Oga Spyder, sorry to call us back. Remember, all students to grasp at the same pace. Just want to know why some part of the foundation had beams, as against the other part that are just blinding and then blocks? Was that because that part of the land was too soft or had heavier load to carry?

Bekee72, u have done well. Oga Spyder, I speak with your permission. The decking stage requires a lot of money to be spent on Irons and woods mostly. My recommendation is that you also save up enough money to build the upper block work immediately. Here is why: the Iron used in the decking remains a part of the structure; however, the wood, if stored can go to waste=money lost. But if u deck, and use the same wood for your lintel, you would have saved yourself a lot of money. Just my two cents!!

1. My builder says we need 30 trips of 20 ton laterite sand to fill. The raft was 3 board raft. Is this appropriate? How do I know a 10 ton vs a 15 ton vs 20 ton tipper when they come to deliver?
2. My builder advised that we do block work to lintel before raft. To allow the sand to compact. Is this wise
3. My builder told us that we need 4000 blocks to lintel. This does not include pillars. Is this reasonable?
Help will be appreciated
Please note that the land was waterlogged,

Answer:

Hello, I do bliv that you would want to create the raft, fill the partitions, then german flooring before you even start the block work for the house to have solid foundation. My 2 cents is that the german floor chains the entire raft foundation together.

prince_onx:
Absolutely! It's harder doing/installing the conduit plumbing compare to the external one. The only difference now is that you have to refill/patch and replaster all the broken parts of the block/wall where you originally intend to run the pipes.
A friend who also already started his own until Spyder revelaed more external piping and disadvantages especially that nasty broken pipe picture is filling/re-plastering his wall now & doing the external plumbing piping except electricals.

Thanks prince Onx and Oga Spyder.

At Spyder,
Thank you bros. So, using imported iron does not necessarily equate to been the best. I know Nigerians bliv that imported products are the best when in reality its not always the case.

Oga Spyder and all,
I beg, what is d difference between Turkey iron and imported irons? I ask because am at d decking level and hope to deck soon-was told to buy imported iron or a nigerian iron called Turkey. my understanding is that the two mentioned iron brands are more expensive then the rest. Here is the main question, must I use these two brands for my decking or is this another wave or extortion?
