I am sure they would find a way of blaming Awolowo for this

If you dig deep you would find out that they are even from Anambra state

Demdem: Is it a must that the Eze of NL must be a Ojukwu worshiper? That to me is sttupid if true huh huh such should have a mind of his own.
On this forum and anywhere, I have spoken against Awolowo whom many Yorubas rever, But that would never make me less Yoruba than the next person

Ujujoan: I agree with you. Realistically, men need financial support from their wives. But I want it to be understood that it's a 'support', not a responsibility!
Realistically no adult has a responsibility to feed another able bodied adult. We can only "support".

Even when there are cases of divorce. The court mandates that the children who are mostly minor be taken care of as a priority and not the individual adults in the relationship.
except when its joint income made from joint contribution

sexywifey: undecided@poster, dude, please read your Bible. You will understand that it is your duty to fund your home 100% (failure to do so makes you worse than an slowpoke). Your wife may contribute if she wants to, but it is not mandatory for her to! What is 70:30 sef? Is that how you share her own house chores in that manner? Abeg, grow some muscles and provide for your family irrespective of whether your wife ontributes to it or not.
Below is what the bible says. Proverbs 31.

Proverbs 31:10-31
King James Version (KJV)

10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.

19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.

23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates

Ujujoan: It's funny how you think a woman's 'stake' can ONLY be fnancial in nature . . .
And how did you deduce the "only" part. In a family both parties should be involved in verything from childrearing, to homekeeping to budgetting/finances, to everything
gender equality means there are no restrictions to the role of a man or a woman in society, everyone is treated equally. it is not so that a woman can behave anyhow, but to award her with equal opportunities men have. common sense will tell you that if she doesnt work she cant get income and if she cant get income she will not be able to assist her parents financially. so if u decide to be a smartass about it and make her a house wife u better know that the burden of helping her family financially will rest on u, if there is any need to do so. its brainless men who run away from their responsiblities and blame their inadequacy on external things. if you know you will not to be able to take care of ur family, ur parents and her parents, its best you let her work so that she can do it her damn self!!! this does not require einstein to figure it out, its common sense!
My response to the OP is shown below

dayokanu: Let your wife go and get a job and the money for daycare should be contributed by both.

When both of you contribute to the upkeep of the family after the family is done whatever she has left from her own salary she can send to her mom

Simple.

Thats a lesson for those who believe in importing wives from Village. who would turn to financial burden later on
And where did you get the impression I want to make my wife a housewife when I openly said it I would never marry a housewife? Or you just coin out questions in your head and provide answers to them?

What common sense should tell anyone is that both husband and wife are equal partners in a marriage and I would never denigrate my wife not to talk anyhow, do anyhow. She is my wife and not my slave. She has the right to do anyhow.

Even if I make more money and contribute more to the household doesnt take away her right to do anyhow. Unlike you who believes A man should use his financial power to stifle his wife at home. To each his own
no matter how much a wife earns, the role of a husband is to be a protector and provider for his family, once u decide to involve the woman on what is ur role is, do not open your mouth and talk nonsense when she starts behaving like the other man of the house, because u practically gave her the right to do so. know that when you place some of ur duties as a man on her, dont expect her to be submissive.
Actually my own wife is supposed to have equal right as I have in the house. I intend to marry a WIFE and not a SLAVE.

So she can behave anyhow in the house, She would have the same right as I have in the house.

Isnt it a pity that even some women believe they have lesser rights in their marital home. Contributing to a family you call yours is now a reason to declare ALUTA?

May God save us from leeches o

ebere1712: Poster keep taunting Igbos with the death of their loved ones. People that fought gallantly to defend themselves and their pride from the pinks and their slaves and allies. They died heroes. Heroes sometimes loose a battle, but they always win the war. It is not over yet tongue

Onlytruth: From the very first day we (I and my council members) came into office, some of the currently nominated members (whose names I will not mention, but they know themselves) basically went underground and rejected or absconded from roles assigned to them. Some never even accorded us any recognition; though they never openly stated so, it was easy to decipher from their comments that they were rebelling to the leadership. Some accepted to be council members, but skipped town also immediately afterwards.
Onlytruth, Why cant you just be a man and call out Andre Uweh instead of skirting around like a biatch that you are.

Everyone knows Andre Uweh is a coward he probably got it from his time studying in UI and unfit to lead Umuyibo

As useless as Onlytruth is he, as far as I know goes by only one username, Unlike Andre who goes by abadaba, Ngodigha, and lately started claiming he is Yoruba "Tomakint" what could be more disgusting? A contester for the topmost Igbo position on NL wishing inside that he was Yoruba.

You should all reject anyone who is ashamed of Igbo so much that he has multiple username and claims to be Yoruba
Hahahahaha you where not saying this after the Irish got slaughtered oh! The only thing I fault Loew for is not introducing some grit into this German team! Maybe its time Die Mannschaft go back to being Die Mannschaft of old. Loew has been excellent just been a tad unlucky not to have won any major international title
With the talent we have in the German team we can definitely win a lot of games by wide margins.

Not many teams would have Reus, muller, Ozil, Schweini, Khedira, kroos, Gotze all at once

But when it comes to winning the championship Loew looks like one that would always falter.

in 2014 we would play sexy football we would beat one of the pretenders (England, Holland,) type teams convincingly, We would be tipped as favourites meet Italy or Spain in the Quarter or semi and lose another one
