The catholic church knows billions of secrets which thjey don't let out to the public and likewise so do the islamic leaders i bet. but if there is some relation we'll never know and if scientists and experts continue it could spark violence towards them from both the catholic church and islamic leaders. Some experts claim they have solid prove but this is a pick and choose issue just like the Da Vinci code, which of course i chose not to believe.

My analysis is not based on the strength of Germany and Argentina but the world cup system and how they were drawn. Brazil will play czech rep in the second round. And England wil make it to the semis but no further

The devil is using me cool. But hey this things come up. I don't think it would be stated in the koran. And muslim leaders wouldn't talk about it even if they knew anything to keep islam away from christianity but scientists don't take sides so that's simply their proof.

Before I say anytning further if this turns into some violent thing like the beauty pagent thing in 02 or the mohammad cartoons, I don care it's not meant to peace.

Jesus was a descendant of King david
And guess what I just learnt on Nat Geo that so is Mohammad.
Jesus founded a major religion and so did mohammad
the david blood line were born to be leaders. Maybe christians and Muslims should be more kind towards each other. sure we have our different rules but the two religions have a lot of similarities.
Does anyone know any more similarities?. I'm trying to get somewhere here

Silverbird isn't the only cinema in Nigeria and this should answer your question

'It’s wrong to think that Silverbird Cinema is all about foreign movies'
Saturday, May 27, 2006

Established two years ago, the Sliverbird Cinema has proved to be a centre of movie excellence. It has succeeded in reviving the cinema culture in Lagos.

it has even gone further than this. Now, a movie buff can sit relaxedly and enjoy his favourite flick in a comfortable environment, with his wife and children in tow. How has it been in the last two years? Blockbuster spoke with Mr Jide Azumah, General Manager, Silverbird Galleria. Excerpts:

It has been a very long road in the last two years because there was no precedent. We had to set a precedent to match our own standard. We made sure from day one that we were not guided by the so-called Nigerian standard. The impression we are trying to create in this country is for people to get value for their money like when they visit a place like this in any part of the world.

Bold moves

The history of Silverbird is replete with bold moves. Silverbird has a track record of working in uncharted waters. When we started 25 years ago with music promotion we were told that we wanted to do what nobody had done before. As young boys, we all grew up going to the cinema. We still have fond memories of the cinema. Now, it is a big shame that the only time we can enjoy good movies is when we travel outside Nigeria. For this reason, my chairman (Ben Bruce) decided to bring back the cinema culture. Today, there is a place a family can go for relaxation and that is the Silverbird Cinema. We have created an environment that we used to enjoy when we were growing up.

Silverbird Cinema and foreign movies

It is wrong for people to think that Silverbird Cinema is all about foreign movies. We are a 35mm cinema exhibition outfit. Nollywood does not shoot movies on celluloid. But what we have done is to invest on digital projectors to accommodate Nollywood movies that are converted to DVDs. Now, I am glad that a movie has just been produced on celluloid in Nigeria. It is entitled ìAmazing Graceî. We are looking forward to exhibiting the film.

Challenges

The number one challenge is that we have done what nobody has done. So, we had to set the pace. The fact that people are not used to this is also a problem. It is quite demanding to train people. But I am very proud that we are the first service company fully in the hands of Nigerians. This I believe is an achievement. It is very challenging to get people to act properly within an environment such as this.

Management style

It is simple. My style is leadership by example. There is nothing I ask my staff to do that I cannot do. I am here 18 hrs a day almost throughout the week. When I get to the office at 6.30am, I may not leave until 10 or 11pm. My staff is also committed. It is not just telling people to do it but showing them how to do it.

Motivation

Success motivates me. They say nothing succeeds like success. I must excel in everything that I do. Failure is an anathema. It doesnít exist in my dictionary. I thank God that today I have succeeded in all the tasks placed before me.

Expansion plans

We are building a Galleria in Abuja. We now have two centres. Within the next 2 years we will be in Bayelsa, Port Harcourt and precisely in Ikeja, Lagos.

High-capacity buses to commence operation by December –Odubela

The Chief Executive Officer of Lagos State Transport Management Authority, Mr. Yemi Odubela, has said that the high-capacity buses, which will replace the ‘molue’ and ‘danfo’ buses, will start operation by December.

Speaking in an interview with our correspondent in Lagos on Monday, Odubela said it was high time the scheme went into operation, adding that all the ‘molue’ and ‘danfo’ drivers and owners should prepare themselves for the change.

According to him, the high capacity buses has a sitting capacity for 100 people at a time, and one would replace about eight to nine ‘danfo’ buses.

Odubela noted that this would translate to fewer vehicles on the road and decrease air pollution caused by rickety ‘molue’ and ‘danfo’ buses.

He said the buses would be equipped with sufficient comfort that would persuade the private car owners to leave their vehicles and board the buses.

Odubela, who observed that some private car owners avoided some routes because of the recklessness of some commercial bus drivers, said the scheme was put in place by the state government to put an end to incessant traffic jams caused by the commercial bus drivers.

In order not to mix the business of governance with transportation, Odubela said that the state government had made transportation in the state a private affair, adding that about six private organisations had been listed for the operation.

Harrods, Wal-Mart, others head for Tinapa City

Businessday April 3rd, 2006

World famous department stores, Mac-Donalds, Wal-Mart, Harrods, and Marks and Spencer, among many others, have indicated strong interest in the N43 billion Tinapa project in Calabar, regarded as Africa's premier business resort.

The foray by these world retail market players into the Nigerian market is in response to the commitment of the Cross River State government to the completion and commissioning of the first phase of the project by December, 2006.

According to the executive governor of the state, Donald Duke, whose administration is providing the infrastructure for the project, largely funded by private sector players, Tinapa will be ready by December, 2006. The final kitting by the major shop owners and operators will however, be completed by March 2007.

When phase one of the project is completed, the specific components that will form the foundation of the development of a leisure tourism market in Nigeria would have also been firmly rooted. Some of these components that would be visible in the first phase of the project will include a shopping complex comprising four wholesale emporiums, 300 retail outlets, a food court with take - away outlets, an administrative centre, a commercial sitting area, and a parking lot for approximately 3, 000 cars and coaches.

According to information from the project site, there will also be an "entertainment strip" leading out of the shopping complex.

This, BUSINESSDAY learnt, would feature a casino of international standard, five restaurants, a cinema complex with cinemas ranging from 104 to 340 seats each, a games arcade and ten-pin bowling alley, a children's play area and a fisherman's village with themed bars, night club and an arts and crafts village.

Duke confirmed in Calabar, weekend that the phase one aspect of the Tinapa project would be home to a 300-room budget hotel, leisure land and waterworld facility, wave pool, lazy river ride, picnic area, tennis courts, life guard tower, kiosks, change room facilities, volley ball courts, management offices, among other numerous facilities.

According to the project scheme, the second phase of the world-class business resort is envisaged to include a hotel and conference complex with a 200- room branded international four star hotel, a conference centre with a main ballroom seating up to 2,000 delegates, business and fitness centres. Also, it is designed to feature three boutique stores, expansion of leisure and entertainment facilities fitted with a quad biking track, an archery range and a fisherman's wharf, among other features.

Duke said the third phase of the mega project will cover the construction of a 150-room branded international four-star hotel, a luxury beach lodge with 30 -units, a luxury bush lodge, agritourism and ecotourism. When the Tinapa project becomes functional there would be a mutual driving and sustenance of tourism which the Cross River state government has taken with Agriculture as major footwalk in the effort to power growth and development in the state.

What Nigeria needs is a rawlings(someone who can turn the country around completely). someone to turn our sadness and negativity into happiness and creativity

what's next step, is it Babangida or Atiku that should replace OBJ. I personally opposed the 3rd term but Nigeria was better off in that direction. Sure the move shows that Nigeria is democratically stronger and it was a good maove by the senate but there is no one fit to take OBJs place( By this I don't mean OBJ is a great president, I jus think he would be better than a dictator). The future of Nigeria is uncertain.
