GrammarNazi1: Some people need to know that Messi is not normal. They think Messi's abnormality is dependent on the mediocrity of today's defenders. However, they are mistaken because the mere fact that Messi is abnormal indicates that today's defenders are never mediocre.
Apart from Messi and C. Ronaldo who score an unimaginable number of goals, who else does?
So, it's preposterous to think that Messi is this great because defenders are not doing enough. Abi o That's another valid point. Defenders are not good and that's why Messi and Ronaldo are scoring 50 to 60 goals. Oya remove Messi and Ronaldo, Who else is scoring 50 to 60 goals? Spillo1 brain never mature to reason that one. |

spillo1: Lol prime Maradonna and de Lima will piss all over this era.
The Serie A of the 80's and 90's was like watching teeth being pulled unless you were being treated to a proper, top class attacker or forward because the defenses were so good, tactical and cynical, that nothing but the top brass could get any change out of them.
Batistusta, Baggio, Del Piero and so forth had it really hard and it was a genuine acheivement for a lone player to outfox such a collection of mean, hard-nosed defenders who played every game like their life depended on it. Ask kimbeast or any person who watched Seria a then.
That's why when Ronaldo went there and ripped the piss out of the league it caused an absolute uproar. Before he got there all the defenders and football experts were saying he'd not be the same player in Italy as he was in Spain because he wouldn't be allowed to play in the same manner. They were right. He was even better in Italy than he was in Spain because he became a playmaker and link man as well as the goal-scorer, whilst in Spain, it was all about giving Ronaldo the ball and watching him run to goal and convert. Do you research on why Maradonna is called a demi god in Naples.
The likes of Van Basten and Gullit were booted and kicked so frequently in Serie A that it forced early retirement for Van basten who retired 29 and caused Gullit to have countless time out with one injury or another. It was a mean, hard-nosed league. Doing the business there carried more merit than any other league.
The late 80's and 90's Serie A may have had the biggest concentration of imported, world-class talent a league has ever seen. It was the place to be if you wanted to make your mark and sides in Spain and England had to do a lot more AND beat at least a couple of Italian teams to be taken seriously. When United beat Juventus of the mid 90's, who were seen as the best side in the world, it catapulted us to a completely new level of world renown and global recognition as a footballing force. It announced us as big time player again.
If the likes of Shearer and Bergkamp had done what they did in Italy rather than England at that time they'd be held in much higher regard now than just good players.
Ronaldo going there and shaking that league to the core was like something out of a science fiction flick. Maradonna at Napoli also. Before and after Maradonna Napoli are shitts. If you think these O.G's won't rip apart this silly era I nothing to say to you. So many half truths. A lot of misconceptions about the Maradona and Napoli situation. He did well but the exaggerations are out of this world. Before Maradona, Napoli had some decent spells and were top 5 team in Italy for many seasons. In 1984 they had an investment sort of like what Man City had and rebuilt the squad with Maradona and others like Ciro Ferrara, Salvature Bagni, Fernando De Napoli. A lot of people like you even think that Napoli used to languish at 10th position, bought Maradona and pow!, went on to win the league the very next season.NO THEY DID NOT! They went trophyless for 2 seasons before they finally won serie A after rebuilding. As for De Lima, how many goals did he score in the Serie A in a season? Kpata Kpata 42 goals. We are talking about players scoring 65 to 70 goals per season. Abeg rest joor. Defence or not, Messi and Ronaldo are the greatest goal scorers in the history of the sport. |

Have you ever watched a knockout match, where the losing team was sent home, but one of their players advanced to the next round?
If the most basic rules of football dont recognise individual effort, then what is your point?
You have to win the team achievement first, before we say ok, you have the basics, lets look at you individually.
Otherwise Susaeta with 51 assists > Xavi with 41
Show us ya certificate, no time for ejo wewe I disagree Bro. In comparing 2 players, both individual successes and team successes must be assessed. But it must never be 50-50 since we're comparing 2 individuals not 2 teams. It must be weighted higher for individual successes, something like 60-40 or even 70-30. |

A lot of football fans have failed to recalibrate their minds to the new order. Before the 1990's a lot of focus and importance was on the International scene. World Cups, Copa Americas and the Euros. Less importance was attached to the domestic leagues and the Champions league. But from the late 90's to the present times, more importance must be given to club football because club foorball has become far more glamorous, far more competitive and far more important. Let's put all that into perspective! In 4 years a top player plays an average of 200 games in club competitions. In the same span of time a top player plays an average of 10 competitive games on National team competitions. That's 200 to 10. We want to judge a player's GOAT or RAM status by 10 games over 200 games Quite ridiculous! Thinking about how glamorous and money spinning the Champions league has become, Club football has become the new order. Ronaldo won the Euros yet there still exists a GOAT debate, That debate dies the very moment Messi wins Copa America. That's the levels to this shit. |

Lol This whole thing is just like comparing 2 footballers pound for pound, and then any small thing you leave their individual numbers and start running to one team trophy that is not even the FIFA World Cup, flexing over a trophy which is far far far from a GOAT-level trophy. Messi thumps Ronaldo in play making and assists so Ronaldo prides himself with the tag of a super goal scorer, A GOAL MACHINE. But then the unmasking is done and it feels very awkward for his fan boys; 700 goals in 974 apps. 674 goals in 828 apps. 24 more goals in 146 more games! Goal Machine!!! So they abandon all comparisons on individual basis and all scramble to "international trophy" A SHORT STORY. Ronaldo plays at Euro 2016 and is superb against Hungary, a country that Is actually very very Hungry, in fact starving on the football scene. Messi also demolishes the USA. They both get to the finals; one loses on penalties after 120 minutes and the other basically misses the final but his team mates deliver the goods. And then certain people are able to conclude from this short story above that one is greater than the other. As As how now How is it possible from the above scenario? Oh Oh Oh, my bad. He cheered his team from the sidelines. Yeah that's it. He cheered then to victory! He abandoned his boots and picked up a mic. *A World Cup Golden Ball. *2 Copa America Golden Balls. *A Junior World Cup Golden Ball. *All time top Scorer for Argentina. *All time top Assist maker for Argentina. But he's the flop for country. Someone else who's never had any notable performance in any international tournament but has had his team mates carry him over the line constantly is the GOAT. Ronaldo fan boys are always trying to take someone's else's crown. |

Seriously speaking,
90 percent of the legislators have got very little or no political value.
They òwe their popularity to the President and the state governors.
PMB has nothing much to worry about.
As long as they don't achieve the two-thirds majorities in both houses.
All the President needs to worry about is the state governors.
If APC is able to keep the entire 26 governors they have now on their side,
Nothing to lose sleep over.
Much ado about nothing. |
