segbas: @ Idileke1
Sorry for your denial, I will advise you to work on the reason for your denial, from your post so far on this forum, you have applied twice, and being denied, this is the third time. the first time, you lied about been pregnant and which is obvious according to you, and you said you are going to attend a wedding, secondly you are also been denied based on that you lied in your first application, and then you are going to attend a church conference in US with your family, from my own little knowledge it should be a group application since is a church program or never the less.
this time around you showed yourself of been desperate (sorry oo, dts how I see it,) by paying all your bills, and going by your past records, its shows desperation...
What I will advise now is that, plan very well, correct your mistakes, chance your hospital and get a doctor letter, and PRAY very well for God favor. Also you said your sister in-law told you about the hospital, which means, you never did any research or findings about the hospital..
please I pray for God Favour for you this time around..... Plan and Pray very well.
God Bless You. Amen Also she was advised by people in this forum not to make payments as this might show some sign of desperation and also when she re-applies she should use Abuja. Unfortunately she did not yield to advice. My point.... people come here ask for advice on this thread you are told what to do, you go back and do what you feel like doing, things don't work out well, you come back again for advice........SMH..... Am thinking now should she actually re-apply again now, I know WITH GOD NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE but.....................(am still thinking) |

Newmum0615: Dear friends,
Join me in praising the Almighty God!!! My visa was approved this morning. The issue of my hubby's green card didn't come up at all. I made sure I was interviewed by a man. Kept dodging in the queue till a guy was free. Didn't want to deal with all those frowning women I saw there. I will post the interview transcript once I settle down in the office. I am still overwhelmed with joy Congrats dear, Happy for you. |

Safe delivery to her and you take it easy ok? Exactly!!!! |

Phema: So sorry for your ordeal. That was awful. Were you pregnant during your visa interview? If yes, what did you tell the VO was your purpose of going to the States? Did you travel with enough cash and did you make proper hospital arrangements? My dear if you read this guys posts on this thread you already have the answers to this question (I just did). So many up's and down's with their entry and stay in the US. Its obvious why he was treated this way. People need to be careful, do the right thing to avoid such an odeal. Its so sad people jump into doing things without reading this thread carefully, learning and doing the right thing. IF YOU ARE NEW TO THIS THREAD MY ADVISE READ FROM GENESIS TO REVELATION, YOU WILL SURELY MAKE YOUR PROMISE LAND |

woaini: Personal travel allowance. U get that from a. Bank. It's usually within CBN rate. Even when dollar rose to above 225 PTA was btw 197-200. The challenge is that as an individual account holder u can only get 4k while a corporate account holder gets 5k. Not all banks give this service though so find out from yours or open an account with the ones that do. @Woaini what bank did you buy PTA from, or please who can help with names of banks that sell PTA at good rates. Thanks my ladies. |

isysleek: You can pay your bills/shop online and via pos as long as you don't exceed $50,000 a year.
If you want to use atm to withdraw cash, den you can only withdraw $300 in a day.
It's the new cbn directive for all banks. Yeah but you can't pay a bill that is over $300 online or via POS per day that is the main problem its just annoying, Imagine you go to shop and just an item cost $400 how do you want to pay for that, that of the don't exceed $50,000 a year is fine by me. Any way my plan is hold cash and go with like 3 master cards simple. |

Bobbydorey: Hello nairalanders, Pls I need help on finding good n cheap hospital to have my baby in tennesse, Nashville as it's the only state I have a host. Also want to seek opinion about my plans. During the interview at the embassy we were asked reason for our visit to us and we said easter holiday wasn't asked if I was expecting though but we were asked of possible plan to av baby there and we said no. When we got home we realised that wasn't a good one as I was expecting and later gave it a thot the idea wasn't bad at all. We went for our holiday, got to POE and we were asked reason for entry and we said holiday, was also asked if I was expecting and I said yes so the officer stamped my husband and baby and told me to step saside and I was taken into an office where I was asked for my purpose of visit, aw many weeks am I, where I was going to and aw much I had for the visit. The officer told me if I had my baby on that trip that the consequence is denying me entry into the country subsequently. Told him my family is on holiday but I would love to come and av my baby later on, he stated that he will note all our discussions for future reference and I agreed and emphasised on coming back to av my baby. He stamped my passport and released me. Pls what do you think.?? My dear make sure you leave the US and return back to have your baby, When you go back to your country of residence (from where you applied for your visa) write a letter of Change of intent to the embassy, in your letter make sure you state you have gone for your holiday and now intend to go have your baby there. Make all arrangements by having your doc's appointment and finance ready for proof just incase you are called upon. |

modath: I don't know if it will be of any help but Stanbic charged 199.5 for the transaction i did yesterday. As for the ticket try Airfrance/KLM...i booked Turkish Airlines but I'm going to chicago and they had the best price from Abuja. Dollar black market is 205 as of today I just confirmed it, so annoying to get a mail from GTB saying, daily cash withdrawal limit for the Naira MasterCard has also been reduced to $300 per day. The new limits for both spending using Naira MasterCard and cash withdrawal abroad has been reduced from $2,500 to $300 per day. This is crazy, this is not good at all, imagine one has to pay her medical bills, GTB ATM won't work anymore. Please can anyone confirm this new development on GTBank Mastercard or any other bank Mastercards heard is CBN new policy. If this is true it means we are better off traveling with cash and means we have to start looking for dollar to buy. |

nefertitiram: Infact, I know of a preggie that was also turned back from Houston 2 weeks ago.
I couldn't ask for details because we are not very familiar, she only came to drop off somethings for me to take to her relative in US. My question is why were they sent back, cos they could have been sent back for the same reason irrespective of the POE they used. We all know some of the reasons why one can be sent back for if not properly handled. We all know Houston POE are harsh, I just wanna know if they have come up with some other reasons. As for meeting an angry person that day, such people won't be at work the day I will arrive |

Wat I knw is dey always delay preggies and may finally let you in . Personally, I ws nt ready to experience any of such avin read tru oda people's experience on dis thread. Jst avoid houston, chicago and atlanta. Any oda place shld be fine. Like I said, your case might be different bt honestly I wasn't ready for the gamble. Thanks dear, Re-routing my ticket isn't an option now, its like buying a fresh ticket, tickets are high now, Am trusting God for his divine favour as he has always granted me. No one really can predict her fate bt it's advisable to completely avoid it if possible. Thanks Feddy27 for your reply, but if I may ask why was your friend sent back, and why was the other stamped in for 2 weeks. Am asking so I know to help me better decide. So far I have had a good conversation with her staff. They specifically told me they reply to mails on tuesday and thursdays, thats the way they work and I understand. So far they have responded to my mails promptly on those days. Reading all theses reviews got me worried, but my hubby said one thing how true are these reviews, one mans meat is another man's poison, you know how foreign people like to give reviews of people and products, he insist I use her and pray for a positive experience with her. |

smileymum: Good day mums and dads here.
I stumbled on this thread on Tuesday two days ago after I had a nasty experience during my visa interview in Lagos last week that has left me demoralised. Someone advised that I could ask some questions here so that I know how to understand if there was anything I did wrong. I have been silently reading and I must say you guys hold a lot of info here. Maybe I would have gotten some tips if I seen this platform earlier. I had a 7.30 am interview on Thursday the 19th of this month. I made it there on time, got on the queue with all my documents. Through a colleague My dear, you did nothing wrong. You just met with the wrong person. My advice, get another hospital and doctor's quote/correspondence around the same amount you have(if possible 2)(you can use MIHS and WHMC) you might not need to get an appointment, stick to what you have since you have already made some commitments so you can let the VO know you have made more research and the quotes are close. Pray and trust God and then re-apply. Was gonna say why have so many bank (3 right?) accounts, some times that annoys VO and to them something might be fishy. My thinking Can you have your cash in just one of your accounts and also go with your husbands account statement then you have 2 account statements with all your total cash in it to present. But then again am thinking would they ask why you moved cash recently, what would you answer (the last VO wasn't too happy of your many account statements so you decided to move your cash to one account as the fund will show that anyway). Please ask the house if you could do that or still go with all your account statements. |

Hello my people am back with another question, My Doc has given me a date for appointment via email, Is that email sufficient to be presented at POE if asked for an appointment letter or Do I need a proper letter to use at POE. My Dr. says if I require a letter to obtain entry to the US, I will be charged a fee but If I meet the appointment, the fee will be part of my total OB fee, if I don't it will be none refundable. I intend to use the Doctor, Do I request for the letter and pay fee or I use the email that already states my appointment date. Please I need answers. Thanks again. |

favored247: Hi moms to be, this is my first post on nairaland as i am also a first timer. I didnt know one could write a letter to the embassy for change of intent of travel plans. I had my visa interview in oct 2014 n was asked by the v.o my intent of travel.told vo for vacation.she asked if i was planning on giving birth , i said if it comes. The vo then said if i was,i shouldnt apply for memedicaidr any govt aid.i said sure That i would be responsible For any payment then.she gives me a 2yrs visa.At poe in houston in jan, the immigration officers asked my duration of stay, hubby says 3months..n he gave me 6months without asking if i was for delivery blah blah....my question is will this affect me when im coming back to the usa or when i want to apply for another visa cos im like if i knew about the letter stuff i would have notified the embassy prior travel.I would greatly appreciate responses. It will not affect you when applying for another visa or coming back to the US but please keep all your proof of payments (reciepts) and get a Zero balance letter from the hospital so you can present that when required to show you paid all your bills and you will be fine. |
