome is at war with Nigeria and we suspect the flottila is supplying arms to Sao Tome

@viewlekan,

I think you are going jelly, Maybe you need a Mossad drill. lol .

If they had nothing to hide why not submit yourself and your ship to be searched.

They release a statement saying they were 'so nice' to allow 15,000 ton of goods into Gaza.
have you asked what the Palestinians have allowed into Israel ever since aside terrorists?

Isreal boarded a ship with full force in international waters, the occupants have a right to protect their ship in my view.
Protect their ship from what? ARe they not unbiased umpires/activists? Why did they resist the Israelis soldiers if their sole aim was to give aid and food to the Palestinians

This is exactly what happened. I am still struggling to understand the danger posed to Israel by that ship.
The ship being used to transport arms to the Gaza strip given the fact that a militant Islamic group was one of the supporters of the mission

P.S Alhaji Muzb, I still await your aljaezera footage of the activists waving white flags because that could honestly take the issue to another dimension.
It can only be seen with a Palestinian tinted glasses I guess

You have no right to send your dogs running on the street barking to subject the visitor to a sniff.
If I am at war with my neighbour and I suspect you are going to arm him, i reserve the right to search you and any resistance would be treated accordingly

No, Isreal is guilty of acting impunitively heavy handedly, when a softer approach is available. They need to respect life and rights a bit more.
What softer approach was available pls? They warned them before hand, They sent commandoes on ship and from evidence and videos the activists attacked the commandoes first.

Rubbish. . . . .Your useless country did not even qualify for the tournament.
Your claim was the country is designed to fail in any competition. . . .You have been proved wrong.
Germany does not have anything to prove to anyone at European underaged tournaments. They did a clean sweep what no one in Europe has been able to do

Robert Green and Joe Hart are better than Lloris.
Those 2 jesters Green and Hart can not man the German U17 post. that Ziegler guy that was released by Man utd is farr better than the 2 of them soldered together

The only way Israel can ensure its security, is by finding an equitable solution to the Palestinian problem. It isn't by storming aid ships with commando's and shooting civilian volunteers dead; in fact I would say that the repercusions might be dire for all sides.

Are there real security concerns ob the Israeli side? Yes there are, but Israeli actions have started turning World opinions against them. Israel is beginning to look like a rogue state.
What is an equitable solution. Giving land back has failed as in the case of Gaza, even giving them independence has failed as Hamas violently assasinated all the Fatah leaders in Gaza now making Gaza a hotbed of terrorists
Foreign Affairs › Re: Israel Fires On Unarmed Aid Convoy. Many Dead! by dayokanu(m): 2:11pm On Jun 01, 2010
Isreal attacked and killed unarmed people in international waters that were not a direct, immediate and uncontrolable threat to them.
Unarmed people dont swing chairs and iron bars at armed people, They dont use stun grenades and throw them overboard.

Did you hear that one Israeli soldier was seriously wounded?

I think is time America should stop backing Isreal and lets see if they can win the Arab world in all out War,what is all these their Terrorist act all the time?
I really support you on this, but can we have the war without media coverage for like 4 weeks. No media showing Arabian side of the story and people being killed and let both sides count their losses after 4 weeks

a state of their own? these people are simply mad! america & europe convinced ariel sharon to give gaza back so as to facilitate the two states solution, sharon complied & gaza became qassam launcher bed,i'm sure d shock of his costly error sent sharon into coma, which he has not recovered from till date. Even if jerusalem is given to these people, the intifada continues. They've promised to push israel into the sea,
Thank you o. The concession Israel has given the Palestinians what has it resulted into.

Gave them Gaza. even forcefully ejected Israelis out of it but what good came out of it

Face reality, y'all have always been small

Theo Walcott dropped from the 23-man squad!!!

Capello is a fool, Why did he drop Wankott, He is inceasing Englands chances of winning, I hate this man.

Abeg Cap28 carry dey go complain about racism in the West, I am 100% in support
In this case we can say charity begins abroad

Strict immigration rules is not equal to discrimination- I dont know what happened in this circumstance but I would assume the ghanians did not meet immigration requirements. The Ghanians cannot just stay in Nigeria indefinitely lol
I would like to know your position on the Arizona law also to check if its consistent with this belief.

you can call it discrimination if you want but the fact is the north is educationally disadvantaged compared to the south, and the issue of catchment was designed to reduce this disparity. Not to mention nobody enjoys seeing people who could otherwise have been in school, rampaging all over the place.
Would you say they were disadvantaged in any way previously? Did Northern Nigerian people get kicked out of school because of their colour at any point in time or stopped from enrolling in schools for any reason?

Why slow down other parts just for one part to catch up

Add blackie monkie to the list
Are you done with the website I gave you?
You are lucky you did not go to mississppi. They would have fired your arse for being in the wrong neighborhood with the wrong color lo
Better still he was lucky not to be caught in kano, Jos or Maiduguri and you arse woulda been slashed and bbqued for having the same color but for speaking a different language or different religion.
did Ghana not kick out nigerians in the sixties, and arent they getting ready to do so again
Is that not black to black discrimination? then why are we so bothered about white to black when your fellow black men treat you as bad if not worse.

let us occasionally match theory with what actually obtains on ground
What obtains on ground is that when you are from a certain part of the country, you get an edge over others.

Does that sound like discrimination? It sure does sound like it for me

cap28,

Lets do some soul searching here.  Human tend to look suspicious at things different from them

If you are Nigerian from the Southern part how do you view the typical Hausaman? Dirty, stinking, illiterate etc despite the fact that we are all Nigerians, despite the fact that we are all black skinned, despite the fact that you know a lot of succesful Hausamen who are leaders in the country.

If we as Nigerians could view fellow Nigerians like that, How much more a foreigner/white person to Black.

How does the average Nigerian view the Togolese and Beninoise that come to Nigeria to seek greener pastures.

Remember a time where our Govt sent out all Ghanaians in operation Ghana must go. I am not sure any white country has carried out a clean out of foreign blacks like we did Ghanaians.

Even look at some posters on this board like Mekusxx, Dede1 and co. The way they talk about their fellow Southerners, even the way they talk about their fellow Igbo people (Ngwa) then you shouldnt be baffled by the random white guy who talks down on you if a black man can do that to a fellow black.

hmmm, well, i hope we ll both be alive when the revolution comes around. We ll see who ll be hiding under the skirts then. When the israelis will beg for mercy and it will be nowhere to be found,  We ll see,  there aint need having an argument, i can see u r not bn objective at all. I dnt ve arguments with such pple,  Lets wait and see though
Lol. Isnt it about time. Since 1967 they have been getting beat everytime

See objective people, Those who launch rockets from schools and hospitals and come back to complain about civilian casualties.

If Hamas cares so much about their civilians, they wont launch rockets from school areas. Unfortunately Israel is yet to design bullets and bombs that differentiate militants from civilians.

Let the worried Palestinians worry about and question the Hamas that uses their backyard to launch rockets.

i laugh at your comments, i just hope u wont keep urself ignorant, maybe u must ve invented a device that tow ships with chopper and that invention of urs kills pple on board 1st b4 guiding a boat with a chopper , lol,
Is it too difficult for you? Did they tow the other ships to shore? Of course they ordered the captain to steer the ship to shore.

im sure pple like u also supported isreal wen they used nuclear weapon in a civilian occupied area but is keen to disrupt iran nuclear activities, right?,
Of course people like you and your friends who lauch Qassam rockets from civilian areas, who lauch bombs from Schools but would later come to complain about the civilian casualties.

Are they not cowards who hide under the skirts of women to launch attacks, why not come out and fight like men.

get your act right, i wonder wat they ll do wen they ve to fight a war with the whole world cos sooner or later they will, im pretty sure of that,
Havent they done that several times? Fight the whole Arab nations and defeated them in 6 days

The Egyptian border is closed because, Egypt has diplomatic relations with Israel and is cooperating to keep the Palestinian population behind bars; they also want to avoid a refuge crisis. Perhaps, Egypt will now be pressured to open its borders.
Egypt has the right to avoid a refugee crisis but not Israel?

stop bn ridiculous, i guess u driving your car with a wheel spanner makes u harmed, come on, and what stunned grenades, u probably need to go watch the video on al-jazerra (thats the only neutral station on this issue).
Aljazeera a neutral? I laugh in Aljazeera grin grin grin grin grin.

If a police stops you and you club him with your wheel spanner then he too should look for a wheel spanner to club you with to make it proportionate right?

the pple on board the ship waved white flag, israelis commandos fires sporadically from a chopper into the unsuspecting passengers on the ship, israelis commandos starts to drop on ship from chopper, passengers pick up anything they can lay down thier hand on, rods, camp beds and so on to defend themselves from these murderers,  Anyways, what goes around always come around, i cant wait to see all these coming around to israel cos it will,  surely
If you say the people on the ship took anything they can lay their hands on to attack and what do you expect the Israelis forces to use? I bet they also used what they could lay their hands on to attack

Can you post the video on Aljazeera you saw?
Foreign Affairs › Re: Israel Fires On Unarmed Aid Convoy. Many Dead! by dayokanu(m): 4:48am On Jun 01, 2010
1st, so israel issuing warning gives them an outright license to fire at unarmed civilians that were 55km from the so called blockage of theirs,
Unharmed is what you call metal rods, chairs and stun grenades, then what is armed? Nuclear bomb?

2nd, israel says they wanted to sail the ship to the bank, for God's sakes, i ve never heard where ships are bn sailed through commandos dropping on it (where is the feasibility)
So how were the ship supposed to be routed to the Israeli port to be checked? Use of remote control or what?
Foreign Affairs › Re: Israel Fires On Unarmed Aid Convoy. Many Dead! by dayokanu(m): 4:39am On Jun 01, 2010
There are rules of engagement in armed conflict; response must be proportionate.
For it to be proportionate, the IDF too should have taken stick and chairs to fight the pissfull diplomats right?

One thing I can't get over is why is no one asking Egypt to open it's borders with Gaza. Afterall, Israel is not the only one that shares a border with Gaza.
Noo How dare you ask such questions, Only Israel must open the border, Egypt shouldnt. If Gaza is under a siege, then mount pressure on Egypt to open his own side of the border, at least they share same religion and ideology
Foreign Affairs › Re: Israel Fires On Unarmed Aid Convoy. Many Dead! by dayokanu(m): 2:33am On Jun 01, 2010
Israel has the right to defend her territories and citizens against external aggression from the neighbours in form of Suicide Bombers, Qassam rockets and even stones.

When rockets are being launched at Israel we would all sit in the comfort of our homes and blow big grammars when the people on the street of TelAviv, Beersheba and Haifa are being blown to pieces
