usbcable: the falcao showabsoluely on point; the falcao show in the messi game. |
usbcable: it just shows JM is never scared to do what he has in mind.in other words when that which he has in his mind backfires, the referee and whoever made the fixture schedule gets the stick. |
usbcable: I never believed he was ever injured in the first place.why do you think messi would feign an injury? |
usbcable: it just shows JM is never scared to do what he has in mind.but be rest assured that if the match had ended up in a draw we wouldn't be talking about morinho's courage. Rather we be talking about referees and fixtures this sunday morning. |
do not mistaken messi for ronaldo or some other player. true, messi scores goals in geometric proportions, but his game isnt and never has been about goals. messi is about assists, messi is about dribbles, messi is about passes, messi is about ball sense. remove messi's 84 goals and you still have got a footballing genius, a play maker , a master dribble. unlike some of his adversaries you remove their goals and they are worthless. messi has won 2 important trophies for argentina at age 25, he has another 8 years to win the copa and make the world cup semis if not win it. but for now he is ARGUABLY the greatest of all time. hate it or love it. |
jcgodfrey: "What if" is fantasy. The fact is Zidane played for France. Okocha played for Nigeria but he's still a great player. Am not comparing Messi to C.Ronaldo, who doesn't interest me in the least. Neither did I say Messi aint good. Sure Messi is good, but the hype pass wetin him dey do. Fine, Zidane has a temper n missed 2 matches. Sure he has a great team backing him, but that team was built in 3 years after usa 94 which France failed to qualify for! But the French players all recognize their reference player n it was Zidane, same in 2006. That's howe success is built around a team. So when he returned, the rest was history. U can't say he did nothing. He scored 2 goals in a world cup final against brazil! Guy, go sidon somewhere jor. Olodo. And he won the champions league with his goal too. Zidane might not score 45 goals in a match n chase stats like some glory-hunting players, but we all know watsap. When it came to the big ocassions, the dude stepped up big-time! Same for Delima Ronaldo. Messi is now a senior player so the world cup n copa america are reference points for him now, not the Olympics, so he has to get his acts together for his country. or else, how do u justify Zidane n Delima Ronaldo who have 6 ballon d'ors between them n 5 world cup medals n be dragging with Messi who hasn't even played a world cup semi-final?? Clubwise, Zidane won it all too. The only thing is Messi actively chases goals deliberately. So how would u score 75 or wateva goals in a season n not win the league or ucl? And xavi n co score like 5 or 7? That's stupidity. But madrid share their goals round n won the league with record points. That's sensible. So if Messi likes, he should deliberately chase n break Muller's goal record, but he should remember that Muller has won the world cup n everything else with record goals too. Even George Weah won Ballon d'or, unfortuntely Liberia aint that big, but u can't say d same for Argentina. So Messi should change his deliberate goal-hunting perception n work for the good of his team n his country. Even Maradona got to 2 back-to-back world cup finals while winning one n he didn't do it by scoring 56,000 goals. jcgodfrey: "What if" is fantasy. The fact is Zidane played for France. Even Maradona got to 2 back-to-back world cup finals while winning one n he didn't do it by scoring 56,000 goals.your only argument is playing the world cup card on messi. like it or not zidane had a great great great team behind him. ronaldo de lima had a wonderful team of super stars as well. argentina of today has a world class attack, a mediocre goal keeper, a mediocre mid field, a mediocre defence. that wouldn't win nobody a world cup. turn on your tv set, turn on your internet, buy a sport magazine from any renowned magazine store or evn the aboki vendor down the street, turn on you super sport tv, aljazeera and so on, great football pundits are making cases for messi being the greatest of all time, pundits are asking if he is better than maradona and pele. when you re done keep writing full pages of anti messi gibberish. he will win his forth ballon d'or , and every where you go people will be discussing pele, maradona, and messi. all in the same sentence, all up in your face boi. |
jcgodfrey: Messi's good, no doubt. But in dis generation, Messi n C. Ronaldo are "over-achievers". That's because the competition is less than b4! Not every player is lucky to win the World Cup, but dis Argentine squad is collectively better than Maradona's. Maradona is simply better n more technical n graceful than Messi. Watch him play, plus he endured harder tackles. Back in d days referees will have to see blood b4 they give a free-kick. And pls don't tell me Maradona is an old-timer. Oliseh n Okocha played against him, n Oliseh is a hard-tackler, as hard as they come. So Okocha can virtually say I played against Maradona n Messi n then compare the two. La-Liga is a 2-horse race, so when Messi plays in world cup, he can't weave the same magic. Zidane won 3 ballon d'ors for winning World cup, euro cup n champions league(1998,2000,2003). Now that's a fitting achievement! As it relates to technique, C.Ronaldo runs to the byline n does 5 stupid step-overs, but Ronaldo Delima counts 2 n beat his man! Dats y he won 2 world cup in 3 consecutive finals n 3 ballon d'ors, n if not for injuries, Delima could have won 5 ballon d'ors. Plus 15 world cup goals! But fans of nowadays think football started last year. Even Thierry Henry won it all, but great players like Zidane n Ronnie beat him to the Ballon d'or. And all these av mentioned all won the world cup. Messi still has time, but I doubt he has a strong personality n influence like theses guys for his country. So pls, when ppl r talking about greatest players, Messi n C.Ronaldo r bottom of the pile n they themselves know it. Racking up 200 silly goals against silly oppositions in Spain. Check out Raul's goals against Valencia, Deportivo, Real Betis of his time n compare the significance to Valencia of now. So, I rest my case. As for the best player ever, none comes a mile close to The Number 10, Pele. He had everything, n I mean, everything! Speed, strength, technique, I can't say it all. And most of all, he had heart. Pele's so humble n one of the most emotional players. When he achieved, he was always moved to tears cos he understood significance n grace, even to this day.let me ask you a few questions: what if zidane played for algeria instead of france? he wouldnt have won a world cup or a euro 2000, would that remove a bit off the great footballer that he turned out be? what if messi played for spain instead of argentina? he would have won the world cup definitely, would that add a bit to the great footballer that he turned out to be? ask yourself! |
the irony of it all is that all these people who keep saying that messi has not won anything for argentina and keep down playing his olympic gold and junior world cup gold would be the firsts to run naked in the streets of ajegunle when their beloved father land wins the olympic or u-17. even with over aged players we still cannot win these age grade competitions. and yet ' messi has not won anything for argentina'well, for me messi doesnt have to be the best ever. as long as he is top 5, and he keeps getting compared to pele and maradona. |

When he achieved, he was always moved to tears cos he understood significance n grace, even to this day.now these sorts of argument make we wonder how stvpid we homo sapiens could get! how could someone make a stvpid statement as 'zidane won the world cup'. the same zidane who did nothing until the final against brazil? the same zidane who missed 2 games owing to a red card? the same zidane who had the great bartez in goal, lizarazu, thuram, desaily, leoborf, willy sagnol in defence? the same zidane who had makalele, vieira, blanc, deschamps in midfield? the same zidane who had henry, trezeguet, in attack? and he won the world cup all by himself. common be a little intelligent mannn!!! look at messi's games; count his successful dribbles, count his passes, count his assists. his goal against getafe remains arguably the greatest goal ever scored! and he has replicated that goal a number of times. see how many records he has broken this year, maybe not 74 but he has broken 20 records this year alone, i put that on my life. messi please win a forth world player of the year award, and the sensible part of humanity will label you the greatest of all time. who has won 4 ballon d'ors before? nobody. individually messi is the greatest footballer of all time. messi and ronaldo are parallel lines. they never meet. it is a sacriledge to keep comparing ronaldo to meessi and the gods of soccer will strike you down, stvpid haters! |
Please my cule brothers, how is the Fifa Ballon D'Or award voted for? I know that National Team Coaches, Captains and selected sports Journalsits from various countries do the voting. How's the voting done? The initial shortlist comprised of 23 candidates which has now been reduced to 3. How did Fifa select the current three players from the 23 candidates? Were the national team coaches, captains and journalists responsible for the selection of the final three candidtes? How s the winner going to be determined from the final three? Please I would appreciate your kind explanation. Cheers guys!
iam glad to oblige you. the voting has already been done. infact the winner's name is already in a vault @ the fifa head quarters as we speak. it's a one time voting process. FIFA only annonced the top 3 (with the highest votes)last week. then on january 7, 2013 they shall announce the name of the candidate that got the highest votes which they already have in their possession. hope you get it now. so no matter what any of iniesta ronaldo and messi does, the winner is already gotten, if they like make they score 1 million goals for one match. |
Great thinkers and political philosophers really believed in revolution. Check out the writings of John Locke, the philosophy of US founding fathers, Zhou dynasty of China and the ancient Greeks. What people who don't really understand democracy don't understand is that in democracy, revolution is built into the system after years on reforms and civilization of the raw concept. That revolution is election and that is why electoral fraud is the single most putrid abuse of democracy because it stifles the ability of the majority to determine how they are governed. The ancient revolution model burns down cities in an attempt to bring down governments that acts against their 'common interest' mainly because the governments then did not have life spans, the leader leads till death and most likely hands over to his child (heir) like what happened in North Korea recently. Any body who give this idea of revolution a 10 minutes thought will understand that it is really childish and borne more out of exuberance to call for a revolution against a government with 4 to 10 years life span which is so minute in the life of a country. Revolution is actually having terminal elections for leaders like Fashola and Ikedi Ohakim for the people to decide whether the leader is still serving their 'common interest' It means the moral and political need for all to go out and vote in line with policies and programs of a leader. It also means wisdom to safeguard the present civilization, no matter how little while expressing out desire for change of government- via polling booths. This is actually one of the reason I believe that GEJ is far more intelligent that the collection of the folks that call him clueless because he is strongly committed to defending our rights to revolts, but this time via the polling booths and our voting cards. No matter how attractive the word 'revolution' as is being presently called for may sound to young(not age wise but depth) minds, it is the single strongest forces of retrogression. Under the spell of 'revolution', we may not just have a country anymore. Under 'revolution fever' we can give extremists and unstable and brainwashed minds free reign over our affairs because thinkers and intelligent people can never support revolution where there is free and fair election. The 'revolution' I support today is the one that will allow me to cast my vote for or against my leaders and seeing my vote being counted in the evening of the election day. Even if my choice of candidate did not prevail, I have had my say and the majority have decided what 'we' should do, after all, I can not be wiser than tens of millions of people. That revolution empowered Imo people to vote out Ikedi Ohakim and Ondo people to vote in Mimiko without destroying their market places, loss of life and burning down their cities. In 2015, I will participate in another revolution, to determine who will replace my State Governor and who will be my President for the next four years.
nice pice but iam sorry my dear, elections in nigeria are still very far from being free and fair so the kind of revolution that you seek isnt coming any time soon. also i assure you that our political system gives no room for chosing my favoured candidate for over 90% of nigerians. its always a situation of chosing the lesser evil. for instance my foresight tells me that in 2015 i would once again be stuck between voting for a weak GEJ and a fundamentalist buhari, caught between the devil and the deep blue see if you would. |
sholatech: One of such matches that makes one proud to be a Barca Fan. Not just winning, but winning well with Iniesta on rampage. And also cooled off reading this factfile:i dont even depend on these stats to compare both players. all i have to do is watch messi play and watch ronaldo play and when i am done, i tell you 'messi is a greater footballer than ronaldo' |
all hell's been let loose! |
is she in an infirmary or something? |
a win against levante tonight @ the estadi ciutat de valencia and la liga is a wrap. at that rate assuming we win, we might make 108 points this season. how nice. |
mourinho, the full grown child is at it again; whining about referees and fixtures! |
Akposkool: Ayew n song?i laugh at caf.that moroccan played better dan ayew in france, and he won ligue 1 for lille.if song is there, definitely mikel should be there as well.song played nothing last year when mikel was bossing the midfield against barca and bayern munich.this caf is bias.demba ba played well till cisse came and stole the show.my final 3 should be,drogba, toure n mikel.lol @ the bolded. |

Or still use google search for ESPYS best international athlete of 2012. It definitely lionel messi. If you still don't find it maybe u aint spelling google right. |
You people and this your usual bogus award.,when was messi voted as best athlete for 2012? I doubt if a footballer can win that this year considering the fact that it‘s an olympic year. @OP...Obviously,he‘s sexy.
it's a fact, it's simple. Just even gOogle it up. Messi was voted best athlete of 2012 a couple of months ag0. He beat ronaldo, lebron, djokovic and hussein bolts to it. |
