TimeManager: Do you know the meaning of a Sole Administrator?. And these are the set of youths wanting to take over tomorrow, it shows the decrepit level of our Educational system.
-Kiss the truth!
Rubbish,,,
You should rather agree that that sole administrator stuff is an aberration,, an absurdity.
In any normal society there must be fiscal responsibility, accountability and financial oversight..
In this 21st century you cannot release money to a sole admin to spend without anyone checkmating him.
Even Tinubu cannot spend money like that without appropriation and oversight by the house..
At worst the sole administrator should be made to submit a budget to the national assembly during emergency rule.
I know some of you have lived here so long that your mentality is getting animalist but this is not an animal kingdom.
casualobserver: This is what happens with poor education.
The operative phrase is “state of emergency”. To save you having to go back to school to learn this with 10-15 yr olds, it means the normal rules don’t apply. That’s why for instance your freedom of movement can be restricted during a state of emergency. Abi was it not the same civilian democracies all over the world you like to report to where curfews were imposed during the covid emergency?
Nigerian education is in a sorry state!
So normal rules don't apply for financial propriety, accountability,, fiscal responsibility, and financial oversight?
And I think Akwa Ibom central deserves better than an ugly randy lousy grandpa with numerous corruption allegations on his head, to represent them and also become the Senate President of the Federal Republic.
With each passing day you find yourself at a loss as to how to understand Nigeria..
You cannot release allocation to a democratically elected Governor who is working with a budget passed by 4 lawmakers under the logic that "those 4 lawmakers only represent 12 percent of the state"
But you can release allocation to a man who is not even from the state , appointed by the President, without even one single lawmaker to make appropriation.
I need someone to help me understand this..
Surely the Nigeria Constitution never could have contemplated this absurdity.
adioolayi: It's not about being clever ..it is the law. Who announced defection and who has the power to tell that defection has happened. The two answers are not ambiguous....The Speaker of the house and also Court of competent jurisdiction.
Next time... people will follow due process to the letter on the side of the law.
This is not emotions or sentiments
That's the point..
If this was a country and not a zoo,, The speaker should have declared himself and his 26 members' seats vacant..
And in a case where he fails, the courts should have declared all the seats vacant.
But like I said, this is a zoo not a country..
*You announce your resignation from PDP during plenary on live television. *You go to a Federal High Court to swear an affidavit on oath that you have dumped PDP.
And then you come back to tell the world that you didn't leave the party, you were joking..
And then we have normal human beings in this country defending them!!!
adioolayi: My conscience is clear...Wike is wicked...he stays on the right side of the law to fight his fights..
Let's start with Rivers State House of Assembly members.. The Governor erred in law, by rushing to demolish the house of assembly, after seeing the video of defection..he should have allowed them to sit and allow speaker announce their defection...then, he will approach the court to a call for the removal of their seats. This he should have done to be on the right side of law.
What did Wike did? Sending that the defected lawmakers erred by announcing on TV...He technically stopped them from defecting legally...they instead started denying their unofficial defection to remain on the right side of law.
Same with this PDP issue, NWC should have used internal party mechanism to remove Anyawu... instead, they rushed to obey a court judgement that lacks jurisdiction on internal affairs of the party. Somehow, the South South PDP congress organised by Wike will now be valid.
The Supreme Court has taught you people how to be clever by half. Let me make this short so you could assimilate...
They didn't need to defect to APC. All they had to do was to announce their departure from PDP. That is enough for them to forfeit their seats. Announcing that they had left PDP, backed by a sworn affidavit,,, THEY LOST THEIR SEATS.
And don't forget
The Supreme Court is fallible and has proved that very many times..
You don't even have to be a lawyer to agree sincerely that those guys actually left PDP and when they saw they trouble they denied it.
Sonnobax15: Make Dem go rest abeg . When the crisis between Fubara and the house members was escalating, where were they all those while? ..
The truth is that, tho Tinubu's decision was kinda harsh, but it's equally the best ever........At least,by the 6 months time, the heads of both parties of wereys and that of drunkard Wike go don calm down...
They have their own work at the Senate.
Their work is not to be going to Rivers to settle quarrel.
Orinechi: If he didn't do anything, why didn't the supreme court rule in his favour? you are old enough not to speak up against the rascality of state governors and how they have reduced the sanctity of their respective state high court Then who has committed an offence? Is it the HOA members who pursued their case to supreme court? Do you know what it portends for a court that doesn't have jurisdiction to entertain a matter? All these could have been avoided if the state high court had not entertain the matter.
Abeg you people should stop talking about Supreme Court as if it was led by Jesus Christ and Prophet Muhammad.
Do you think Supreme Court don't collect Ghana must Go?
Is it not the same Supreme Court led by a woman from Lagos state.?
Abeg rest, we are not children.
Stop quoting Supreme Court as if Supreme Court headquarters is in heaven.
I thought you were going to tell us the main agreements like
Choosing Chief of Staff for him Choosing Chief Security Officer for him Choosing SGF for him Choosing commissioners for him Paying 20 percent of allocations Controlling LGAs for him
And so on
These are the main agreements which caused the problems.
Even if he doesn't have the right, once the Rep and Senate have ratified it, it automatically becomes law. As you can see, it's what just happened so Tinubu hasn't committed any offense. Let's move on, Fubara has been saved from certain impeachment thanks to Baba Tinubu.
These ones still defending clear constitutional violations.
So a voice votes is how we are supposed to get 2/3?
Orinechi: So as a patriot that you claim, do u support the ruling of the the River state high court that ask a governor to be working with 3 persons out of 31 persons in that house? If it were the other way, won't you shout that democracy is in danger? Which court of competent jurisdiction ruled that they have lost their seat? If the the supreme court had ruled as you said, are you saying it contradicted itself with the recent judgement on their defection? Renovation is not an offence but demolishing the entire building because you are not in good terms with majority of the assembly members is a no- no. I think you read how supreme court berated his actions regarding that. The governor is not there by himself. And his power stops where that of the assembly members start. He is representing the people like wise the legislative members. Did he seek the input of the legislative members who are representing their respective constituents before embarking on suck demolition? If President Tinubu demolishes the national assembly under any guise and ask the national assembly members to be seating in Aso villa , will u deem it as okay? When an action favours the person you like his / her face, it is legal and when it doesn't favour him/ her, it is illegal.
If you know anything about law you would understand that the Supreme Court had no right to meddle into the issue of demolition because there was no court hearing on that issue.
The Supreme Court only worked based on a report one faction gave them.
Why do you think people are saying the Supreme Court was bought?
Orinechi: So as a patriot that you claim, do u support the ruling of the the River state high court that ask a governor to be working with 3 persons out of 31 persons in that house? Too long! Just a simple response;
As long as his actions were backed by valid court orders, He did not commit any offence. Do you agree? Yes or No.
Orinechi: demolition of assembly complex, recognizing 3 persons including his boy-boy speaker as the house of assembly members claiming that others decamed, disobedient to court judgement, failing to pay constitutionally recognized HOA members for one year and six months.
1. He demolished part of the building that was earlier rocked by a bomb blast. For renovation .That is never an offence.
2. The Rivers State high court gave him a valid court order to work with the 3 man assembly. How is obeying the court order an impeachable offence? Everything he did was based on a valid court order.
3. The Supreme Court had ruled before that you vacate your seat as soon as you decamp. At first the 27 lawmakers agreed that they defected and said that the party was divided because the national secretary position was in contention. It was later that they started denying defection. So did you expect Fubara to be claiming that they had lost their seats and still be paying them?
ediko5: Primary 2 class will stone me? Nope I don't think so cos they will use their brain to think first before they take their action.
You have difficulty in comprehension else you could've understood what I meant by failed impeachment plot. You think because 20 people privately accepted to support you in a political battle means you may have up to 10 that will actually be on your side when the battle start? You're yet to understand the betrayal and interest game in politics.
You're so bereft of logic my friend...
Wike becomes a powerful minister in Abuja. Wike bought forms for all 32 assembly members.
Wike put Fubara in power.
And 3 months later Fubara wants to change the speaker that Wike installed. Just 3 months! Haba, you no dey reason?
Again, you're so bereft of logic and common sense.
Besides all that sef;;
for up to a month Fubara kept challenging them "Tell the world what I did wrong" "Tell the world my offence to warrant an impeachment"
Nobody said a word!
For so long nobody said anything,
Only to show up months later on an afterthought that Fubara tried to impeach Amaehule.
ediko5: it's a common occurrence in the Nigeria political space for a sitting governor to fight with his immediate past governor and benefactor. These fights are mostly due to power and political structure control between the current governor and his God father or sometimes due to high level of greed from the God father.
The fight between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and former Governor Nyesom Wike was shocking to many because unlike other former and current governors rift, theirs was too sudden because it started within 2 months after Fubara's inauguration. According to a politician friend close to the Rivers state government house the main foundation of Wike and Fubara's fight is the position of the house of assembly speaker.
According to their political arrangement, the position of the speaker was allocated to Edison Ehie the current chief of staff to the Governor but Wike changed the plan 48 hours to the house of assembly officials election and anointed Martins Amewhule as the speaker of the Rivers state house of assembly. To summarize the story, Edison Ehie felt betrayed and cheated by Wike formed a cartel to convince the Governor about the danger of Wike having control over the house of assembly.
They succeeded in recruiting the governor into their faction and their first action was to impeach the speaker Martins Amewhule but when their impeachment plot failed and the information got to Wike, he ordered that the Governor should be impeach for daring to impeach the speaker he anointed. Boom! that was where Sim vs Wike fight started.
How did Governor Fubara failed in displaying humility and patience ? Firstly I'm not a supporter of Wike or Godfatherism in politics but to succeed in this world you need humility, patience and some cases loyalty (in politics). Fubara was to quick to allow people to use him as a spearhead to wage war on Wike (mostly Wike's political enemies without any strong political structure). He allowed Wike's enemies to use him to fight Wike when he was yet to understand how politics works remember the governor have been a politician before, he has been a civil servant all through his life.
I'm i saying the governor shouldn't have fought Wike's Godfatherism ? NO but he should've endured Wike's insults for sometime while mastering the political game and building his own structure before he start opposing Wike's control. Imagine a sitting Governor only have 4 house of assembly members on his side out of 31, imagine a governor that couldn't have any LGA chairmen he met in office to his camp, imagine a governor where high profiled commissioners resigned from his cabinet - it shows the man is really an infant politician.
The people spearheading the governor to fight Wike are the ones benefiting from the fight ranging from political structure control, political appointment/contract, court litigation and others, there was a time Edison Ehie controlled the government house and will give top orders and approvals before the governor was even informed. According to an insider he approved and published the names of some LGA caretaker chairmen before the governor was informed and it almost caused serious issue between him and the governor but they managed it in house.
It would've been a better idea for the governor to learn the political game under Wike despite the insults he may receive and later use the experience along with other people to fight Wike and build his own structure than allowing different cartels and factions to give him directionless advice all for their personal interest.
So Edison had like 2 or 3 members and he wanted to impeach Martin Amaehule backed by 26 members?
You know even if you go to a Primary 2 class and tell them this story, they will stone you...
For many weeks Fubara kept daring them to tell the world what he did to warrant an impeachment,, no one could talk.
Only for them to come out later selling this fake story.

Tell me what lesson Ambode learnt about humility and patience..
Na for corrupt shit hole like Nigeria you wan teach humility and patience?
Xisnin: None of what you listed above is a crime or a trample on the constitution. Anybody who feels "abused" can sue for damages.
However, a governor usurping the house of assembly functions, then firing and appointing his own special lawmakers is very close to a treasonous act. It is none of Fubara's business whatever happens in the house of assembly but he thinks he is an emperor who can do anything.
Don't be silly.
Look at what I am responding to before you comment.
Bob Solomon was insulting Fubara and calling him names, alleging that he likes to insult people.
That's what I was responding to,,, not the Fubara and Amaehule issue.
