usbcable: puhleeeazze, dont make it seem as if barca became so generous as to allow RM have some wins in some recent matches.
accepted it was el-thrashico in the first match(5-0 drubbing)
but as el-mister said Barca was a "finised product" while RM "is a team in the making".

and his words have come to pass - as always.

BTW every season we have achieve one form of victory over barca so dont make it seem as if una pity us.
my brother just agree that the entire real madrid squad, coach and board were frustrated by the constant thrashings then and hence the constant fights.

team in the making? assembled with millions of pounds? taking a 5-0 drubbing? that's no excuse for a 5-0 thrashing. team in the making, 1-0 ok, 2-0 ok but def not 5-0.

Johnpaul88: @ddippset, please save your breath from that attention seeker who calls himself Davies. He's such a retard and he'll keep saying the same thing over and over again like he's life depend on them . I something doubt if he 's got a life outside criticising Barca. He must be such a wounded and deflated fan who have seen this Barca make him weep time and again. He now cut a frustrated figure. He now wants more than anything to see Barca defeated by any team whatsoever. He becomes their fan instantly to see if his dream will become a reality. You can only imagine what happened to him when we beat Seville in the last minute. He very nearly ran mad here. Such is the unfortunate life this Davies of a guy have chosen to live . Shame! It makes you wonder how he actually chose to live this way.
you're right bro, he criticizes without facts and logic, and what is most annoying, he claims he has more facts and logic than anyone else.

truth you say? now let's talk some home truth here. now lets consider arguably the 3 greatest teams in the past 5 years. real madrid, manchester united and barcelona. i could conveniently say that barcelona has humiliated and annahilated both teams fairly and squarely. after the games against man u, alex fergusson said that he had never been so badly beaten in his entire career(alex admitted). now to real madrid, thrashed 5-0 fairly and squarely, mourinho refused to admit that he was roundly beaten (arrogant mourinho) but who needed to be told; it was the worst defeat of his entire career. and then davies 123 comes here disrespecting barca. i feel sorry for you. what barca did to both man u and madrid , no any other team could do that in today's game.

everyone would agree that the classicos have been very peaceful lately. why? very simple. madrid have started winning some. this tells us barca's level of tolerance and sportsmanship. back then when barca used to thrash madrid home and away madrid resorted to kicking and fighting. the madrid coach inclusive. their is peace now because madrid have started winning.

i remember the 5-0 drubbing. 11 against 11. no sending off. but people like davies 123 would say that when messi had the ball in the 93rd minute and diarra and ramos kicked him from behind at the same time and ramos was sent off, the referee was biased and madrid could have come 5-0 from behind to win 6-5. oya now tell us, davies 123 tell us that scvmbag.

I thought somebody on barca thread said he will play.

but wont batra be a better option, since he is regarded with high esteem as the next big defender for barca.

I wish it was barca midfield that was in absolute crisis not the defence.

barca has always never had a defence, but midfield? you know the answer.

I hope which ever plays amongst essien or modric will shut that engine room down. at least modric did great in the euros and essien is experienced in combat with the tripod from barca.

song and mascherano should do very well. dani alvez should be cautioned from going forward, let pedro advance on the right. that way barcelona wont be caught on counters. barca wins 1-0.

hahahaha. maybe you are right, it's actually not a rule of thumb. but it's easier said sha. just go back and watch our old matches against madrid and see how many goals we conceeded from set pieces, obviously due to lack of heights not lack of concentration.
Mcleo007: Not all 5 footers have poor jump ability. Puyi is a classic case here. And mind you, its poor concentration and positioning that make teams concede from set-pieces and not lack or thereof of height. The latter is as secondary to the case in question as needing a bible is to understanding the difference between gud and evil.

he is tito vilanova. sorry you are a little behind time. the 'only one' doesn't refer to him as 'pito' anylonger. he only resorted to name calling and eye poking when he could hardly win a game against barcelona. now he has won a couple and the so he doesn't need to call him 'pito' anymore.

logica: Without Puyol, Barca will always be susceptible in dead-ball situations. Pique without Puyol is mostly useless because Puyol always snaps his fingers to wake him up. The guy falls asleep right there on the pitch and day-dreams (maybe he has ADHD). He said as much himself (Puyol helping him to concentrate). At least Song can win headers. I wouldn't bet on Busquets doing same.
well i guess that's too bad for us cus puyol's days are numbered. but he will be back in december. and i hope he wont have any more injuries till may. if we beat madrid on sunday i could put all my money on the legaue trophy coming back to the nou camp.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by ddippset(m): 10:44pm On Oct 04, 2012
logica: Barcelona can actually play the same line-up that beat Benfica against Real Madrid. Only thing is the full-backs (Dani Alves and Jordi Alba) will have to do less of attacking and more of defending. This will of course take off a lot of attacking edge they provide; but they will be needed to provide cover for the center-backs as well as double-teaming the likes of Benzema, Higuain and C. Ronaldo. None of those 3 can beat Dani or Jordi for pace; which they can with Mascherano and Song. So I believe the outcome of the match will hinge on how well Dani and Jordi can provide cover. Also the pace of Pedro, Alexis and Tello (if he plays) should not only be put to use in attack; they will be crucial in defending as well (in providing cover for Dani and Jordi). In summary, it will take a huge team effort and synergy to win this game.

I will also like to mention that Barca will need to manufacture and finish counter-attack moves; Barca is just as deadly on the counter as Madrid is. But the problem (believe it or not) is Xavi who slows down the play most times; and I have seen him pass up through passes that would have led to fast counter-attacks. And this is one area of passing in which Messi beats Xavi hands down. Messi is in my opinion the best you can find on this planet on the through-pass-on-the-counter. You might want to check this, but the very few times Barca scored from counter-attacks, Xavi was most likely not involved in the build-up.

And as for the preference Barca has for mid-fielders over "natural" defenders; the concept is simple. The Barca philosophy is to keep the ball and build an attack right from the defense; and who else "naturally" knows how to keep the ball than a "natural" mid-fielder? And who can send a precise defense splitting pass all the way from the last line of defense than a mid-fielder? And here is the kicker - even Puyol did not start out playing as a center-back for Barca; he was a full-back/mid-fielder.
fine. but what are you gonna do when there is a free kick or a corner kick? you then have five footers like alba, alvez, mascherano, xavi, and co up against six footers like benzema, higuain , ronaldo, khedira, alonso, kaka and co. and then the ball keeps getting looped over?

yourangel:

I have modified it Sir. At times, our coaches (Guardiola and Tito) take too much/unnecessary risks. We currently have no defence at all. We only have defensive midfield, central midfield and attack. Our so-called full-backs are 'full-attackers' (lol). Madrid need the 3 points more than we do, so why should we go out and attack agressivly when we are defenceless? We should be more defence minded than attack. Even if the game is drawn, Barca are still the winner. Since we are not desperate for a win, we should solidify our defence and midfield. Stop them from scoring us by having a solid defense and keeping possession. It would get them frustrated and once they open up space in their defence, we strike them immediately.

Towards the end of the game, our attack could be rejuvenated by removing Bartra and bringing in Villa or Fabregas. This time, Madrid would be tired because they have been starved of possession. Though I'm a novice, but I don't think this thing is rocket science. Our coaches are so obsessed with attacking football, that they don't care about our defence; and that's always our undoing.

How come Chelsea 'parked the bus' against us last season, yet they scored three goals against us both home and away? Simply because we were so carried away in our attacking football that we forgot to take care of our defence.
my brother no be lie you talk. i concur. we share the same philosophy. a typical barcelona team is this way; using the normal first eleven as my case study; alvez is attacking, abidal is attacking, puyol is back and forth, xavi, iniesta, messi, pedro, villa, all attacking. leaving behind busquets and maybe pique. and this is why a madrid or a chelsea would kill us on the counter. seriously against madrid on sunday i would love to see busquets, song and bartra on the pitch.

Thanks bro! At least I'm not alone....lol. I absolutely agree with you that Pedro is fitter and quicker than Villa for now. So, I will now modify the original post and put Pedro in place of Villa. It's said that the first design is not always the best or final design. One keeps improving an original design by continuous modification until one gets to the perfect design. That's what Engineering entails. One love bro!

ddippset: i think iam with you 100% on this, esp with the bartra and song inclusions. but i do have my reservations about villa. pedro is fitter and quicker for now and he has a very good record against madrid.
having said this i know however that either of bartra and song will give way for fabregas. tito would not deem it necessary to shield the crappy defence line. i pity us because with an all out attacking team, attacking full backs and a crappy defence, what might happen will better be imagined.

I agree completely with you, bro. The fact that Messi can score loads of goals and also create loads of scoring opportunities make him one of the most complete players ever. His close rivals in the game are merely goal scoring machines. They are not as creative (be it Falcao, Ronaldo, just name it). This is what makes Messi 'extra-terrestrial' according to Jorge Jesus, coach of Benfica, at the post-match press conference on Tuesday night.

I am not a good football analyst, please cules, what do you guys think of a line up like this for Sunday's classico?

Valdes

Alves Mascherano Bartra Alba

Song

Busquets

Xavi Iniesta

Messi Villa

Song is there to give cover to the rookie (Bartra) so as to solidify the defense. Villa plays as a lone striker whilst Busquets, Xavi, Messi and Iniesta form the core of the attacking midfield. If we are leading in the second half, Song or Bartra could be substituted by bringing in Pedro or Fabregas to consolidate our attack.

I'm not an expert though, but I just want us to win Madrid 'any which way we go fit take do am'. I want us to widen that gap from 8 to 11 points and win the league as soon as possible so that we could give 100% concentration to the champions league. This is our year (every other year; 2008, 2010, 2012). Visca el Barca
