For clarifications on ogori origins,the truth is that ogoris cannot exactly tell their exact origins just like say the core Benin people in Benin city can't tell you their exact origins or say the Igbo,even the Yoruba, this is because though ogori is small today,ogori is a root tribe or ethnic group like for example the Benin etc and not a subethnic or derived from any other tribe per say,the tribe of OGORI is oko-( pronounced as OorKor), while their towns of location are ogori and magongo just the way the Yoruba or any other tribe as several towns etc.Ogori/ magongo tribe is oko-.Ogori language as no parent and is not a dialect of any language,so ogori/ oko cannot be said to be a subethnic group like the say the okpameri or Uneme whose language is derived from Benin. or edoid.ogori history is very ancient and complex and no historian as been able to have a full discovery of its exact origins.There are atleast 3 very detailed books on ogori history but non was able to conclude on the exact origins of OGORI.


Now for magongo, magongo is fully and wholly same with OGORI, they are also oko.we are the same people and blood brothers.

Ogori and magongo are composed of a variety of clans,who arrived at different times. All the clans of magongo except for one are extensions from OGORI.This exception clan happens to be the royal clan of magongo today even though they arrived very late in about the early 1700s.This clan led by a powerfulman unagogo( from were the name magongo comes from),due to their late arrival chose to maintain a separate administration.

This clan then had an issue with the leader of OGORI at the time,caused by a daughter of unagogo,who married the then leader of OGORI odeyon.this led to a serious rancour ,unagogo assassinated the odeyon the leader of OGORI then,his brother inlaw,OGORI didn't care much cos the leader odeyon was a ruthless tyrant and they were happy to be done with him.

But unagogo refused to release his head for royal burial,this angered ogori and the clan uduako were driven out of OGORI ,they then went to settle with ebiras at okengwe.

They were there for many years,until the Nupe wars,were they allied with the ebira,to war ogori,ogori was also at war with the Nupes at this time,this disruption allowed them to return close to their previous settlements near the main OGORI ,were they are today,These events of being driven out by ogori and their alliance with ebira created enemity between this clan and the rest of OGORI.

These issues were later resolved and peace agreements settled,some other clans sympathetic to their plight later went to live with them.

But because of this events the magongo royal authority especially still hold that resentment and always tries to claim that they aren't part of the rest of OGORI and do their festivals and other stuffs separately.

This is what makes OGORI and magongo different otherwise they are fully one and same

I am not saying that Igbos are good or flawless, they have their own problems and short comings too. You seen to be oblivious of the fact that Edo South (Bini land) is the most cosmopolitan of the three senatorial districts in Edo State hence there are far more Esans and Afemais in Bini land than there are Binis in these other parts of Edo State. If you put the population of Esans and Afemais together it dwarts that of Binis completely.

OGORI language is not in anyway a dialect of Yoruba,its not even a yoruboid language, it's a stand alone language ( you can Google it), its a full fledged language called oko not related to Yoruba at all.Many modern ogorians like to say it's a dialect of Yoruba to foist on themselves Yoruba identity because they realise we probably have no tribal relations.the claim that ogori is ancestrally from ile-ife is speculative and is probably false.


So here is the thing.
Ogori is a very very ancient tribe and the real origin and background of ogori is in reality largely unknown ,lost or shrouded in secrecy.

But going by some history books written by indigenes one mentioned that OGORI origin started from ile-ife, then they went to Benin,then as far as idomaland then returned after many years through ajaokuta, atte,ikpeshi- then through okpe,entering owo in yorubaland and ikpesi- akoko( yorubaland) before finally going on to settling were they are today.I posit than ile-ife claim is just to give ogori a beginning, but they might actually in reality have started migrating from the jukun/ idomoid area.

The other claims ogori is akokogbangiri,native to its immediate environs(that is part of the aboriginal Akoko-edo groups).

From the above summaries,my conclusions being a native is that the first OGORIs( because ogori has an older clan which are acclaimed as the host group) are actually aboriginal,an autochonos group indigenous to Akoko-edo, igbirra zone,and were among the first ancient settlers there,along with the uneme (before the main stock of igbirra and Benin migrants), then they were later joined by migrating stock from the east (probably a somewhat igbirra/jukunoid stock- though ogorians deny any relationship with the igbirra) ,before the arrivals of Benin migrants to the zone.

It will interest you to note that,many of the okpameri towns actually have aboriginal roots from ogori,eg somorika/ semolika and onumu are originally from ogori before they were joined by Benin stock,bekuma( otase and ubelen) are also originally ogori clans,lampese also has ogori groups( akusumeme),ogori clans are also present in ososo( the ani,which is recognised in ososo has the oldest clan),they are also in makeke and ojah( these one migrated to ojah,they aren't aborigines),ekpe are also aboriginally part of OGORI

While I might still need more clarifications on the origins of Ogori as a people, I would also like to be educated on the Magongo connection with Ogori in the sense of who exactly Magongo people are and where they migrated from. Seems you have forgotten that from 2015 to 2022 the same Reno Omokri did countless write ups trying to bait all other tribes in Nigeria against Yorubas and Hausafulanis just because his preferred candidate Jonathan lost the election in 2015 and that those baitings endeared him to Igbos so much that they practically hero worshipped him. But now that he feels that the failure of his preferred candidate Atiku in the last election was caused by the division of PDP votes by Peter Obi and his Igbo brothers who gave him bloc SE votes, he turned his weapon of ethnic profiling away from Yorubas and Hausafulanis towards Igbos but Igbos are now sad towards him. Ask your dad. You might not have been born before 2006 when Obasanjo govt's National Political Reforms Conference took place. The conference was abandoned towards the end because the SW and North delegates refused the small increase in percentage for derivation for oil producing areas.

I am actually older than you. If anything, Obasanjo scuttled all attempts to hold such a conference. Obasanjo is a one Nigerianist hence believes in the status quo and that was why the North preferred him in 1999. His conference was a parallel one aimed at removing steam from the one which the civil society was trying to convene. Go back and do your research very well.

My brother, the this Yaradua thing remains a puzzle to me. I have tried and tried to see exactly how Yaradua was different from the rest but can't still see it. I have no doubt that if Abacha had spent only three months in Aso Rock and died, he too would have been said to be Nigeria's best and most honest president whom death and the forces against a prosperous Nigeria snatched away. Remember that Murtala Mohamed spent about six months in office and he is adjuded as as the man who would have changed Nigeria despite the evils he committed before and while in office.
I recall that when the victory of Segun Oni of Ekiti State was annulled by the Appeal Court and a rerun ordered, Yaradua went to Ekiti to campaign for him and in the process raised Segun Oni's hand and declared that he would be the first governor to spend more than eight years in office obviously in the calculation that he would win through rigging and be resworn in for two more terms in addition to the two years he had already spent in power before the court annulment. That was before the constitution was amended that such reelected governors' terms would belly the time spent before annulment of their Victories. A president who was building an expectation on a constitutional error is who some folks celebrate today as honest and well intentioned. The same Yaradua who was first to sign into law the Shariah code of conduct as Katsina governor despite the constitution declaring Nigeria a secular state. The same Yaradua ordered the second Niger Delta massacre of innocent civilians this time in Oporoza, Delta State is whom people term a saint. It is clear that the average Nigerian does not base his opinion on facts and reason once it comes to political conversations.

Ojukwu did not really foresee that Nigeria would never work. He only later realized that fact as an afterthought when Ironsi was overthrown and killed. Those who genuinely foresaw that Nigeria would never work were Tafawa Balewa, Awolowo, Ahmadu Bello and Anthony Enahoro and they therefore asked for secession clause at different times far before independence. Ojukwu and Zik on the other hand were busy chanting one-Nigeria and arguing that the unity of Nigeria was perpetual and nonnegotiable.
