Family › Re: Guys Can You Marry A Single Mum? :-\ by dean2725: 3:58am On Jul 15, 2009 |
Whome: I have to respond because I get so offended by these kinds of threads.
My story is this I had on child out of wedlock but was in the relationship for a long while with the man. He said he loved me and wanted us to be together for life but he started seeing other people on the side. I didn't want to put up with the behavior so I broke it off only to find out I was pregnant afterwards.
I stayed a single mom till my daughter was two years old. I met someone we dated for almost a year and we finally married. I had a son but after my son was born my husband became abusive. I did not want my children in this environment and I divorced. Again I stayed single until my son was three years old and I met someone who lived overseas through a good friend of mine and we dated for 2 years. We finally got married and had a son. My current husband turned out to be a total liar and schemer and now I am headed for divorce again.
My first husband was good at first but later started hanging with the wrong kinds of people and smoking weed and being abusive. My second husband was a liar and a con. I have not slept around. I have never had one abortion in my life and I was a good wife and mother who always tried to be supportive of my husband and am supportive of my children. I have my own business although some days its good and other days not so but I am trying and I support my children well. Everything I have goes first to them and I get for myself when I can. I am not bragging but asking everyone here that had something negative to say about single mothrs, WHAT OF MY OWN?
If I never meet anyone I am prepared for raising my children alone but why should I be condemned for being a good woman who unfortunately met not so good men. I didn't rush into marriage with them and I was not pregnant when we got married so it was not a marriage of force. But why should I still be looked down upon just because I have children. Wont their fathers go on and marry again and have relationships? If i being single the rest of my life should be my fate then shouldn't whats good for the goose be good for the gander? Sad if that is the way it is! am sorry m'am |

slimfine: dude you were looking for advice and you didn't say who you needed it from. It is quite insulting to tell single people to shut up just becuase their advices were not suitable for you and your situation. people have opinions and is up to you to take it or leave it whether it came from a married person or not. And why didn't you think all women should go to hell when you were cheating on your wife with them? abeg comot joo, It is not the advise that is important sometime but the way and manner you advise. Sometimes it tells if your advise needs to be taking serious or not. It helps in calculating ur age too It is not a must to talk or advise. even though it helps in ur post count, it is still unnecessary cos u wont be giving medals for million post count. DAMN!! For singles, you dont know what it takes to be married, so when married people are talking, stay quiet, try and digest what they are discussing and learn from it, rather than criticize Said it again. however am damn sure he is not refering to u so no need to feel insulted |

Aloy.Emeka: “We were shut in a small room and we were surrounded with mad people. At daytime, it was usually a bit quieter but in the night, that was their day. Nobody could sleep. They would be hitting their doors, scratching and shouting. When I saw this, I sat back to say ‘so, this is life.’ I was naked. This was an executive governor that was so respected with the paraphernalia of office. Anything you wanted, you got it done. You had the power of life and death. But within a twinkle of an eye, you were in that position sleeping on the bare floor. Any reasonable person would sit down and reflect,” he said. Am damn sure that wont deter him from looting from public money if ever have the chance to be in power again. It's in the boold! |

@ poster are you sure ur cousin has not done something bad to hurt him in the past. sometime will hurt people without knowing it and it can be worse if the victim doesnt open up. however, if this is not the case, it i suggest u tell ur cousin to go spiritual. go to pastor or something and let her talk to God on her own personally. that still fail??. . .then she needs not only run but flee. marriage is to enjoy not to endure, even if there is need to endure, i think 5yrs can be too much without any sight of changes in future. |

PeeDaVinci: Although i am totally against the sale of children based on my moral and religious upbringing, but, let us just view the case from an opposite angle : is there any law against sale of children (inasmuch as you are not selling them to be abused e.g for prostitution and child labour), you are selling the child to a good family so that the child can have a better life. This is very similar (more or less ) to what is done in orphanage, but they dont just tagged it with "child sale". Selling a child into a good family should be normal. extending the argument to an extreme case is the issue of surrogate parents, sperm donors, ovary donors - this is the sale of life too in one form of the other, as it is with the sale of children.
Let me state again, the views expreseed above arre not my personal views ( a lawyer will plead a case he doesnt believe in some times, and this is what im doing) Thats a good argument there! |

muhsin: A woman, Ijeoma Emeto, who allegedly sold her two weeks old daughter for N15, 000 has been arrested by the police in Abuja.
The Area Commander (Metro), Federal Capital Territory Police Command, Assistant Commissioner of Police Sunday Odukoya said Ijeoma Emeto of Mpape Village sold the baby to one Patience Donatus Ejioku a week after her birth. He said the baby was later given to one Jessinta Ekoma who connived with her husband Vincent Ekoma and took the baby to one Juliana Ekoma in Owerri Imo State. He said a team of police officers led by Superintendent Aisha recovered the baby in Owerri.
“We were informed that the baby could not be found with her mother few days after birth and when we investigated we discovered how the baby was sold. Police would not know the motive behind selling the baby until after investigation. All the suspects have been arrested apart from Juliana Ekoma who is on the run,” he said.
He said Emota who has two other children is in police custody with her accomplices. He said all the children are under the care of the police as she is a single mother.
Emota said when she found that the baby was ill and she could not be able to settle her medical bills she took her to Donatus for care. “I too was unwell and Dotatus gave me N15, 000 for my medical expenses. We met in the church,” she said.
Jessinta said Ejioku complained to her that she could not take care of the baby, so she collected her and gave her sister in law (Juliana) in Owerri. “Juliana has not given birth and was looking for a baby,” she said.
http://www.news.dailytrust.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2533:mother-sells-daughter-for-n15000&catid=46:lead-stories&Itemid=140 The woman might not probably intentd to sell the child. The topic of the thread might be convincing |
