Jarus: Most schooled, yes. She maintained a low profile, continued with her professional calling, not so active as First Lady. I wont count her.
What is a first lady supposed to do per the constitution?

She is supposed to support her husband and go about her own thing.

Justice Fati knew the Law and was not illiterate like the other barely educated "soyoyo" first ladies. Who would even usurp the role of Presidency if given the chance.

Justice Fati went about her job daily while Maryam babangida, Maryam Abacha, Stella and patience abandoned their job and turned Gele tying all over the country into full time jobs.

How many people here even know James Camerons wife

Ujujoan: Thank you Jenny!

I think Dayo has a phobia for spending money. It kind of makes his thoughts one-tracked when it comes to financial responsibilites of a husband. I pity e wife . . . she's in for a BIG fight! grin grin
Thats why I am choosing my wife properly. I would only marry someone who works and earn money.

Not someone who believes her husband is a meal ticket. As for house work We would share it and I might employ a domestic staff if the houseowrk get overwhelming.

My mom worked and Just retired in July. For a large part of her working years she did not have a car, washing machine, vacuum cleaner, dish washer etc. And both parents contributed to the upkeep of the family

Ujujoan: I think you are missing the point here completely. The poster mandated his wife NOT to work so he can further his career . . . while she stay home and takes care of their kids! If that is NOT slavery then I wonder what is.

The kids are theirs isn't it. Why cant they meet each other half way huh If he has to work half the time and then return home to be with the kids (since he doesn't want to pay for a sitter), and then let her do her own ?ob, will she ask him for money to send to her mom?

Marriage is supposed to be a partnership not a master/slave r/ship.

I'm sure his wife has no qualms making her own money and supportring her mother. If however he refuses to let her work, he should be ready to take up some financial responsibilities on her behalf!

Take me for example, my mum's a widow and a pensioner and each and every one of us (her kids) contribute something for her upkeep on a monthly basis.

So if my husband decides (for some reason) that I need to stop working and be a stay at home mom, and I (for some reason) accept, isn't it proper that he steps up and contributes my part of my mum's upkeep huh

Does that make me and my family a leech huh
My post you quoted was not to the OP but to Ileobatojo.

My response to the OP is

dayokanu: Let your wife go and get a job and the money for daycare should be contributed by both.

When both of you contribute to the upkeep of the family after the family is done whatever she has left from her own salary she can send to her mom

Simple.

Thats a lesson for those who believe in importing wives from Village. who would turn to financial burden later on

that goes a long way to tell how well u know nigeria . Igbos are 99,9% christians hence we take our christian name first aka baptismal name as christians . Though that idea is fast dwindling amonnst young igbo generation as we tends to identify with our root now than before because as am igbo u gona be pround . All my kids names are igbo names .Being all most 100% christians is one the reasons why igbos are hated in nigeria by mostly northern moslems and more by yoruba moslems.
Kayode fayemi is a Christian, Chibuike Amaechi is a xtian, Rotimi Akeredolu is a xtian, Olusegun Obasanjo is a Xtian, Where in Christianity does it mandate you to use oyinbo names?

Na Igbos reject their own names Inferiority complex no go kill una.

No current Igbo Governor could use his native name

WHAT A SHAME. Even Igbos are ashamed of their own names

Note Ojukwu senoir was the richest african then. He was the real igbo man . The only mistake he made was that he trusted the yorubas and he was betrayed and that was the message to the new igbo generation. never to trust a yoruba man . You can be a friend to yoruba man but dont trust him
You can adore anyone you want. I am sure some people adore idi Amin till today

But that cant change history that he was a bloody coward who fled warfront

What inferiority complex ? The last people that suffers inferiority in nig context are the igbos . Why re u trying to marry a supperior igbo girl ? Are there no more yoruba girls? Inferior in what aspect ?is it in business, is it in education, is it in looks, is it in bravely, industrous , igbo sense , riches, sophistication ,name them, currently politically igbos are better of hence the reason yorubas crying of marginalisation under GEJ. Igbos walk with their shoulders up in nigeria because we have done unimaginable with 20 pounds and we continue to march on and no body will stop.
Inferiority complex is what worries Ibos. Everything in life they must compare themselves to Yorubas.

Ibos are always ashamed of the native religion, language and culture.

Thats why All their governors bear SULLIVAN Chime, ROCHAS Okorocha, THEODORE Orji, PETER Obi and MARTIN Elechi. If a yoruba Governor has a foreign name he would hide it in the middle. BABATUNDE fashola, ABIOLA Ajimobi, IBIKUNLE Amosun, KAYODE Fayemi, Olusegun Mimiko. Only Aregbesola uses a foreign name. Imagine its even the Rivers governor an Ikwerre man thats proud to use CHIBUIKE. All the Igbo State governors are ashamed of their names. What Inferiority complex can be more than that

ALEX Ekwueme compared to OLUSEGUN Obasanjo.

Anywhere Ibos go they deny their native religion How come Amadioha isnt known anywhere but Sango, Obatala and all Yoruba gods are known globally even in far away Brazil.

Even Wedding nowadays they are copying Yorubas, Tell me whats the meaning of AsoEbi in Igbo language?

Clothing? Igbo man would tie wrapper like someone suffering from chronic Hernia

Check out a Yoruba man flying his traditional attire

Note that igbos are not cowards like you people and besides, this is one nigeria!!!! for which many nigerians lost their lives . As per the kidnapping , yorubas are the insiders in the kidnap . They recruited the brave igbos to do the job . The real story will eventually come out . Ok what about 2 yourbas that were involved in Alu atrocity lawal and segun . Who invented 419 , drug trafficking and oluwale thing ( fake passport , fake documents etc ) Are they not yorubas based in lagos?
Igbos are not cowards yet the Igbo warlord fled battle

This was what Effiong said about him

read what a real warlord, Effiong had to say about Ojuku

When Biafra's military resistance collapsed, Ojukwu fled to Côte d'Ivoire.

Efiong assumed leadership in this situation of turmoil, starvation, and collapse. He became Head of State of Biafra on 8 January 1970 and on 12 January announced surrender.[1]

At the time of the surrender, Efiong believed that the situation was hopeless and that prolonging the conflict would have led only to the further destruction and starvation of the people of Biafra. At that time Effiong said, "I am convinced now that a stop must be put to the bloodshed which is going on as a result of the war. I am also convinced that the suffering of our people must be brought to an immediate end."[1]

Nnaemeka L. Aneke wrote, "General Efiong’s handling of Biafra’s surrender is one of the most tactical and devoted maneuvers ever seen on the Nigerian scene. Those who do not appreciate the depth of it may not have appreciated what was at stake as Biafra capitulated."[2] Many observers had expected wholesale retribution at war's end.
[edit]

Later life

In a 1996 interview, Efiong reflected on those events:

I have no regrets whatsoever of my involvement in Biafra or the role I played. The war deprived me of my property, dignity, my name. Yet, I saved so many souls on both sides and by this, I mean Biafra and Nigeria. . . .

I felt that I played a role which has kept this country united till today. . . .

At the end of it all when I saw they (Biafran soldiers) could no longer continue and Ojukwu had fled, I did what was ideal after wide consultation . . . [2]

Efiong died 6 November 2003, at the age of 78 less than two weeks before his 79th birthday.
The b1nch fled the war front and left the populace to die

What a shame to war generals.

God bless Effiong a true general who waited not the biatch who fled

icon aus: Enough of this yoruba claiming of being accomodative . If not for lagos , igbos would not have migrated to the west in good number . Have you people forgotten that Lagos was the capital of nigeria for yrs hence the migration of many nationalities to lagos including igbos being migratory in nature . To say the truth , the igbos are more in north than the west .The north are more easy to deal with and the most honest tribe in Nigeria to work with or do business with if not because of their religion ( Islam) which tends to mislead them some times . Igbos are in the west because of Lagos which happened to be the capital of Nigeria. Other tribes tends to avoid residing in the east because they cannot compete with igbos in business and other human endeavour . Not in terms hostility . igbos are not hostile to their visitors .They accomodate other tribes in the east . They dont attack them as long you stay and do your business. Even despite immense provocation by the northerners against the igbos residing in the North , igbos still keep calm and wouldnt reteirate in the east . The bottom line is that other nationalities esp yorubas are scared of coming down to east to invest because of cowardice .
If your land is accomodating why are you rushing elsewhere. Why not just stay in your land. Abi the place dey chase you ni?

How would you leave a "Developed" iboland and go to live and die in an "Undeveloped" Yorubaland

If I as the man pick all the bill in the house then what is the womans stake in the house?

How is she better than a piece of furniture that just occupy space?

If he pick all the bills then he has a right to do as he want in the house without being questioned. Just like the chairs and table cant question the owner.

If he come into the house even with lipstick stains all over his body and you ask him, He would simply reply, Its those lipsticks on his shirt that feed house and clothe your lazy arse since you contribute nada to it.

Even contributing to your own childrens school fees, upkeep etc.

I can never have anything to do with any woman with such mentality
