onumadu:How will you be able to get the Ironsi issue when you don't understand how important the adherence to the constitution is in genuine nation building. Ironsi tampered with a sovereign and truly people's constitution thus sparking off a constitutional crisis which consumed him and sparked off a war. Comparing Ironsi with Shonekan is at best dubious because Shonekan was more of a figurehead civilian while Ironsi was a military despot who had raw power and authority in his hands. Give Igbo man four years to transform Nigeria? How much have your Igbo governors been able to transform your SE Region beyond the usual black man's level for the 25 years they have ruled in the SE so far? 2 Likes 1 Share |

rdokoye: And those military men where majorly of which tribe? Rescue the nation from which plight? Didn't that rescuing end up in a civil war? Aren't people now of the opinion that Nigeria would have been better than it is today if that coup never happened? Why take power illegally for any excuse? The revenge coup was a Northern coup and those who carried it out don't deny that. Only you Igbos have refused to admit yours because you want to keep playing the victim card. The January 15 1966 coup is an Igbo coup because the pattern of the casualties and the eventual beneficiary revealed that there was a predetermined outcome aimed at elevating Igbos above other tribes by illegal means. 1 Like |

rdokoye: Abiola and drug trafficking? There is no pile of shit you lots can't cook up to rationalize your blunders. Falae a tribal champion? Another pile of shit to defend another blunder. If anything, Obasanjo is actually the tribal champion for refusing to send soldiers to level Shagamu and Ota in his SW home when the natives murdered security men on duty after having done so in Odi and Zakibiam on the same excuse. But how would a typical Igbo man notice that when all that he is preoccupied with is sentiments? The goal post has now shifted to 'most realistic' from the 'best'. Comedians. How did you forget that the death of zoning started with Jonathan with you Igbos' active support? Going by the true spirit of the zoning, a Northerner was supposed to have completed Yaradua's remaining 5½ years but When Jonathan chose to violate it, it was you Igbos' voice that was loudest in arguing that zoning is not in the Nigerian constitution and that Jonathan had his fundamental right to seek office. But now that Tinubu too exercised that same right to seek office, you suddenly remember that zoning should have been adhered to because he is from an ethnic group you love to hate. 1 Like |

Oriental4:A high IQ people who vote for Shagari a barely educated Fulani man. The same high IQ people, at a moment as critical as independence, chose an alliance that would give power to the educationally most backward part of the country. A high IQ people who voted for a barely educated Alhaji Bashir Tofa over Abiola a first class graduate of Accountancy from University of Glasgow Scotland in the 1993 election. A high IQ people who voted for Arthur Nzeribe twice into the Senate after the same Arthur Nzeribe helped the FG import weapons which were used to kill millions of them during the Biafra war. A high IQ people who were initially of the opinion that Peter Obi failed as governor in Anambra but suddenly began to bath him with accolades of performance when it began to appear that he was a serious contender for the post. A high IQ people who have been voting to power as their own governors the likes of Orji Uzor Kalu, Theodore Orji, Ikpeazu (Mr. Kerosene), who all milked dry their state's purses , and worst of all whitewashed Peter Obi who invested state funds into his family business. May God never give me that kind of IQ. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Funny and phoney excuses. Azikiwe did all he did and said all he said in representative capacity on behalf of Igbos who elected him to the federal Parliament of those times. Else how come no single Igbo man is recorded to have publicly tackled him or moved a motion for his recall from that Parliament? If anything, Igbos are actually the herd mentality voting tribes. Check the results of last presidential election and see that Obi won in all the states in his SE Region while voters in the regions of Atiku and Tinubu didn't overwhelmingly vote for them as they each lost at least one of the states in their home regions meaning that in such states their brothers were able to rise above ethnic considerations in making their choices. Again Igbos voted as herd for Jonathan while in all other regions it was split. Likewise for Yaradua. Please you are more needed in romance or comedy section. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Oriental4: You may need to expatiate on the above and cite specific instances if you are to be taken seriously. Oriental4:This is not true. Igbos had always found unity and unanimity in political choices prior to independence and the war. Their choice of NPC-NCNC coalition was unanimous. Their decision to suppress their quest for independence till the North was ready to be part of Nigeria was unanimous. Also their choice to fight and kill secession clause proposal was in unity. And so much more. Oriental4: This is inverted accusation because Igbos by all records in the annals of history were the only actual tools in the hands of the colonial overlords. Please recall that while the political leaders of all other tribes from as far back as 1944 began to describe Nigeria as a British contraption aimed at milking dry the resources of the people native to the area in question, and moving motions to end the British fraud in order to free themselves from the British experiment, only the Igbo leaders kept of chorusing one-Nigeria and declaring that the unity of Nigeria is perpetual and non-negotiable. Ahmadu Bello: What we call Nigeria today is the mistake of 1914 Awolowo: Nigeria is a mere geographical expression and there are no Nigerians in the same sense as there are Germans, French, Britons, etc. Tafawa Balewa: Nigeria is a British experiment and Nigeria unity is a British intention which the people themselves don't believe in. Nnamdi Azikiwe: The unity of Nigeria is perpetual and non-negotiable. We Easterners don't mind paying the ultimate price to keep Nigeria one and intact. From the speeches above and the ethnic group of those who made them, which tribe in Nigeria could be correctly said to be a tool in the hands of the British colonialists back then and even till this moment? Be honest in your response. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Eastlink: So which tribe from the south joined NPC MPs in voting for Balewa in the parliamentary in 1960? Thank God you admit that Igbos shared their votes among NPP and NPN. How does that now change the fact that Shagari whom a part of Igbos voted for was the worst candidate on the ballot in that election? In 1993 Tofa swept Igbo states clean. Google is your friend. You agree you voted for Obasanjo in 1999. Now was Obasanjo the best candidate in the ballot going by the antecedents of all the contestants? In 2007, was Yaradua the best candidate going by all the factors of determination? 2 Likes |

EbinPawaGovt:You have forgotten that by the regional system we started with, each region was autonomous and that autonomy trickled down to the admission policies of the Universities back then and which were each owned by their respective regional governments hence merit solely determined admissions until Aguiyi Ironsi, an Igbo man, came and muddled everything up by introducing centralization by which the subsequent Northerners controlled centralized governments introduced quota system, federal character, catchment area, educationally disadvantaged states, etc policies. chester23:There was once this JW in my working place as a fellow staff. I hardly ever bring up religious debates or even discussion with others. On this fateful day it was this JW guy that brought up the debate about religion. It got to a point where I asked him if he himself as a JW believe every damn thing coming from the Governing body. He replied 'no'. Then I asked him why he however lives by such doctrines he doesn't agree with personally. He said by the rules of the organization an ordinary member is not permitted to question whatever comes from the Governing body. Then I asked him whether Charles Russell their founder would have been able to found the organization if he was not permitted to question the doctrines of the religious group he was born into before he later founded JW. He couldn't answer me. 3 Likes 1 Share |

descarado:That is still part of the wrong perception we are talking about. Christianity didn't come from the West. Ancient Europe did not practice Christianity but worshipped idols. In fact the West too had Christianity come to them from outside the shores of Europe. Christianity also didn't come from the Jews politically as the Jews themselves don't agree with its precepts. The pentecostals' living in Christ like image narrative was what even came to distort the original message of Christ because it made people believe that outward appearance like how Jesus physically appeared in their imagination was more important than the rule of conscience which Jesus emphasized. 2 Likes |

descarado:Christianity is actually not a religion. The assumption that it is a religion is what creates the perception that it evolved from paganism. The word Christianity is derived from an an adjective which describes the lifestyle of Jesus which is all about allowing one's conscience guide one in everything. A religion by definition is a particular way of rules by which God should be worshipped. However, Jesus did not institute any set of rules or code for worshipping God but tried to redirect his followers back to their consciences as their ultimate guide in everything they do in life. And the rule of conscience, if adopted by everyone, will make the world a better place. That is what Christianity is all about. The Bible summarizes this in the Book of Romans where it says that even those who never knew Jesus or had ever heard of him but allowed their consciences to rule their lives were already followers of Jesus. 3 Likes |

rdokoye: The age of Methuselah, the say, has nothing to do with the wisdom of Solomon. If Igbos so much believe in democracy that they had been practising it for years as you claim, then how come the same Igbos were the first to truncate democracy in the history of Nigeria through the senseless January 15 1966 coup by which they shed so much blood of innocent politicians and military officers of other regions save theirs who were actually guilty of the very corruption they cited as the reason for the coup? rdokoye: And the Tafawa Balewa you voted for at a time as critical as independence was the best on the ballot right? He was better than Awolowo and your own very well read Zik who were equally on the ballot right? Then the Feudalist product Shagari whom you voted for in 1979 was the best in an election which your own cerebral Ojukwu contested. Then the barely educated Alhaji Bashir Tofa you voted for in 1993 was the best over MKO a first class Accountancy graduate of the prestigious University of Glasgow? Then the ex-convict Obasanjo whose stint as military HOS contributed immensely to the Nigerian tragedy was was the best candidate over the seasoned and unblemished technocrat Olu Falae who brandished a manifesto that would have industrialized Nigeria within fifteen years? Igboid:Why is it only Igbos that keep adopting every politician as their son? After adopting OBJ for promising to hand over power to an Igbo man but later disappointed you and picked a Fulani man together with an Ijaw man, wasn't that enough for you to stop your stupid adoption of other tribes' sons? You also adopted Yaradua a Fulani man. You think the other five regions are evil and foolish for not ever adopting a candidate not truly from their region? You Igbos are too frivolous and emotional hence always take stupid decisions which when they begin to boomerang, rather than admit your folly, you are resort to victim card play and term all other regions evil people as if there is any form of godliness in your own shortsightedness and frivolity. Continue adopting other regions' candidates and be deluding yourself as being godly. The truth is that Igbos are politically immature and unrealistic. 3 Likes |

DonXavi: You are the victim of moronic plague here. If my tribe had adopted Jonathan as their son despite the fact that they knew he was truly not, then I will blame them for whatever consequences it brings to them. Igbos have a chameleonic attitude and always want to have it both ways. You can't eat your cake and still have it. If I may ask you, which other region apart from the SE called Jonathan their adopted political son? None of them did so because they knew the implication it will have on them in the power equation. Only you Igbos take such short sighted positions on issues and sooner or later it boomerangs and the next thing is victim card play. 1 Like |

VinnyBaba:You obviously weren't following the argument attentively back then. The point being made was that Igbos adopted Jonathan and claimed he was their son hence Igbos were implicitly saying that they were already having their turn in power and should therefore not demand for a turn again until power has gone round all the other five geopolitical zones. 2 Likes |
