I don't know how much you're earning, but do you know that if you earn 250k a month for the next 40 years without spending a dime out of it, it will amount to N120M, and you won't even be able to afford a Nigeria used Bugatti. And I know a person on the internet that have 30 Bugatti and isn't even 40 years old yet. Smiles. I'll keep my identity, projects and abilities to myself, but this sum is nothing to me. Even the entire thirty What's most.important is that I don't need all of this to be happy. I only need myself to be happy. So I've mastered myself |

Afromentalist: I have lived in different cities in Germany. I have never experienced any kind of racism. I mingle with top society Germans on a daily basis, nothing as such.
I know Aachen, I always felt at peace there. I lived in small cities such as Babenhausen, Hofheim, Sarstedt, Peine, etc.
Germany is one of the best country in this earth. Don't believe whatever people write online to justify their own misadventures. I still feel the vibe about not liking Germany as a country to live in even through your comments. Btw, when I make judgements on societal issues, I do it not based on the livelihood of the top tier but the bottom pole. I'll pass. Rather head for Spain, UK, Sweden, Holland etc |

sukkot: brotherly, as humans what we consider as suffering is not static. It changes over time with different circumstances. Right now living in naija suffering to you is no light and bad roads and no jobs and bad infrastructure. You want to japa to enjoy those things. After you japa, after a few years your idea of suffering changes to water bills, light bills, council tax, heavy taxation, bad weather, tiny apartment, crazy car insurance price, racism, not feeling like you belong, inability to save anything because of heavy billing etc etc. Then you stArt missing the simplicity of home with no bills. You generate your own water and light and houSe is paid for and no council tax, and buka food everywhere and everybody looks like you and you feel like you belong etc etc. All the things you used to complain about seem like no big deal anymore aka bad roads and light issue. You are missing home but now you are stuck in London forever because you can never eArn enough to relocate back home again because of heavy billing unless you are just one of the lucky few who is like an IT guru earning good money. And so depression sets in . That's the life of the average Londoner . Stuck. Can't move back and can't move forward .
Copy and paste this my reply into that thread brotherly
Some parts of Germany are good. Munich etc Good. I needed to hear this cause I sacrificed moving over to build businesses first for sustainance and then retirement |

Well I am back in Nigeria too and ermm it's not perfect but if you know how to package your life it's actuality not too bad. Am loving it so far but only because I don't have a job here. I reckon it would be hell if I had a job. I try to hustle online remotely Nice to have some people with back and forth travel experiences on the thread. Brotherly, how do you see the idea on a sister thread about Nigerians complaining about not having a good life over there and the prospect of having a better life here This thread precisely https://www.nairaland.com/7738556/nigerians-uk-really-sufferingBtw, I won't stay in Germany even if I'm paid 2 M per month just to live in the country. |

okewumi: Thank you for your writeup. Who do you think those in abroad run to ? I observed we waste alot of time in Nigeria doing nothing. Raining season has started in Nigeria, instead to start small farming at their backyard, they will not. Every body want to be in city (Lagos, PH, Abuja ) by force.
If a Naira is equal to a dollar, most people will run back to Nigeria (Note: Most in abroad doesn't have work Permit but they do send money because of Naira to dollar). It is not easy also in abroad. I only attended church once and others are online because l need to go to work so as to pay bill. But in Nigeria, most will be in church or mosque from morning till evening expecting free money during the week. Some may feel blablablu on gaming. When l was in ede, Osogbo, l farm. Also in ibadan. I did small farming in last year that carter for my family. God bless you. You're wise man |

Yankee101: Sis sissy is not the problem Here in the US we subsidize agriculture I’m sure you’ve heard of farmers pouring maize into the ocean
The management of the economy is the problem The price of constructing a KM of road in nigeria is one of the most expensive in the world. Yet the labor is among the lowest paid in the world. There was a reason subsidy was introduced in the first place. So Nigeria’s prboblem is not subsidy but mismanagement Farmers pouring maize in the ocean. Interesting. But why would they do this ? |

staga: Oil sold for $140 during the Libyan war. Diezani and all the corrupt people in Jonathan's govt took all the money. All the Abacha loot was shared to state governments. No impact. Ecological fund shared to states, only 6 states have given some kind of account on what they used the money for. Paris Club refund was shared to states, and we were hearing all kinds of stories of how one governor's mistress took that money and disappeared.
Loans taken, left right and centre, including the latest $800m which they say is to share to poor households. Who are these people the so-called social register, if not thousands of fictitious names? Did former VP ever take up the challenge to defend the list with proof of life or existence of the people in it? Or is it in one state where we heard that non-existent schools were part of the school feeding program?
Naija na real cesspool and no government can change anything. You are a liar. Nigeria isn't like that that money can just be funneled away just the way you're making it sound. You're a hater of people Discuss matters objectively I trade forex for years. Oil was never stable at $140. Even when it sold at $100, how much were you guys paying on subsidy ? Did the nation have any developmental enterprise that could have been expanded ? Nigeria was founded unpon a foundation of failure. It can't be pinned on just a administration while the others are left out. Please while GEJ could have ameliorated some national projects to correct some of these errors. Please what did Obasanjo, Yard Adua or Buhari do to correct it ? It's hypocrisy to single out Jonathan |

Leebeedo: @ OP, I live overseas and best believe, I work round the clock to make ends meet because of responsibilities from family and friends in Nigeria. I used to be a university lecturer in Nigeria but God bless the day I took the drastic decision to leave that country that has ruined so many lives. How can a university lecturer, PhD holder beg to feed his family? Since I left Nigeria in 2012, no salary increase with hyperinflation. A PhD holder in a Nigerian university now earns around 160k/month and thats like $200. How much is a bag of rice? Nigerians living overseas had high hopes in this last election because the responsibilities of sending money back home was unbearable and it seems it will get worse with this new administration. This is what happens when you give recycled and habitual thieves access power. Thanks for your good heart. Please keep supporting them. The country is in sever turmoil but just without fights. It's already a war like situation |
