@cherechy,

First thing I noticed is that your sister couldn't afford to stay home. Like I mentioned, that is one of the key issues. The decision to stay home is a heavily financial one, thorough reasoning is required. That doesn't automatically make it a bad choice though.

A woman I know, working or staying home, details each kobo she spends for her hubby to review and the only thing she buys without her husband present are things she buys at the market. All else, he's present and he decides.  It looks odd, but If it works for them, what is anyone's business? Now, this is a highly educated female.

To address the concern about the man dying - Even in Naija today, life insurance policies are available if you don't have a sufficient financial cushion. Funny thing, though - for most Lagos women, the money they make goes back into buying clothing and shopping for things they really can't afford so it's not as if they have amassed savings or assets with their jobs that can take them out of the house for more than 12 hours a day. Which is why when a man dies, most women still struggle. For those that live abroad, a life policy for each partner makes sense, subject to my WHAT KIND OF PERSON ARE YOU MARRIED TO assertion (murder for insurance payout?)
Dont you think its demeaning to have to explain that you spent 100 Naira on sanitary pad, razor blades and even Nasco biscuit when you were hungry.

There is no way death wont affect any one. Because its 2 incomes that became 1. But with housewives, The income might become Zero.

What does AVB has against Lukaku.

Personally I would play him ahead of Drogba.

Having one of the most sought after youngsters in Europe and gluing him to the bench permanently

Good tackle by Lampard to release Sturridge but he is selfish as usual and Bogdan saves
There is a common misconception that God takes what he has given! It's not factual! God doesnt delight in people suffering. He wants everyone to repent, he makes the sun shine on the good and bad and the rain also. There is a difference btw causing an event and allowing an event to happen. . . If God allows an event to occur, did he cause it? In the case of Job, the devil raised an issue concerning on Integrity. He said that Job will lose his integrity in God if those things were taken from him. He went on further to claim that he can successfully turn all men away from God by removing God's blessing from them. The resulting casualties on Job on the eventual sickness brought upon him, were from the devil. It was all in a bid to make Job lose his integrity. Mind you, Job did not know the source of his afflictions. But he maintained that integrity to God!

Satan is a LIAR and will remain a LIAR until he is destroyed forever. He is the master deceiver, he makes bad look good. He keeps deceiving people till date. He makes people think God takes. . . It's part of his deception. wink The Lord ALLOWS, Not TAKETH!

there are several instances in the bible where it was reported God killed So isnt that a case of God taketh?

twenty one years of marriage three old kids and sixteen years as a career woman and i have dis to say. kids these days get bad mouth. one day they will ask you to stay away from their school since you lack a label. mum is not a nurse or doctor or banker or anything worth writing in that essay on my dear mother. there is a certain type of shine that rests on you by the act of dressing up every day for work. men notice fast when it is no longer there . life throws up all sorts. talk with him again
Word. The kids might not be too proud to tell their friends that my mom is a housewife When their friends are saying my mom is a lawyer, Accountant, doctor Engineer.

It would almost be like saying my mom is an illiterate.

OP Tell him you want to test it out and if its affecting the kid, you would quit in 3 months immediately, gradually he would get used to it.

Also get a maid for housework so you can have time for the baby solely.

And God forbids

What happens if the man should lose his job or even worse.

I know several families where the man lost his job and they had to survive on the wives income for many yrs before they were able to stand again

Also in case of death you dont want to be left stranded with 3 kids who are used to the good things of life

it beats me. . . . .
i go to the store knowing the colour, size and the brand of what i want. i see what i want, i pay and i storm out.
why can't women follow this simple procedure?

they would first look for which shop is offering which discount or that voucher. . .
then they would start trying out different clothes. i dunno if this is indecision or simple greed.
argghhhhhhhhhhhh - it's pure torture.
I dont know o.

One time some years back I was moving into an apartment and she came. I made a mistake to offer to drive her there.

She went to IKEA and spent good 4-5 hours there!!!!.  shocked

You know those Ikea where they already set up the rooms living room, bedroom  etc She was going through everyone. After 4hrs we almost got into a fight when the sales girl told us that maybe we should check another setup and I yelled NO. She was like isnt she doing it for me, Isnt it my aparment bla bla, I was like If its left to me I would buy one 3seater sofa on craiglist, one TV stand and shikena.

After IKEA she now said Home depot or Walmart I just told her to let me go home and she can take the car keys and do the rest

Some people love it, especially women, Some even says it has a therapeutic effect

Its called "retail therapy" in some circle.

Some ladies would even ask you if you want to buy anything so they can go and shop on your behalf

If she waits till the child is 3, then another child would be on the way, wait till that one also is 3 then another

So she wont work for like 7-8yrs when all her qualifications would be useless

OP, Human beings are fickle, even if he genuinely cares for you today, what gives you the assurance he would be same way in 7years time when you wont be able to return to any career again

Its too risky abeg

Pls in your own interest dont agree unless you can follow ileobatojos advice.

Get a lawyer, tell him to pay you a monthly salary compared to what you would be earning at the consulting firm
