Do they? Wow? Just like every other oil producing (and a load of non-oil producing) nations? Amazing!!! The Libyans do something that every other country in the world does as well. And that makes it special does it? LOL. Quick!! Libyans breathe air as well. That must make them a target too. As usual, you are desperately reaching into the realms of fantasy again.
Every time cap28 opens his mouth, he makes Libya under Gaddafi to be some kind of Utopian paradise. He claims that Gadaffi made it a rich, wealthy nation.
Yeah, sure it's rich compared to sub-Saharan Africa but when you realise that it should be compared to the Gulf States and not nations like Nigeria, Ghanan, Kenya, etc, you discover just how badly Gadaffi has screwed his people. It's a small population with (according to cap28) vast oil reserves. Where is the money? Why haven't the people of Libya got it? Why aren't they living like the Arabs in the Gulf? The Saudis? The Kuwaitis? The UAE? Answer: because Gaddafi has stolen just about everything except for the few bones he throws to the people.
Look at unemployment for example: it's over 30%. For the young, it's nearer double that. cap28 burbles on about Libyans owning their own houses, there being no private landlords and no homeless. Just like all of the rest of the dross that he utters, that's completely and utterly untrue. But even if it were true (which it is not), what good is a house if you can't afford to live in it because you have no job?
cap28 will keep spewing his lies about the people of Libya being traitors, scum, etc. He ignores the fact that the second largest city - Benghazi - is totally against Gaddafi and he tars every person living there (what a scumbag). He's nothing but a mouthpiece for his boyfriend Muammer.
His whole argument is based on racism. It's an argument of ignorance and hatred. He uses twisted facts to try to back that racism and ignorance up. He fails on every count.
The Libyan economy depends primarily upon revenues from the oil sector, which constitute practically all export earnings and about one-quarter of gross domestic product (GDP). The discovery of the oil and natural gas reserves in the country in 1959 led to the transformation of Libya's economy from a poor country to (then) Africa's richest. The World Bank defines Libya as an 'Upper Middle Income Economy', along with only seven other African countries.[168] In the early 1980s, Libya was one of the wealthiest countries in the world; its GDP per capita was higher than that of developed countries such as Italy, Singapore, South Korea, Spain and New Zealand.[169]
Today, high oil revenues and a small population give Libya one of the highest GDPs per capita in Africa and have allowed the Libyan state to provide an extensive level of social security, particularly in the fields of housing and education.[170]
Climatic conditions and poor soils severely limit agricultural output, and Libya imports about 75% of its food.[172] Water is also a problem, with some 28% of the population not having access to safe drinking water in 2000.[176] The Great Manmade River project is tapping into vast underground aquifers of fresh water discovered during the quest for oil, and is intended to improve the country's agricultural output.
Libya has begun some market-oriented reforms. Initial steps have included applying for membership of the World Trade Organization, reducing subsidies, and announcing plans for privatisation.[174] Authorities have privatised more than 100 government owned companies since 2003 in industries including oil refining, tourism and real estate, of which 29 are 100% foreign owned.[175] The non-oil manufacturing and construction sectors, which account for about 20% of GDP, have expanded from processing mostly agricultural products to include the production of petrochemicals, iron, steel and aluminum. *********************************************
Dude you need to chill with the hating and get some hard facts instead to support your points
No wonder the Devil hates Africa and Africans with a Passion, When the devil wanted to kill Jesus where did God the Father Tell Jesus Step Dad to take Jesus to Chill for some Years? AFRICA!!!
Sun of god: The West Versus China: A New Cold War Begins on Libyan Soil
One only has to read the strategic briefings in U.S. AFRICOM documents to realise the true endgame in Libya: the control of valuable resources and the eviction of China from North Africa.
This new war centres around one single issue- natural resources. The capture and control of the world’s remaining resources and energy supplies will be the theme which will govern- and literally fuel, all major conflicts in the 21st century. It will be fought through numerous proxies, and on far-flung pitches across the globe but it will never be spoken of by the White House Press Secretary or the Foreign Office in Downing Street.
INSURGENTS NOT PROTESTORS
The great PR spin trick in the run-up to NATO’s carpet bombing run in Libya was the West’s ability to characterise Libya’s violent armed gangs as mere protestors. The average American, British or French media consumer equated the Libyan uprising with those previously in Tunisia and Egypt. The reality of course was that they were anything but.
Mariory: What the hell has this got to do with what I said? And are these thugs the same people receiving his bombs in Misrata? I see your entire comprehension is still based on the premise of the 'west is evil' from your location in the west.
Open that box you live in a little wider and you will find that I have made no such claim.
Dude you need to really scrutinize your sources on this issue. I have spoken with Lecturers, Oil workers and also Nigerians that have left Libya due to the present crises. And what i am getting from them (Europeans, African, Asian people etc) is totally different feedback than what the main stream news is saying.
olas2u: That is the way you see things from your own angle. The recession as created a new way of thinking and you need to get it.The future is now resource based and the way to locate the resource is indirect or direct take over.In Nigeria the multinationals control things with shell leading the pack, become a senator or government official in Nigeria and starts seeing money you never worked for in your account from multinationals who want to you go against anything that will help your country create jobs for your people but what will benefit them and there country. They can change your government if they want.Libya never allowed some of the things we allowed in our country. Its oil company is better placed that NNPC.
CO-SIGN Dude! i Agree with the Bolded Point 100% as i know people in MNC Oil companies in Nigeria that can confirm what you say, thanks for pointing that out!!!
cap28: you dont even understand the meaning of democracy - democracy is govt for the people by the people - libya operates a jamahiriya which means a govt of the masses for the masses, gadaffi abolished the rights of landlords to charge rent for their properties this means that everyone in libya owns their own home, no-one is held to ransom by shylock private landlords or banks as is the case in the western nations, there are no homeless people in libya, do you prefer that the libyan people adopt what you myopically think is democracy - you live in democratic nigeria where 80% of the population live on less than $2 a day, whereas libyans henjoy the highest standard of living in the whole of africa, you live in so called democratic nigeria where life expectancy is 48 yrs whereas life expectancy in libya is 74 years, it makes me wonder how you can even criticise libya when your own so called democratic nation is in such a shambles.
THANKS A MILLION CAP28 for this point in Bold a Lecturer friend that was out in Libya before coming back to London because of the "Present Crises" told me this also.
But if anyone doubts this, let he/she come here and make noise and i will just give you the lecturers email and you can ask him lol!!!
Some people think we just chat "off the top of our heads" lol,
do u know on the bbc news this evng they reported that the people of misurata had taken up arms against gadaffi's forces not the rebel forces - they showed pictures of young children who had been hit by shrapnel and bullets and the bbc claimed that this was caused by gaddaffi's forces not the rebels, they showed pictures of these children's parents raging and swearing revenge on gadaffi's forces, so in actual fact the residents of misurata are actually against the rebels then?
The resident in the "so-called" occupied area's aretired of being bogged down and hemmed in by the rebels!!!
When you cant senf you chilfdren to school and you have no suppliesof food and water, i dont care what cause the so-called rebels are fighting for, people will get angry and ask you to leave. That why the west was calling for a "no drive zone" lol!!!
iice: Lmao @ online dating is the way to go. What works for you, works for you. Like Rokiatu said, you can find someone anywhere. Personally no. . .i'm more of the traditional dating type. I get a sense of someone better when i'm face to face. Aura cannot be hidden.
True what you said, but i may add that when i meet people online i still tell them that we should meet at a social physicall gathering so i get to know the person better and i also keep in mind what they have said online and weigh it against their actual real persona face-2face.
As i said before you can meet 10 people online and in the next couple of weeks meet all 10 of them for "tea/coffee" or a chat @ a bar, joint etc to become friends and know within 3 minutes if it can be taken further or not,
Meeting someone online for strictly for romance /marriage is no different from meeting someone at a library, school, church etc. The truth about online dating is that you have to eventually meet the person physically and become friends first
Its always comes down to face-2-face contact no matter how you look at it.
So those that are looking at meeting someone online with the intent of marriage should 1st build a friendship with the person without discussing relationship as this just puts unnessary pressure on yourselves.
I guess no matter how you look at it. if you meet someone online you have to eventually meet them in person so i guess online contact is just like the Phone or meeting at a party or other social gathering, just that meeting online is a quicker way to "breaking the ice" in approaching people.
There are reports coming in from the rebel held town of Musarata in Eastern Libya that the towns people have started to fight against the rebels as they are tired of not having access to Electricity and clean water, lol!
I guess the rebels or these hired gun-hands popularity is running thin!!! lol
morpheus24: Picture spamming Propaganda at its best.
Kofi Annan is married to a white lady as well. I guess he's a traitor to Ghana and Africa as well.
You rubbish is appealing to simple minded folk.
I expect better from guys like you Morpheus, please research the so-called President elect wife dealing before posting here, Comments based on surface knowledge is meaningless,
vladimiros: how some people are brining neo -colonialism is just not-so-smart honest,
the French have always protected their colonies or ex cus maybe they see it as a responsibility
do you know what would happen if UN forces had no French choppers there?
or if Gbagbo stayed.?
what Ivory Coast needs is stability and taking that animal laurent out is a good 1st step, and tell me would the voriens have done it by themselves?
i hate when people start saying neo-colonialism when a Foreign nation intervenes in something or helps
Dude you are a muppet!, see the bolded part, i guess you are living on another planet and flew in on your space-ship, dont come here and chat bullsh***
look at the bolded part i have made from you statement,
seguno2: If you mean Jezebel because she is white, Gbagbo's first wife was also a white French lady and his son a half-caste is shown in the picture here:
seguno2 link=topic=644107.msg8103642#msg8103642 date=1302544028: If you mean Jezebel because she is white, Gbagbo's first wife was also a white French lady and his son a half-caste is shown in the picture here:

Segun go and read up about Ouattara's wife before posting here, the devil is in the details
Joe50: old man for that matter; what's he doing with power
What he doing in power? He is ruling his country lol!,
Anyway a precedent has been set here, which is -
WHEN A BLACK AFRICAN RUNS FOR ELECTION IN AN AFRICAN COUNTRY AND HE IS A FORMER EMPLOYEE ON THE INTERNATIONAL BANKING SYSTEM, MARRIED TO A WHITE WOMAN AND HIS LOSES OR IS DENIED ACCESS TO AN ELCECTION THAT HE PUPPORTS TO HAVE WON HE WILL BE INSTALLED BY FORCE BY HIS FOREIGN BACKERS
Donmeca: Very interesting piece of news here. . .I'm very happy. Pls when will Ghadafi fall?
You seem to be an Ignorant of the wider plan, this is not good news, and you are asking when will Ghadafi fall, lol! u aiight serious, you masters ie the USA/EU have told the AU to begg Ghadafi to settle for a compromise, Ghadafi is no Bit*** AND the Libyan people aiight fools,
chillbabe: Not a Gbagbo fain though but no matter how well we try to sugar coat it in justifying the involvement of the French in IVory coast, this is neo-colonialism in its purest of forms.
They must be itching and waiting for an opportunity to storm Nigeria at the slightest all in the name of safeguarding a former colony fro "disintegration"and also to prove to the french that they are also still in control over their former colonies as well. My only hope is that our so called leaders see through these farces. My personal opinion
Nigeria will not be easy to recolonise openly, for obvious reasons,
Only The People in Ivory Coast "in the Know" know the kind of Economic sapping they are going to endure under this "Alassane Ouattara" of a guy. I know that Most African leaders do not have the act together but the french did what they did because of the obvious gains they are going to make based on the picture below,
IVORY COAST BEHOLD YOUR "SO CALLED" PRESIDENT ELECT AND HIS JEZEBEL FIRST LADY!!![
harakiri: Like i said earlier, it all boils down to poverty of the mind and pocket. If Nigeria was a country were there was social security, security of life and property, government intervention for down trodden people and SOS projects. . .all these scammers called "men of god" would be put out of business. Isn't it a disgrace that there is barely an street in Lagos without a least 2 churches excluding house fellowships (VGC might be excluded. . .lol). Even the "white man" who brought this religion to Africa as a means of controlling the minds of the people and stamping down their authority in the land DON'T take the religion as serious as we do. Nigeria easily passes as the most religious country in the world and yet. . .we are the most cruel, uncaring, vile, biased, dishonest, distrustful and wicked to our fellow human beings. Sunday to Sunday, people jump up and down in church and nod their heads like Agama lizards to everything their "man of god" says and after which, they are back to their everyday wicked lives. ALL our leaders are religious people (Christians and Moslems alike). Does that stop them from looting government funds on a daily basis to the extent this country has been brought to it's knees? People wed in church every weekend and take "sacred vows". Does that stop them from cheating on each other and making each other's lives totally unbearable? Nigeria is the only country in the world where you'll see people giving testimony of their "god's" blessing in their lives by getting awarded with GOVERNMENT CONTRACT! Everybody in Nigeria already knows that what the person is happy for is that he/she has been given the opportunity to loot their own share of the "national cake" and you'll see everyone (including their "man of god" rejoicing and giving "thanks". Nigeria is the only country in the world where you'll see people giving testimony that they've finally been given visa to travel to Malaysia,Singapore,Libya,Morocco,South Africa or Taiwan! Isn't it a big disgrace?
Once more like i said earlier, it all boils down to poverty of the mind and pocket.
Nuff said! ! !
YOOOOOO DUDE!, U hit a home run!!!! The Bolded Comments are Priceless!!!
