Am sorry if it was a short sighted comment, but I mean anything concerning Dental or Oral health kinda issue
Now you're talking.
Also know that dentists also offered all courses that medical doctors did(aside Obs and gynaecology)... So they are as well oriented and knowledgeable as the fellow medidocs

Guys there no need to argue as someone said ya'll are brothers. No matter how good a medical doctor is when it comes to matters that requires dental aid, the dentist is always the referred. Also the keep to not living a sad life is to just appreciate everyone's job, we all need dentist as well as we need medical doctor. The doctor will always go to a dentist when he has a tooth ache and all, the dentist will visit the doctor when he has need for medical aid. It's simple as that, the argument which is better, they all good but everyone has his place.
It's more than just that

then check NMA nigeria medical association which includes dentist. Medical student include all specialty In medicine which dentistry is part of. Get it . That's my last take on this matter. Let's see each other after graduation then come let's argue
Lol. Wrong. Haven't you heard of the NDA? Nigerian Dental Association. Medical students doesn't include all specialty in medicine as you said. Dentistry is a discipline on its own, hence the distinction between it and Medicine.

Does this new policy mean that those admitted to study medicine this year will have to spend 7 years in school or that those currently in 400 or 500 level will now have to spend 3 years and 2 years respectively?
NO.
It will be effective on those that will be admitted next year. Those that already started with the old system will finish normally.

This policy is still subjected to further scrutiny and debate because respective medical schools involved may choose to adhere to either of these three conditions state which are:1)a 7 year MBBS/BDS programmes which will lead to the award of two degrees: bsc basic medical sciences +MBBS and Bachelor of Dental sciences+BDS respectively..I still wonder how this is going to affect the qualities of the holders..To me,A waste of time, resources e.t.c.2) respective schools involved may choose to continue with the six year programme at their own discretion...SEE CONFUSION
Let's see what good would come out from it

am really amazed at how we have quickly analysed everything. from my view just like in biological science department where student are admitted into, do same courses but with little disparity in final year inform of elective for those that want botany or zoology. this is not going to be so in the 7 year system for mbbs. u will get admitted in mbbs and study all of Human anatomy, medical physiology and medical biochemistry at the end of the fourth year, u will be awarded a degree in whichever you performed better during ur mb3 professionals before proceeding for clinical . for those coming from sciences i.e mcb, zoology etc , u will be admitted into part 2 mbbs to spend 3yrs in preclinical against the 2 years that DE spend i in preclinical nd u will get b.med at the end of preclinical mb u performed outstandingly then comes ur clinical. thanks proudly unimaidite.
Well said.

Profcamsey:
With this new system, there be admission into medicine and surgery but the first 4 years ll now be run like other courses in semester system and there ll be grading (cgpa). All students must choose there course of interest in the 4th year which they ll be givenBsc in. The next 3 years ll be for clinical students.
Those with Bsc inanatomy, physiology and med biochemistry ll now use 3 years to get MBBS or BDS. Those with degree from biological sciences ll have to use 6 years cos they have no knowledge of the basic medical courses. Other health related courses ll use 4 years to obtain the MBBS degree.
