The Rivers Assembly had no chance of impeaching Fubara in the first place..

The Chief Justice wasn't going to cooperate with them.


The only chance they ever had of impeaching Fubara was going to be illegally and that would have meant with the total support of the same Tinubu.

So Tinubu didn't have to declare an emergency rule to stop an impeachment, all he had to do was, not participating in bypassing the Rivers CJ..


Having said that, Tinubu declared the state of emergency in order to give Wike an advantage in the fight.

Tinubu needs an anchor man in Rivers State to galvanized support for him heading to 2027 and Wike was the man,, so he had to give the state to Wike.
